"If the law doesn't serve justice, justice shouldn't serve the law." Easily the hardest line I've heard in fiction.
You are very generous. We actually did this for fans like you. If we can improve anything, happy to hear it!
Monasterio was the main villain in Guy William's Zorro.
Wow, amazing that the producer is reaching out to hear feedback. And I think your suggestion was a good one, especially now that Diego is in New York where he is more likely to confront some well-learned men, so he'll need to be smarter to go up against them.
We are all paying attention, this is made for EVERYONE that loved this, the first superhéroe
This Zorro feels like all the zorro’s that have come before plus the creation of Batman and robin with red snake
More like Daredevil and The Punisher
I used to be a huge Zorro fan when I was little but I did not know this show existed in Amazon prime.
I remember I was Zorro for Halloween in 6th grade. Was my best costume to this day, still remember my mom drawing the mustache on me
This show is fantastic! Thank you for recommending it! My parents and I loved it!
Fun fact: Both Lolita and Monasterio aren't original characters from this series. They actually appeared in previous Zorro adaptations. Lolita was Diego's love interest in the anime Kaiketsu Zorro and Monasterio was the main villain in the first season of Disney's Zorro.
This series gave them upgrades, with Lolita becoming more active badass while Monasterio was turned from just evil mustache villain to more complex antagonist.
You're wrong. Lolita appears in "The Curse of Capistrano", the first Zorro novel ever in 1919,
I have it and I looked it up right now just to check.
I loved this show and really hope that we get a second season.
Excellent review! I love this the new Zorro and wish it had been promoted more in the states. I found it by accident and am so glad I did!
Amazon Musketeers is awesome and is giving me what I wanted from what could have been a sequel to the Disney Musketeers. I know it isn’t a sequel but it gives me everything that I wanted from what could have been a sequel.
I'm in sweden and i cant iven get it to show up on prime video.
All I get is the option to rent the Antonio Banderas movies
Maybe time to get a VPN?
The way I found out about this show was due to my habit of looking things up on Wikipedia and occasionally editing things. I was searching for the 1950s Zorro as I had recently finished it on Disney+ and this show popped up at the top of my search bar.
Now normally, I don’t really get into live-action non-English speaking shows. The lip-synching always throws me off and the subtitles always go by too fast for me to either read or pay attention to. The reason I like this show so much is that it made me make an exception to what I just said because it’s just that good.
The only thing that took me a bit to get used to was the more modern look that Diego went with in designing his costume. I was just more used to the classical look, but I eventually realized that it represented how each Zorro is unique, both in fiction and reality. Not to mention it helps him blend in more with his environment in both night and day.
From the title of the video, I thought you might've hated this show; which made me a little...leery due to my overall anticipation in wanting to see Zorro.
Thankfully, you proved me wrong
Fantastic show!
They stealth dropped a new Zorro series, like how they dropped a Django series last year
There is a Django series? English subtitles???
Hold on, what?
@@iwasanangryyoungman Yep, Only person I know in it is Noomi Rapace
I haven't seen every episode, BUT I have a few quibbles even granting the artistic license that comes with filmmaking (or any storytelling:
1) Contrary to what the presenter of this video asserts, what the mute Bernardo character communicates with his hand gestures is unintelligible;
2) The natives look more like Plains Indians than the more peaceful tribes that inhabited the region;
3) If the show is set in the 1830's, Chinese came to California to build the transcontinental railroad in the 1860s;
4) Similarly, if the show is set in the 1830's, it's highly unlikely that a Colt rapid-fire weapon would make it to California so early;
5) Russian traders didn't establish themselves in southern California;
6) the port of Los Angeles is not in close proximity to the town of Los Angeles
That said, the various storylines are interesting and the character development is great. It's got beautiful cinemaphotography.
Really enjoyed the show but It's not available for streaming in the UK unless using a VPN.
I love it it’s an amazing show
This new Zorro series is pretty good but I prefer the Banderas version of the character. He is a definitive Zorro. Where this Zorro is good modern version of the character.
Netflix should have done it.
checked amazon and currently this doesn't appear at all here. this makes me sad. hopefully this will change
The took a Latino Icon and made his mantal an indigenous American thing.
It's probably not being advertised due to it only being in Spanish. If there's an English dub, then they might start advertise it. But for right now, the long awaited release of Hazbin Hotel is finally out and Amazon wants to promote that indie cartoon. After that, there's the Fallout series coming out in April.
It should have options for subtitulós en Inglés
There's a new Zorro series?
There's a Musketeers series?!
@@darthkrypton123 The one from 2014?
Yes, yes, and yes.
I see some AEW figures in the background, any chance we get an AEW video soon? 👀👀👀
I believe my introduction of Zorro was the 1990 tv show starring Duncan Regehr, but I also liked 1997 animated show and I'm a huge fan the Antonio Banderas movie.
This video is informative. Thank you.
Big fan of Zorro, but have not had a chance to sit down and watch this new show yet. But gotta ask, is the theme song as great as the 90's Zorro show's was? Because that is a very high bar to clear.
I can say for myself it's a good one
Having a short rail thin woman woman beat up Zorro in the first episode because she wanted to Zorro was so ham fisted. You shouldn't be thinking of the writer's motivations when consumer a story.
Never heard a word about this.
I'm gonna go and watch it
If I had to guess they aren't advertising it in the u.s. specifically because it starts a Spanish-american character and the border crisis is a very hot topic right now. If there's anything I learned from the vizziepop "controversy" it's that loud groups will go for as much as a stretch as they need to to manipulate something in to a platform to argue on and I could see prime just not wanting to deal w/ that if they can help it.
I think its less to do with that, and more so distancing itself from the disaster film in the making which is Z, or Zorro 2110, a post apocalyptic alternate time-line Zorro with a female lead. Its been in production hell for quite some time and has already gained bad press because it sounds really dumb and possibly polarizing. To be honest, I thought this Prime series for a second was that film, retooled for television.
@@alpyki2588 that wouldn't make any sense though. From what I could find there's no relation between the 2 and promoting the show would do far more to distinguish it as its own than keeping quiet. U even said yourself u just assumed they were the same thing because they did so little to establish the show until Erods video elaborated on it more.
I had no idea this was out.
I was so excited to see this show on Amazon, I binged the hell out of it and enjoyed all of it
I saw 2 Episodes and they totally disrespected with all the MODERN crap they keep putting in Television and Movies! When you devolve the Main character into needing help it just makes the show Suck... I don't need Zorro to get beat by an indigenous female in the first f@#$ing episode!!! Took me right out😂😂😂
My issue is the English subtitles are a translation of the original Spanish instead of a transcription of the English dub. I know "just watch it in Spanish", but sometimes I just want to watch a show in your mother tongue and I'm hard of hearing.
Just finished the first season. I loved it!!
Zorro, Zorro, Zorro, Zorro
The fans it now aims to please.
Zorro, Zorro, Zorro Zorro
They stealth dropped the new series.
I understood that reference.
I have *never* heard of this. For me, Antonio Banderas is always going to be Zorro. Who's going to top him?
A possible reason for people not knowing about the show or watching the show is that at one time there were rumors about a new Zorro show coming out, but, the premise was going to be that it took place in present day and Zorro was going to be female and I think it was going to be on the CW. People may have heard about that and didn't like it and so if they did hear about a new zorro coming out or saw it on a menu and didn't want to watch it
The fact there was barely any marketing for this at all really tells you a LOT.
I found out about Amazon’s Zorro series through a CZcams trailer.
If you ask my associate, it’s because Amazon would rather promote their Thursday Night Football Series than Zorro.
Erod, you published with a "vanity press" publisher. They charged you thousands of dollars to self publish your book. you got scammed, dont fall for this next time. Real publishers DO NOT charge you to publish YOUR books. First time authors often get scammed by these scum lords!!!! Always research the publisher before publishing with them!!!
I watched the first episode and I was not impressed with the fight choreography.
So no bait and switch Zorras to save the hero’s ass?
None to show him up as a sexist dinosaur?
Shame on everyone who doesn't know Zorro.
(The only real complaint I have with the show is the English dub is mediocre to bad. I don't know if it was direction for nearly everyone to be half asleep on their delivery or what, but it sucks).
