Em will be 50 this year. Hailie is 26 now and a fashion/lifestyle influencer on IG. Em had custody of Hailie, his daughter with Kim, and Alana, who is Kim's twin sister's daughter. Then after this song, Kim had a baby girl Whitney with another man and Em got custody of her too. Kim had been doing better until recently her mother passed away and she attempted suicide again. I believe she was back in a facility after that. But the kids are grown. Hailie & Alana were with him at the Super Bowl!
As far as I know, Em is cool or decent with Kim and his mom right now, he was incredibly angry about people who screwed him over back in the day, but now he’s grown and developed some empathy for them. He may not be on friendly terms, but he’s resolved his bitterness for the most part, maybe he sees how hard their lives were as well

I honestly don't think either way is best when it comes to your family. If possible, you want to find as much of a happy medium as you can.
You don't want your family to struggle, but you don't want to never see them either.
And I agree with you... Money may not buy happiness, but it buys a lot of things that can make you happy.

Kim was sent to jail for not doing a drug treatment programme, she got 1 year. As for them as a couple apparently kim wasnt the best of people based on interviews but i think also marshall was bad with her too. Basically they hooked up as teenagers and had an on and off again toxic relationship. They got married twice and now i believe all the drama is over they are no longer together.

Eminems music is not catered to a specific group of people! Eminem himself has said that he waned to have a voice in hiphop, he wanted to be able to speak and for people to listen to him, that's all! Ignore those people telling you his music is "not for you." like wtf is that even supposed to mean?? istg they're making the craziest stuff up for no reason. As eminem once sai, "When Im able to speak and people are gonna listen, im gonna tell my side of the story. I would love to have money but I would choose my kids over fortune anyday of the week, my kids growing up is something I can never experience again so it’s a fucked up situation but in the end my kids being with their dad would be something I choose every time
For your question whether it's better if parents are their for their kids but poor, or it's better to be (partially) absent, I'd they there is no answer that's correct for everyone. It's important how the parents deal with it. If a parent is content with staying poor to be there for their kids that's great. But if a parent stays poor to be with their kids and is unhappy with this, because actually also wants fulfill his/her own dreams and have a better financial situation for him/herself and the kids, then I don't think it's too great. I'd say in most cases happy parents will also be more loving towards their kids. If they are unhappy, even if they try not to show their kids, their kids will feel it. In my opinion less time but then real quality time with the kids might be better than just being there more time, but being unhappy and less loving.
tl;dr
I don't think in long term it's necessarily good when parents completely give up their own life and dreams for their kids.
The question u asked I think you have to find the balance and it looks different from everyone.

Yeah so obviously Em and Kim didn’t have the most healthiest relationship..they were toxic especially when they and the peak of Em’s fame. As he mentioned in the song, Kim didn’t like that he blew up and became famous. Of course she supported his dreams, but then with fame that means he was gone most of the time. Leaving her to work and also take care of the kids without him. So they fought A LOT and then Kim turned to alcohol and drugs barely could take care of the kids. Then Kim and Em had a huge fall out and angry battle even going to court. They broke up on and off and then had a divorce and yes Em used their rocky relationship in his music. But I’d like to think even though they weren’t in the best of the terms, he still shows especially in this video how she was actually a good mom. There were good memories together despite their bad moments and eventual divorce.
Em and Kim only had one child which was Hailie. Em and Kim took in Kim’s sister’s daughter Lainey because Kim’s sister and her baby’s daddy couldn’t raise their kid. Then during their break up or was it divorce? Kim got pregnant with Whitney aka Stevie and Em took that kid in as his own as well. He also took in his little brother, Nathan when his mother just couldn’t take care of him. So in total Em has 3 kids and his brother. He valued family and sacrificed a lot to provide for them tbh. I respect that side of him and his kids grew up beautifully and had low profile lives.

For one, no one should have suggested for you to listen to Kim first time off. It was funny at first seeing your reaction but i think it tainted how you view him a bit. I would never recommend that song to anyone unless they are really firm in their feelings. Its a hard song to listen to. Even had to tell a sweet looking young old man not to do that just to save him the pain of hearing that song. Secondly, he has a song called Bonnie and Clyde where he doesn't kill his baby cuz that is Hailie. It is a continuation of that song from what i remember. He does have alot of soulful songs especially recently such as Castle and Arose which need to be played together in this order. Em been through a lot and his mother and Kim was abusive to him. He vented his anger and had to survive in a predominantly black environment. Its crazy what his story has taught me about myself and my own personal struggles. Those songs I feel Castle and Arose is the closet to a summary of his life but there is so much more. You don't have to be a fan. It will be interesting how you feel about him later on. I hardly had my parents in my life even when my mother was in the next room. I felt empty and my dads (stepdad and biological dad) die early when I was younger. So i didn't have a concept as to what parents are actually suppose to be. I learned to be a great uncle to my nieces and my sister and I made amends and I see her as a mother figure i learned from
