Is he the same NEGADUCK? Ducktales 2017 Darkwing Duck Theory!

- My theory if the NegaDuck in the new Ducktales series is the same NegaDuck we saw in the original 1991 Darkwing Duck cartoon. I try to explain how this is possible and give my thoughts.
- Zábava
The writers did go out by saying that season 3 is going to be “darker”
I haven't heard that. That's interesting. Never imagined Ducktales being darker lol
DWOMT on the off hand I had no idea this character existed and was confused when I saw it in the new ducktales so after just watching a series recap video it showed a tweet from a writer saying it was just going to be “darker” they didn’t saying anything other than that. It may not be the type of darker as in its more grit and horror type of dark, it could be more physically dark.
@@prescottpage5395 That's true. They could be going with more deeper storytelling with mature themes, rather than Scrooge going around decapitating his adversaries LOL. Well I will definitely be checking out Season 3 to see what they have in mind. You've piqued my curiosity!
@@prescottpage5395 I think they've already gotten a bit darker, with at least Lena. It's basically an allegory for child abuse, and breaking free from that.
I think it'll be themes that get darker, not necessarily in a way that's like violent. Just better stories.
And it's going to be Huey-centric, so, knowing Huey, he's going to have a swell time.
Yes he is the same Negaduck we all know and hate but in a good way
He definitely isn’t the same. Personality wise he is, but this negaduck is from a totally different cartoon universe.
@@lumityshipper3228 it’s also just a theory. I don’t buy the theory.
@@bluebubble229 i don’t like you
@@lumityshipper3228 well I don’t like you either. Don’t like anyone who calls me dumb ass or insults me. I also am only rude to people who are rude to me first.

As for the house. He also had the original Darkwing's daughter (but as her guardian instead of father). Easy to think that he sought out NegaGosalyn in the negaverse. He has to have anything Darkwing does -including his kid. She might have been living there with her grandfather (in the negaverse, Negaduck, not Bulbs probably killed him).
You just made me wonder what Taurus Bulba is like in the Negaverse lol
They want grim and gritty, huh?
Happy to play the part.
After the new Darkwing hour long special this seems possible. I’m betting that the plot of the Darkwing spin-off is gonna have NegaDuck bring back the Fearsome Four from the other dimension and then they all fight Darkwing throughout the show and the show could end with Darkwing sending all 5 of them back into the dimension of the OG tv show.
It’s as you say, Negaduck is a multiverse character. Disney itself has many times explored its own multiverse. What we had in the 90’s was one multiverse, and in that one Negaduck came from the split positive and negative neutrons.
In this new universe the original Darkwing is a fictional character played by, Jim Starling who has become this universes Negaduck. That tells me that should a Darkwing Duck ever exist in a universe a Negaduck must also exist with him, or an imbalance will occur creating suffering due to which one is in control. Two episodes show this to be true. Dark Warrior Duck, and the Negaverse. Both of those universes did not have the opposite Duck to keep the other in a state of balance.
There were actually two Negaducks from the original Darkwing. One from when Megavolt split Darkwing Duck, and another from a negative universe that was accessed through a cake
in the Dark Warrior Duck timeline negaduck existed ;-)
@@Terriermon1234 You really don't know how that timeline worked, do you? Of course he existed in that timeline it was an extension from when Gosalind hitched a ride in that time top at the beginning making Darkwing think she was gone. So placed years later he became a dictator of St Canard to ensure that no crimes were ever committed again since he blamed them for her disappearance.
@@Zoras88 i know how it worked, and the reason that he became dark warrior was NOT negaduck, it was because he thought kiki was gone :)
@@Terriermon1234 her name wasn't kiki. I never said anything about Negaduck. I was correcting you about your assumption that Negaduck from the Ducktales series was the same one who was in the Dark Warrior timeline as you thought that they were different realities.
Negaduck was never saw again:(
This puts the Ramrod device from the upcoming Ducktales episode in a whole new light
me, finding this after "Let's get dangerous!" aired: .....................HOLY-
OCTOBER 19th, 2020!!!
“Let’s Get Dangerous!!!”
It’s a 1-Hour Episode with Darkwing Duck.
I saw that! Should be interesting! I'm betting this hour long episode may include Gosalyn and Taurus Bulba. Their character designs were shown at a comic con panel last year, so I am guessing this episode is when they finally appear.
What if negaduck went to the Marvel Universe and found a Dark Wing there
@ Howard the Duck in DuckTales I want to see it happen
@@RAZVIELRAMOS Howard the Duck was referenced in Phineas and Ferb so…
Well they did introduce the new RAM rod, and it opens dimensions. So this may be true.
Holy fuck this theory just got way more plausible after “Let’s Get Dangerous!” Or maybe…the reverse of this theory?
Hear me out. Here’s what I’m now thinking: the new Negaduck _originated_ from the Negaverse and then at some point found his way to the current DT 'verse. Of course, we do all know Negs lives for being bad, but still; what better way to get back at Darkwing than to *_be_* Darkwing?
So he did the show, doing his own stunts, maybe even co-writing, and reveling in the fame and in the actual pain he got to inflict on his fellow cast members. Then came the cancellation, and he was left to just ride out the rest of his life on the dwindling fame and estate he had left. His behavior in “The Duck Knight Rises!” is still pretty Negaduck-ish even before Launchpad starts questioning how ethical their plan is.
Jim is also significantly older than Drake this time around, and it might explain why his costume dye drips away into the Negaduck colors, goofy 90’s villain that he is; he never really did get rid of his original costume, did he?
At least, that’s my current idea. Not sure even I believe it, but I still think it’s kinda cool! What do you think?
plausable but then we have the question how did he find his way in the 2017 duck verse in order for your theory to be true
the ramrod wasn't around also any other means of multiversal travel aren't established
we could say ramrod brought him here during its destruction but it cannot send him back in time as he is an old actor around way before ramrod
@@ankurdesai8370 maybe in "Life, the Negaverse and Everything" when he got pulled into the universal plug (or tear rather) he got transported to the DT17 universe? instead of being "sucked to oblivion"
@@lanibird2182 that is a really good point , that would mean that everytime we see him after that episode he has actually lived a full life in another universe and is back for tormenting , come to think of it the show never really acknowledges how he came back from being sucked into a literal tear in the fabric of limbo [ space between universes i am calling it limbo here] . he also wasn't seen for quite sometime after that episode .so we got ourselves a solid theory on our hands.
I am the terror that flaps in the night! I am the winged scourge that pecks at your Nightmares! I am Darkwing Duck!
HOLY SHIT THIS HAS FOOTING NOW! The Selago circuit exists, and the dark wing duck TV show is an alternate universe within the DuckTales series holy crap this actually makes sense now you called it dude.
I don't think the two are connected. They're separate universes...but if we connect them, it could be that the Negaverse and original DW universe wnd up being a trap for Jim Starling where he is forever trapped to fight against the one thing he will never be. I think that's a more positive spin and outcome for Ducktales reboot, but a much more poetic end for Negaduck/Jim.
Or better yet, they open up a rift to the original universe and give us a proper season finale from that version, where the original 90's DW passes on heroic advice to the new Drake Mallard.
As for why Negaduck didn't know who DM was, it could be that he is the same person, but did not have a loving family or friends, and therefore his ego drove him to insanity, rather than a crime fighter.
Either way, it's great we'll still be talking about this for years now.
*It's the same person in the Negaverse, but he never even learned his birth name.*
@@watertommyz I think the original negaduck knows his birth name, but left it behind and was a full time villain
Was it Negaduck originally the split evil Persona of Darkwing in that one episode negaduck and then they brought him in From Another Universe making him a complicated character since he's technically is Darkwing Duck
I literally just watched that episode, I’d never watched the Ducktales reboot, but after hearing that darkwing duck was going to be a spin-off/reboot as well, I had to watch it. And I love it! Of all the DW villains, Negaduck was my favorite, I don’t know why, maybe it was because he just looks cooler or maybe it’s because he’s a combo of carnage and the joker in a duck body. But I will say your theory is credible due to the fact Negaduck hates DW so much he willing to cross universes just to make his life a living hell. It makes sense that the reason Jim hates him so much is because Drake took everything from him. It kind of reminds me of the old story of the original Lone Ranger. That the guy literally thought of himself as the Lone Ranger so much, rumor had it he never took his mask off in public. It’s kind of sad and crazy at the same time. Jim Starling embodied that. He loved the role so much, he lost himself and in so doing he went insane and even forgot who he is. I love the idea that it’s a time loop destined to go on and on forever.
Here’s another theory: Nega Duck joins Fowl to get his arsenal for his eventual rise.
Katsuo Chronus He probably wants to do his dirty work, he wants to be fully responsible for darkwing’s death!
Yeah, they did reveal F.O.W.L in the last episode of season 2.
Nope R.I.P negaduck
Welp it was only a theory that won’t come true, unless a new fowl is made in a probably possible Darkqing duck spin off reboot
Interesting-theory. Almost like a causality-loop but not quite. It reminds me of the theory that Dr. Claw was the real human Inspector Gadget and that the Inspector Gadget we see in the cartoon is actually a clone or cyborg created by Penny. This would explain why we never saw Dr. Claw and why he never hurt Penny.
I would love to see Darkwing get a spin off from Ducktales, and maybe see that rivalry be built up on between Darkwing and Gizmoduck.
- The old Darkwing is too old so someone made a replacement for him
- The old Darkwing didn't approve this at all/refused to pass the torch to the new Darkwing
- The old Darkwing getting more and more crazier as his ego consumed him
- When the odds really against him, his hatred is getting so big that he turned himself to a villain, hence Negaduck was born
This Negaduck origin fits really well with the reboot series.
well, the ducktales 2017 reboot just confirmed that the OG darking duck universe does exist, being in a separate universe.
Which means the drake mallard from the 2017 reeboot could possibly meet his dimensional counterpart (drake mallard) from the OG series.
The fact that the writers pulled this, must mean they plan to do a crossover in the future. Your theory could work seeing how negaduck technically does not have an origin story in the OG series, besides being claimed to have come from an alternate negauniverse. However, the OG series never fully explain how he escaped the negaverse and decided to reside in darkwings universe, or how he came to know darkwing and why he hated him. I found it quite bizarre how the fearsome four willingly teamed up with him when he first debuted despite his notable costume resemblance to darkwings.
Your theory may explain the connection.
Wait till Monday when they release the alternate universe machine, the one hour special. Then this old theory of yours will come too close to reality.
I honestly like negaduck more than Darkwing
It could work especially that interdimensional tech was invented in the Ducktalesverse.
That would be interesting and make since at the same time! 😂
Have you watched the new Ducktales Episode today? The implemented Parallel Universes in a Darkwing Duck Special... Coincidence? I think not!
I haven't seen the whole episode yet, but I have seen some clips on CZcams and it looks good. They're definitely going with the multi-dimensional angle. This opens up a lot of possibilities, and could still make my own theory valid lol
I would be totally fine if this were the case. It makes for a great story. However, I doubt they will go that route.
I can't wait for the season 3 of ducktales I wonder if their will be more negaduck information in season 3
When i watched the ducktales episode of Darkwing duck i thought yes more Darkwing duck but when i watched it i Learned it was much MUCH darker
Please don’t just be crazy! This theory is amazing!
I think negaduck was acting as darkwing
duck to make him bad
1st Darkwing episode: Negaduck is born
2nd: Darkwing episode: Introduction of the multiverse due to the use of the ram rod.
Yeah, I'm thinking this might be what the creators are going for. Or at least something close to it.
Hey update from the future umm so a yah F.O.W.L has a inter dimensional weapon until it blew up ironic because this was on the darkwing duck episode on season three and the original villains came back
Drake and negaduck.in the og series in their encounters and conversations seems to have known each other for years they are quite famiar with each other they seem to be twins
You know in the original Darkwing Duck series Negaduck is a Clone of Darkwing Duck watch the Episode called Negaduck. Darkwing Duck is zapped with Megavolt's tronsplitter, separating his good side from his bad. Another zap with the two sides will restore him to normal, but his negative side is certain not to let that happen. Debut of the original "negatron version" of Negaduck.
This was a really good video and I was really surprised when I looked down and saw you only had 150 subs
Thanks!! Yeah the low subscriber count is my fault. I need to push out more videos, I have more ideas for videos, but the whole Coppa thing on CZcams held me back for awhile because Darkwing fits into the kids entertainment category, but I am hoping by now things might have lightened up so I can make more videos again.
Too bad that Negaduck never appeared in the series finale of Ducktales 2017 but fingers crossed that the writers will be thinking about doing the reboot of Darkwing Duck so the story continued were Ducktales 2017 left off.
I’m super disappointed we didn’t get to see him again in Ducktales. I wish some Disney higher up got a eureka moment and say: hey, instead of a Darkwing Duck reboot, let’s make a Negaduck spinoff!
@billy kimber I heard it as well. I’m quite certain it was true for that episode. But audience reaction shapes creative direction these days more than ever. So I’m also convinced they had considered bringing him back. Especially for the Darkwing centric 2-parter.
Bro that makes so much sense though
I was just thinking like hey
I don't remember Nagaduck
Have any origin story and believe me it was a reoccurring thing that keeps popping back in my head.
And luckily I just said like hey do you know I'm going to find it out it's been bothering me for years let's just get over it tried to find somebody who reviewed the character and then I stumbled upon this video. which makes so much sense though when you think about it like the character didn't really have much of a backstory or origin he was just evil ((out of my memory))
But this makes so much sense thank you for making this video buckaroo.
I always just figured that since the negaverse was the main universe but eviler that negaduck was just darkwing with all his narcissism and greed but without his kind human Drake Mallard side. By the way, did you ever notice that DWD is basically the simpsons meets the scarlet pumpernickel?
And Batman: The Animated Series.
@@mgg121288able Yep.
Interesting theory, but I thought Jim Starling represented the 90’s Darkwing? Yes I know his real name isn’t Drake Mallard and its his younger replacement that has that name instead. I’m 33 myself, so grew up watching the original Ducktales and Darkwing Duck. They’re among my favorite Disney toons. But anyway both Launchpad and Drake grew up watching Jim’s Darkwing which would have had to have been a 90’s cartoon like it is for us since new Ducktales takes place in modern times making Launchpad and Drake in their 30’s while Jim is early 50’s I’m guessing therego Jim’s Darkwing would have to be their universe’s 90’s Darkwing. So while this is a cool theory I really don’t think these two Negaducks are the one in the same. I just think he’s a third version. I feel like he’s going to try to fight crime at first only to take it to the extreme kind of like Duck Warrior except he’ll do so in the same psychotic style of Negaduck until he finally realizes he’s the bad guy now thus causing him to fall even further into depravity.
the ducktales universe probably has its own darkwing duck that is similar to the 1991 but not the same
awesome video
Thanks buddy! I appreciate that!
I'd love for the new Ducktales team and Sega to make a more modernized SATAM, they had Ben as Dewie and Jim cummings as Negaduck. Seeing their take on SATAM would probably be more world building than the OG series
TELL THAT TO DARKWING DUCK
POWERFUL NEGADUCK HE HAVE BECOME THE DARK SIDE I SENSE IN YOU IN YOUR FEAR!
The People of Duckburg is in Terrible DANGER And even worse Negaduck will take revenge FOREVER
TIME FOR DUCKTALES NEW SERIES TO WORK Once I have a deal for now
Negaduck is like the Joker or Dr Insano once an origin is given retcons will undo it.
There is no true origin only the character.
I think it is the original Negaduck but he was transported to this new reality when he disappeared in the one Darkwing Duck episode and started a new life for himself and thought to make lots of money when he started as Darkwing duck in his own TV show until it got cancelled. That is my theory
One of the whriters said that the in universe show was created by Rockwell
Would be cool, but Negaduck is a very well stablished character in the original DD, he Is just Drake Mallard from the Negaverse.
In the original series darkwing and negaduck have been familiar with each other and know each other ot seems like they was twins and one went bad and the other became a crimefighter oddly negaduck saw drake without costume but didnt recognise him that was strange
Negaduck is only one person, he has no “normal” life, I think he disliked having a normal life, so he assumed the same thing was for darkwing duck! That is why he doesn’t think twice about it!
I love darkling duck when I was a kid this is kind of awesome unfortunately I'm not too much of a fan of the new the new DuckTales DuckTales so I haven't really caught that far but now that you said that I might have to catch up Peace have a wonderful day or night wherever you are
He only made one appearance in the TV show in 2017 and he never came back. That makes no sense. Why didn't they add new episodes on him fighting him?
No, they are not the same character.
The original Negaduck we know first came from Megavolt, and the other came from the Negaverse (the opposite version of the place of St. Canard).
While Jim Starling (the reboot Negaduck) was an actor who used to play as the live action show of "Darkwing Duck" and he just wanted to be remembered by other younger fans out there, also some of the older audience who is a fan of him.
I do think that this is possible at the very least i have something to somewhat add on to this theory and maybe something that doesn't line up with your theory.
1ST the DUCKTALES creator's NEVER leave a character. arc. or plot line on finished so it would make sense for the writer's to leave negaduck in one episode of the series and then have him be the main villain of the new DW series and the og DW and the new DW can take place relatively at the same time because negaduck is traveling between dimension's but I also think something else remember in (the duck night return's) how LPs speech helps Jim Regan his sanity long enough to save LP and drake well what if at the end of the DWD series goslyen give's a speech like this and I say goslyen because we'll in the DW tv show within DUCKTALES 2017 LP. goslyen. goslyen's grandfather.and bulba. don't seem to be characters bast on the reaction's of drake and LP but there might be similar relationships between characters with different names so Jim's DW probably had a daughter and I'd like to think that maybe she was Jim's real child and Jim's wife died when there daughter was 3/4 leaving him a single parent and Jim's daughter was like goslyen in the og series and some time after Jim's series his daughter died (maybe like a illness or something) but the point is that Jim would be all olone and though out the new series Jim save's goslyen time to time because she reminds him of his daughter and at the end of the show he sacrifices himself to save drake because maybe by this time drake as finally adopted goslyen and Jim's last words are for drake to protect goslyen and give her a happy life and Jim let's drake continue the legacy of DARKWING DUCK.
also you said that negaduck could be the one and only in the multiverse and you could just say that every negaduck in every form of mida is the same person but in the (secret origin's of DARKWING DUCK) dark and nega are alien cousin's.
*NEGA*
It is not the same Negaduck. The original Negaduck is from the negaverse
It's probably not the same Negaduck, but it's fun to speculate.
@@DWOMT Yeah, you're right
what if he isn’t evil, but an actor.
no that would never happen

You are too since you are here
Let's be real: Since the new "DuckTales" decided to go woke, it's no longer canon or matters. It's just Frank Angones' wet dream.
That ain't Negaduck.
Once something has the creator's approval, no matter what, I consider it canon. And considering Tad Stones himself cameoed in the episode, I'd say it has his approval.
Go woke how? I don't get it.
I view this new Ducktales as a parallel universe to that of the original Ducktales and Darkwing. It's kind of like what's been done with the Ninja Turtles, where the 1987 Ninja Turtles were a parallel universe to the other Ninja Turtles TV shows.
Reboot negaduck is better than the original because better character and better origin also better villain
We've only seen like 30 seconds of the new Negaduck lol. I think we need to see more if we're going to make that conclusion. Not that I'm not open to your assumption, but we need more first.
I like the original Negaduck better.
we havn't get to see him him in action you cant say that
I'd have to see more of the new Negaduck before I draw on that conclusion. He's only been shown briefly. Let's give him a chance first.
He didn't do anything _as_ Negaduck but stand in the sewer and laugh. C'mon...
