@lorenzojames4493 so sanctions smuggled gold out of the country. Sanctions killed 20 000 Ndebele speaking people in Zimbabwe during Gukurahundi. So sanctions killed opposition supporters in 2008. Sanctions gave corrupt tenders to government officials. Sanctions distributed land to incompetent farmers. I think you did your research well, you are right. It's Sanctions.

Are you aware that these rants by Mugabe have only made us suffer. These were just nothing but rants to hide the corruption, misrule, abuse and ineptitude of his government. Zimbabwe is in a bad state today because of plunder by his government. In the end he had to be removed by his own cronies because his government had failed!

Zbweans need to be honest with their politicians. Being patriotic actually means defending the country against its own corrupt dictators. Then, and only then, wld we be politically mature. Right now ppl are under poverty bcs of gvt corruption which has created billionaires among the country leadership & their families and multi-millionaires among those those connected to the political leaders. Hospitals have no medicine or appropriate equipment; toilets don’t flush in the biggest hospitals. Politicians don’t even get treated in local hospitals. What do the common ppl do?

Let's be realist and honest with each other, Mugabe as a man he had his own strength and weaknesses. His strength was basically on education as he was a teacher and he did a lot in our educational system and we championed the whole of Africa and Europe to a larger extend. His weaknesses was to over stay in power and marrying the young Jezrbel aka Grace Marufu who was very young to Mugabe. They looted the country and bought mansions overseas and never develop his country. We are scattered everywhere because se of this late old man and we are laughingstock.
