- LOW BACK PRESSURE, LESS GAS - GET YOURS NOW!
The SilencerCo Velos LBP was just announced, and SilencerCo has given the people what they want. This tough little 5.56 suppressor can handle anything you can feed it. It combines the durability of the Saker with a new ultra-low backpressure design. It's an evolution, retaining everything that made the Saker series great and improving on it.
This durability comes from precision 3D printing, design, and of course the legendary Hoplon blast baffle. For years the Saker and Saker ASR series have been kings of durability. The Velos LBP dethrones the former champs and steps it up another notch. If you've got an MK46, Fightlite upper, or some drums on that 7.5" barreled M-16, the Velos can handle it.
For attachment, the Charlie mounting system is used. The ASR version ships with the Velos LPB, but it can use a number of industry-standard mounts. From direct thread to 3-party QD setups, the Velos is compatible. The Charlie system was used as it provides superior strength when compared to many other designs.
We've said it's a tough can, but to this point have only hinted at its most important aspect. The Velos is SilencerCo's first low-backpressure silencer. We mean low. Virtually nonexistent. When mounted on sensitive machine guns, there was no increase in cyclic speed and no blowback to the shooter. With the Velos LPB silencer on, your firearm will behave naturally. Less wear, less filth, and less noise to the shooter.
This video has been instrumental in saving my sanity waiting on mine to get approved. Infringements are gay
Amen
ordered one from SilencerShop back in April and it's finally going to ship, yay another +1 to the form 4 jail family. i'm up to 4 now.
Lol
I just backordered the velos last week from silencershop. I'm dreading the potential wait time. They dont know when the next sico restock is
@@GigaChode dude it's an awesome can, well worth the wait
For a flow-through, this has the stoutest baffle-stack of any can...by far. Incolnel 925 is far tougher than any non-cobalt steel alloy (like stellite/cobalt-6). Big fan of the Huxworx, but this is an objectively *tougher* can than the Huxworx Flow....and not by a small margin. We're talking max temp ranges that are hundreds of degrees higher for the SiCo, and likely max internal pressures that are far greater as well.
It's really neat to me to see silencer design improve in new, specific ways. For a long time, sound level, weight/length/handiness and the general trade-off between the two were big variables you were either chasing or sacrificing. And a whole crop of other products came into being to mitigate the sacrifices you had to make but that didn't stop the silencer designers. They added modularity so the end user could make that general trade off when you wanted to. They chased a lower, deeper, more pleasing tone. They'd been chasing the issue of increasing cyclic rate and excess gas blowback to the shooter when suddenly the government is concerned about toxicity to shooters in the Next Gen Squad Weapon program. Lo and behold, the concerns align and the silencer designers once again demonstrate that the equation isn't as simple as it was once thought to be to be and they can do better with smarter design, better materials, better coatings, etc. And that's to say nothing of how direct thread used to be the only game in town and the idea of having a can that was easy to clean was a pipe dream. Just fantastic. I wonder things might look in ten more years with improvements I can't even think of.
I followed you completely, even though these are complex topics. Silencerco wins again
They should do a 7.62 version. Very impressive.
Absolutely, I have been in the “ suppressor” market for almost a yr now . Being I’m not an impulse shopper I’ve looked at slot of cans . This will definitely be my buy if and when it comes out . Would be even cooler in a Long configuration. For magnum 30cals
I have good news for you. And bad news. Good news first: they did. Bad news: they're backordered.
@@TechZACH16 sweet ill have to look into it. Im always behind on suppressor scuttlebutt
I cerakote full time professionally and have H, E, C, P, & V series coatings and will say this. If you are looking for true durability for a weapon you are planning on using frequently, then you will want to stick with H or E series coatings that require a catalyst along with oven curing. V-Series requires an oven cure but no catalyst
Would it be easy to cerokote this suppressor H or E?
i fired one of these at TRIGGRCON on a MK18 on full auto, not only was there no gas to the face but it was super quiet. so quiet it might even be better than my omega300 my 16" AR.
How does it compare to the Huxwrx 556k?
That's the question I've been asking. My next can is one of these two.
@@TwoMilkyditto. They only downfall of the Huxwrx is it only has a 10k round life. What's the life on this one because that will determine my choice
@@AaaaandYerDhem depends on the barrel length. It'll last more than 10k. Whoever said that number is very wrong
The Velos is way better then the Huxwrx cans especially in longevity! And they cost less and are stronger and are versatile in the mounts. ECCO Machine makes the adapters.
@@AaaaandYerDhem looked more into and you're correct, I've heard it only if you don't clean it. But still that kinda sad
Another great review!! Thanks!
All my SiCo cans are missing paint… burnt right off first range day.
Very interesting.
You don't recommend Rocset? Why not?
God forbid my can get scratches on it. 😆
Lol
Great video sir. Any thoughts on Velos 556K and Flow 556K? Equal in gas blow back?
It would be useful to put the weight and length WITH the mount. Nobody shoots the can without a ASR mount. Per silencerco it’s 18.74oz and 6.75” long with ASR mount.
I will changing mine to Atlas, but I hear you.
I'm confused by the lack of recommendation for the industry standard Rocksett
I was wondering the same thing
Please try a hand load with 52gr and N130 I think you will find a nice sound reduction
Great point re: SA/SF weapon hosts vs bolt-action. This is what I hope Jay tackles at Pew Science: I am not super interested in the 300blk sub numbers on a bolt-action. Standardize to whatever you want to use, but we need SA readings.
I have a HX-QD 762 in jail, and while it may not be the quietest, I love how I am not eating gas with every round.
How is the flash suppression at night
Good question. The end cap appears to be shaped to accomplish a low signature. Except for the SiCo webpage, I seen any independent online tests.
Does it take industry standard hub adapters?
Now that I know it takes dead air keymo charlie mounts im going to pick up 2 or 3 of them
How about a 762 Longer can for magnum 30 cals . I would have no problem with one the size of the Nomad L with the Ebrake
Good video, just wondering what this gets you over the saker k
Saker cans are known for being gassy because they are 556 dedicated and more focused on sound suppression, this can is about 40% more durable 5% louder but the flow through aspect makes a huge difference, gun runs cleaner, no gas to the face, don’t have to tune your gun at all. Also it comes with an internal flash hider.
Less gas blow-back is the big one.
All i care about is rounds rating. Gotta beat the 10k rating on the flow can by a lot.
How does this compare to the Ventum?
Will the ASR mount fit onto the SOLGW “NOX”? or will i need a Keymo adapter to slap on the velos?
Would you recommend this for a 7.5" barreled AR?
Why don't you use Rocksett?
Wait, you don’t recommend using Rocksett?? What do you recommend?
Proper torque. Rocksett is at best useless, and at worst a dangerous crutch for improper installation.
I'm in the Rocksett camp, but only after correct thread prep/cleaning, and only *with* correct torque, using a Precision Armament Accu-Washer. Most users skip steps or glob-on the Rocksett. You literally only need a single drop hanging from a toothpick....That's it.
Like CA said above, most users are just lazy and use too much Rocksett along with some BS gud-n-tite caveman tightening procedure....and then complain about their can backing off.
Is there one for the Ruger SFAR?
Can’t decide between this or the griffin hrt
Griffin dual lok 5 is lighter and quieter with a better finish.
Rockset is easy to remove with just water
You said you don't recommend rockset, why not?
Do you use rocksett on the lug nuts of your cars tires? That should answer your question. If properly torqued to specs, it’s not necessary.
@ARes13FOX only if I'm not gonna be taking them off constantly. Like the suppressor I'm gonna keep nd marry it to the gun like a direct thread. I won't be taking them on nd off.
@@ARes13FOX That's a stupid analogy.
@@BCM16AR only to a dumb dumb like you. Torque settings are torque settings for a reason whether it be a lug nut or whatever. If you want to put rockset, go ahead. No one is telling you not to. But if you ask me, I would be more worried about my tire flying of my truck driving 90MPH on a Texas highway, than my flash hider coming loose on any of my rifles.
Rather get a high-pressure can with an adjustable gas block imho
What's the round life on this can?
More than you can afford
If you can clean the lead accumulation out after 50k rds, maybe triple that?
That multi colored AR is overgassed as shit
Not at all actually--- that rifle is about as good as it gets for a factory upper.
Until a can is real world hearing safe, NO reason to buy a suppressor for 5.56. MUCH cheaper to just wear hearing protection then a can and tax stamp. You still have to wear ear pro so the can is irrelevant. What possible use is a can for 5.56? Muzzle devices mitigate flash and backpressure without the need for a suppressor. If your using a SUPRESSOR your should be shooting subsonic ammo. If your rounds don't come in subsonic, there is no need for a suppressor. Switch to 300 blackout and a 30cal can.
Shooting indoors 556 and 762 sucks, especially on smaller ranges. Over ears don't even have enough db reduction to prevent hearing damage long term with those calibers, I have to double up plugs with over ears. Shooting suppressed results in a muuuch more enjoyable shooting experience from both a sound, concussive, and recoil perspective even if it's not hearing safe.
Why don’t you guys like rocksett? It keeps your muzzle device on there and it’s water soluble. if you ever need to swap muzzles, just leave the front end of your rifle in a pan of water for 24 hours.
Boil muzzle for a few minutes , then dip in ice water , use wrench , presto !
When there is no context there is no telling how the suppressor works if at all. How about talk, say something, clap, fart, sobering so we can compare that to the noise coming from the gun. Understand we aren’t there! So this video was basically pointless!
