- Idi Amin Dada, a member of the small Kakwa ethnic group of northwestern Uganda, a man with a little formal education seized power in a military coup on January 25, 1971 after coming into conflict with the then country’s president, Milton Obote. What followed is a story that have many angles, few believing he was a good president while majority believing he was a dictator, a Butcher of Uganda for his brutality, and it is believed more than 300,000 people were killed and countless others tortured during his presidency.
On the other side, Idi Amin was a philosopher with a great sense of humor. Let’s take a look of top 10 interesting and hilarious moments.

My dia, we are from Uganda, and a story here is different, he was a great man here , but the government tries so much to paint him dark , make him evil so we can praise it's regime, so things are totally different

He was a murderous dictator.
I think he was a brilliant man maybe surrounded by wrong people. I totally agree with him that women should be trusted with households. You educate a woman you save the nation. Love from Namibia
He was misunderstood but contextually intelligent 😅
It doesn't take much to be 'contextually intelligent' if sub-Saharan Africa is the context.
Indeed !
General Amin was indeed a man of wisdom.
Indeed he is
He was a fool and a murderous dictator.

What matters is the motive, heart and willing! Really he was a true pan african!
Most amazing man theres ever been! He‘s the President, the General, the King of the Sea, Idi, Idi, Idi Amin!
Stop broadcasting things you've not researched about.
You're very biased and immature in your analysis.
He was brutal and at the same time Great and against imperialism.
The West fabricated and exaggerated the propaganda against Imin.
I miss him 😢uganda will never have a head of state like him him never

Only those who are against him don't know really who the man was.
The great man his excellence the late idd Amin dada he was the perfect leader of the African continent I would like to ask our leader mama Samia to learn from Amin patriotism
Rest in power, my Great ANCESTOR, Idi Amin. You weren't perfect, you made a lot of mistakes but in spite all odds, you fought for the true liberation of Mama Africa with everything. Thanks for haven kept the struggle.

Just know he's the best president we've had as a country,he had his country at heart before anything else. Sometimes I wish I lived in his era,I continue to pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace.

This man is a real African with African spirit
good one
Whaouou Idi Amin ❤
With a low mind you will undermine Amin dada, he was a president of true dreams of African.
For the case of women bye then few people were educated not only but also internationally though some were educated. This was a wake up call for women to get involved in the working class and hold strong and big positions.
I think at that time it was very hard to find weman in any department in the government and remember his been walking in many countries around Africa he experienced zs en decided to talk about it,he descorved they were not employed, he is a great leader of all Africans. RIP iddi Amin dada your dream was to see Africans very proud
Field Marshall Idi Amin was good for Africa, a very brave man and full of African pride. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Africa needs more leaders like him today!
With regards to the place of women being in the home, I think what he was saying was that women over the years were known for running households well. With that capability why can't they run hotels in managerial positions?
The lady doesn't even know why Amin is talking about Sinai, read your history.
Idi use of English was masterfully crafted......its so real its comedic
This is the people that we need in Africa rip 😢😢
It seems as if Thomas Sankara was his incarnation.
Idi amine was a Great 🦁 but the people was deceive to make him brutal by the west, it sad until now we Africans can't realise our mistake so Sad
Great man
Yes. Sinai peninsula was part of Egypt, which was, at the time Idi Amin was speaking here, had been annexed by Israel, since after the Arab-Israeli war of 1967.
This was really a great man in the region
If the women is not working at home then the young ones will go rough and remember it's not saying all females because we need to
take care of females in many aspect of the society, structure the society in the way that will benefit all the way ALMIGHTY GOD commands
Look idi amiin dada, when General siad bare somali president Helping
And 10/22/1972. In mugdisho wit hes best frend siad bare enjoy.Brade armee Nr 4 in africa somalia Was the bower position 4 that time
I've always been fascinated by Idi Amin I am on the search for his response to global politicians wanting to make a settlement for Israelis in Uganda. Did he say "Send them"? It wasn't an invitation for tea. He intended to send them back in pieces if necessary. What was that quote?
Idi Amin was a great leader and highly respected Pan African.
the duty you are doing in this video shows, that women can do more than household tasks
Stop the hate and listen carefully, its so vivid enough for you not to throw it on us for our views.
Hey my sister, you put together a great informative video. Give us full view of Idi Amin by removing yourself from the screen when Amin is speaking. Thank you!
The power of the western media is the single most influential factors on African minds. Thank God for social media. Thanks @Mzalendo
Idd Amin is my role model
This man was great
No, he wasn't. He was a fool and a tyrant.
If Amin is still alive Uganda was going to the great country in the world
Better than present, president
He was a good leader and Africa needs leaders or people to have such ideology inorder to development
You woman cannot degrade someone who made Ugandans wake up.
Madam sinai is in Africa. Its not country but mountains in Egypt
Very true, in the grand scheme of things, Idi Amin was contextually on point. Even the referee example is on point but it obviously flew over the head of our host...let me transliterate...when the game is rigged ( and the ref is biased) your best option is an outright win preferably by knock out... Africa needed then as it does now a continent wide approach to turn the world upside down...that is...be the first to benefit from her resources and wealth.
I wish we can rule America like that.
My hero
Madam presenter your aim was to degrade Amin but you ended up degrading yourself. The clips you used depict Amin as great leader and a true Patriot. If you have a problem with his broken English be adviced that despite the shortcoming his message came out clearly and some of us liked the way he did not let his poor command of the english language prevent him from saying what he wanted to say. RIP Idd Amin Dada - CBE
The lady did what she set out to do. Amin was a despot in spite of that, he was a great man full of humor. I am a Nigerian but have watched many of Amin's videos especially the ones acted by Joseph Olita. Amin was truly a great man but his wickedness and brutality knew no bounds! Of a truth, he will never be forgotten by Africans and especially Ugandans.
You are correct
Amin deserves to be degraded, as all murderous dictators do. The presenter deserves credit for not lapsing into the crass, deluded outpourings of praise that some Africans foolishly lavish on Amin.
He loved his country and Africa at large secondly he tried to speak English cos is a primary 4 drop out all we admire from him is the heart he had for Africa never wanted English
@@lydianansubuga1651 He was a deranged despot and murdered thousands.
It's disheartening that so many in this comments section praise a man who was a murderous dictator.
You are right! How ever you should also consider the other part of the story. Currently, those that connived to overthrow him are the ones in power doing exactly what they allegedly say he was doing. We now live in a country where our citizenship expires even if you are a native, people are being evicted from their land, unwarranted detention with out trial, stealing from poor by government officials using armed security organs, discrimination and tribalism at any post of civil service, killing native Ugandans, torture in safe houses, prisons and Police cells, . Just to mention but a few. Yes.. I agree with you that Amin was murderous. But you need to understand why he did so. Almost all the people that he killed was the current regime's doing! These people were jealous and wanted to take his position. They rebelled against the government hence commiting treason and they had to be dealt with. But look at the situation now, The wealth of the whole country now belongs to a few individuals All their policies have crumbled because of corruption. Unless you are part of those oppressing Ugandans, you can't say such about Amin. All that he killed were guilty of their crimes! And others were killed by the current regime in his name. You wait for your regime to go,.. You will be exposed. I rest my case.
@@amuliabdulhakim557 I've no doubt you are right about the current condition of Uganda. However, you can't minimise Amin's wrong-doings in the manner you suggest. He was responsible for the deaths of countless thousands. He didn't merely eliminate a small number of political rivals.
General Amin made lot of sense. People dwell on only his errors and they ignore the great values he represented. Woe unto General Amin's haters.
The duties of the household and the family fall heavily on the woman. What the unintended consequence of this is the woman's ability to be a great CEO. She can organize, strategize, and love the family to succeed. A woman has been prepared in her personal life to succeed in her professional one.
Women are Home maker and making home is greatest Assignments which Man Canot do as women , so Raising Childers alone is the most Complex and brilliant job , so let educate women and uplift for their good work to make us Every thing from noting!
President of life
Idi amin ❤ RIP
Every brave leader is a good leader.
He wasn’t Hitla as people think. He’s the Best President Uganda has ever had
Sounds laughable for some; But His Excellency MR.President IDI AMIN" R.I.P" Advising GP doctors " Back in the days" NOT to drink and behaviour. Yes, Was a Problem. We should appreciate " His Excellency Always had a joke n' Smile....BUT behind that Joke Or a Smile ; I Swear He was telling TRUTH for Ye Nation n' Hardly trying improvement from local agricultural to Modernization " Which many did NOT WANT" Oi, loock Uganda nowadays 🇺🇬 RESPECTS to Him
Very Good state
Good president
I can saw him slapping to won the swimming 🏊♀️ race lol 😂😂
🇵🇰 ❤you brother idi Amin. May Allah swt shower his mercy on you & grant you high position in junnah.Ameen.
Dide he kicked out Asia's out of of his coutnry
This man was too courageous
yes i sgree
During the pre colonial era, it is also said that North Africa and further east into the middle east was also considered as Africa. That is what he says, sticking to the older version, so nothing to really worry about him mentioning it
At that time the Sinai Peninsula was under Israeli occupation, and as you know it's now part of Egypt.
The presenter was just too young to understand old stories and event....let's 4giv her
You leave the man alone you can never understand him.
To be educated doesn’t mean to speak English with someone else’s flare.
If he was able to rule his country for nine years and be welcomed at the UN headquarters in New York with applause and standing ovations means he was well educated.
why the media made him famous and continue talking About him even after his death?
Above all is,
Why the British army trained him to be an officer in their rank?
I guess they prepared him to rule over a certain country under British influence.
What went wrong for him was that he wasn’t able to satisfy HIS master’s ambitions, there and then he got vilified
For sure the man was very smart in the brain
Legend RIP
At 4:38 and 4:44 he was referring to Nyerere. Probably thinking of the September 1972 action at Mbarara.
Of course women are at liberty to do other things including office work. But one thing they need to do is to always remember, and do their first and major role which is being well explained by one of our great African presidents. Anything apart from that is symbolic marriages.
Yeh Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula is a sparsely populated desert region between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. On its southern tip, Sharm el-Sheikh resort is a base for diving and snorkeling around the reefs of Ras Mohammed National Park. Inland, 6th-century St. Catherine’s Monastery is near biblical Mount…
R I P Amini .l enjoy the day he was swimming in the pool
women should do and be the best they can be in anyway shape or form.
I would love to see this man debate Joe Biden.
Stop humiliating yourself. Maybe your related to Museveni. Leave our great hero alone
Amin was a murderous dictator. Is that your idea of a hero?
If I had my way I will go to Saudi Arabia exhume his corp's and bring him back home to Africa 🌍 and give him continental burial
Well! In ln life, there are certain roles and responsibilities that genders need to share and divide amongst themselves. It is not the question of which gender looks after the house chores and which gender goes to office and works. At the end of the day, a family is made up of both the husband, wife and children. The number of children also matters. If a woman / wife is able to manage both working outside and house hold chores it is fine. The other option is to clearly divide the roles and responsibilities between the husband and wife in order to balance the family.
In balancing, there are certain trade off's which cannot be avoided, some compromises, some sacrifices.
Yes home, she should teach the children and queen of the house and she should be a boss and to work for no one but building a happy family.
Ahaha 😂
This man had wisdom
He was a fool and a murderous dictator.
In eight years only I cannot call Amin adictator
He is not the west are layers they called all our good leader dictator they only promote the reqrutues among us
He didn't tolerate corruption that overwhelming us now and killed those who were supposed to die because of misusing government funds.
But that's precisely what he was: a dictator, and a murderous one too.
This presenter is so biased and negative. Next time get a presenter that is more professional
people talking Mandela, But IDI AMIN was greater then every leader in africa no 2 must be Thomas Sankara.
Im Somali but those 2 leader were my leader for always.
YES THE BEST PLACE FOR A WOMAN IS THE HOUSE BECAUSE WOMEN ARE SO SPECIAL THAT THEY SHOULDNT BE OVER STRESSED OR DISRESPECTED IN THE WIDER WORLD OF CHAOS
That's not what he said .he said they are so good they should manage hotels
@@justherelisteningin775 he said both. You're the one not getting the point. Hotel duty is basically same to house duties. Did you here him say women should be ministers and presidents? Nooo. He said hotel management. And he is right. Because hotel management is simply house management at a larger scale. And that's why he begun by saying the duty of a woman is that of a housewife. And then extrapolated the housewife duties to hotel management because it is the same thing only at different scales
Madam presenter u have nothing for degrading a such great leader lyk these
am inclined to think that everybody should play their roles.
