When the doctor regenerates, there's always a period where he doesn't know who he is, where he is or what he's supposed to be doing, and he's kind of running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Matt Smith had that goofy kind-of ADHD side, but he could also do the moments when the Doctor's cheerful mask slips and he becomes bloody scary.
Can you imagine Jody Whittaker trying to do Peter Capaldi's anti-war speech from The Zygon Inversion? Or Matt Smith's speech from The Rings of Akhaten? Or trying to even get CLOSE to David Tennant as the Timelord Victorious from The Waters of Mars (where the Doctor was vastly more scary than the evil water monsters)? Nope, me neither :/

Matt Smith, like Jodie Whitaker, had never seen an episode of Doctor Who, past or present, when he got the role.
The difference is that upon landing the role, Matt Smith immediately binge watched 200 episodes of classic Doctor Who (where he discovered his love of Patrick Troughton's 2nd Doctor), the entire modern series, and did a fuck ton of research on the lore of the show, whereas Jodie Whitaker did nothing but think about how she can inject her political beliefs into the show.

To busy being furious with one another to see that companies like the BBC, Amazon, Google etc are getting richer and richer, whilst their lives stay the same. I suppose it’s just a coincidence that studies have shown that the more culturally diverse a work force is, the less likely it is to unionise. Well they’re gonna widen those divides as much as possible, and they’re going to lobby the politicians for as much immigration as possible. I also think he means that people who are stupid have to eat the purple crayons to figure out that they taste like paraffin wax and not grape whereas smarter people can gauge both that the taste is terrible just by examining the crayon and also by the fact that they know crayons aren't food. I would say the same about paste eaters.

The amount of braincells lost went so high that not even numbers could count. @@xerobeta I respect your thoughts about that. Personally I've always felt that it was a thematically appropriate facade, even if they did go overboard at times with portraying him as a goofball especially in Series 7. This is considering with the Day of the Doctor introducing the War Doctor, that meant Eleven is actually supposed to be the final regeneration of the Doctor and no going back from there until the Time of the Doctor's events grants him more regenerations.
That meant once he dies without those regenerations, it's over for him period, and instead of acting old and weary in thinking about all the losses he had, he decides to cope in his own way with a carefree at times childlike nature, plus the dialog of him being named by the Moment as "The man who forgets", it's clear on why he did so even how he ended up with Amy as his companion when she was a child herself and all. Not to mention when he comes to terms with who he is, like in Rings of Akhaten, his speech reflects on how he's been all this time, of having lived too long and seen too much, which reminded me of Ten when he also becomes reflective convincingly enough (to me anyway).

Every episode they had to shoehorn in her telling someone she was gay. There’s just no need for it. Let it be known like once or twice with a sly remark or something natural, we didn’t need reminders like a bat to the head every episode. We get it, y’all are woke. Great. The new “Dr” is just the worst. The Timeless Child bullshit retcons and ruins so many of the great past stories. The Dr dying on Trenzalore was a storyline that stretched from multiple seasons, it was a really big deal, and then Clara got the Time Lords to sacrifice their only way back to give him more regenerations, except the Child story line totally wiped out the impact of that. It also wipes out any real drama since he can always regenerate. They’ve just shat on 50yrs of story telling and canon so they can have a female and minority Dr and Master. So pathetic. There were so many easier ways to add a female or black time lord it’s not even funny. Hell, Jenny, The Drs Daughter, is still out there roaming the galaxy, why not just bring her back? I really tried to give this new “dr” a chance. I really did. I made it 10 min into her debut, and I just couldn’t do it. It’s not all her fault, altho admitting she did zero research into a character that’s been around for 50+ yrs was a massive mistake and it shows, the biggest problem is the writing. Chibnal is just the worst. He clearly cares way more about his politics, and bowing to the altar of Wokeness than he cares about good storytelling. I’d say the BBC is 40% at fault, Chibnal is 50% and what’s her name is 10%. She should be higher, but the BBC and Chibnal brought her in, and they control the stories, so they have to take most of the blame.

When season 13 ends I picture the following scene:
Whittaker wakes up after regeneration. She re-regenerates as Whittaker... She starts out as a typical doctor, finding herself but wondering, because it seems all to familiar... Then she looks into a mirror, realizes, that she just stayed the same with visible disappointment (if there has ever been any good use of deepfake, that would be it, because I doubt that Whittaker will play this). She realizes, that she has just started as this doctor again, looks into the camera (4th wall break) and says: "Oh no... not that shit again!" and wills herself into another regeneration.
Or even better: They get Capaldi for another shot... He wakes up from what has seemed to be regeneration-indicated lost of consciousness... He realizes that he just had the worst fever dream ever. "Damn, this regeneration feels like it takes an eternity!" and then he regenerates and the REAL season 11 starts. (that's my favourite)

A resort, working in the far ruined future sends magical transporting invitations BACK in time. People use these invitations in the past to send themselves and the people around them unwittingly into the FUTURE to this "vacation spot."
The resort needs money (from time travelers? Is modern money still valuable in the future? Can I take my roman empire currency and use it in today's best resorts?) so it can fund terraforming Earth back to being habitable. Because for some reason, the resort has the ability to pay a likely alien species to help save the planet. (How does this resort make/provide food to its clients?)
They couldn't just send a warning back through time, with information on how to build their technology to counter global warming?
Here's the technology you need capable of mass producing food, space level protection, time travel and more. Oh, and just make this climate mcguffin so the world doesn't get ruined and have humans evolve into monsters of what must have been millions of years.
The whole "Dystopia is NOW" shtick that people are pushing is getting so old...

To be fair, I don’t think they send the invites back in time. The Doctor must’ve gotten them the last time he/she was in that time period. That doesn’t make it any better mind you, how the hell do the things manage to transport them to the resort through time if they’re not built for it. At best they’re not connected to the teleporters on the resort but then it would just send them based on coordinates and they’d end up on regular earth in Siberia at whatever time they’re in right now. They’d have to be just at the right time by complete chance for it to work.
And well if they work that way then the plot crumbles the second that old guy dies and they could’ve just teleported back to the resort if they had packed cubes with them.
