Reciban mis saludos y exito en tan linda obra
I'm a Tausug but I know how to speak Chavacano. Zamboangenyo Chavacano to be specific.. I was born at Jolo but I started schooling at Zamboanga. The difference between Cavite and Zamboanga, when the chavacano dialect is concern, is that Zamboanga City really uses Chavacano every day. When you go to pueblo(Town proper), almost all can speak chavacano fluently and even the city officials would highly encourage all the people of zamboanga to speak chavacano. That's maybe why the chavacano in cavite is slowly dying out, which I think is a loss. Being a person who can understand and speak chavacano, I' am quite proud of it and I have grown to it. And I' am a proud that I can speak a language that some of the zamboangenyos speak in the old days.
Hi! I am from Zamboanga City, a kid that grew up speaking Chavacano and I believe Chavacano will never be forgotten although not studied. Big percent of the population of Zamboanga City can speak chavacano fluently and even though they can't speak fluently but still they understand it.
In Mexico and some Central American countries we say "platicar" (in Spanish). Most spanish speakers don't use that word, it feels nice that is used in Chabacano de Zamboanga too!

'Tis sad that few people in Cavite these days speak the language. My maternal relatives speak Chavacano, and I do make an effort to learn the language more or less at my own pace. The situation with Chavacano also reminds me of the controversy with Irish usage being put by the wayside in favour of English in Ireland. Some felt this resulted in a loss of cultural identity, and it is the same thing with Chavacano.

To bring back Spanish language as spoken ones in the country and as official language alongside English, the Article XIV, Section 6 of the 1987 constitution or the language policy, has to be amended by removing unfair designation of Tagalog as the basis of national language at the expense of others like Cebuano or Ilocano, make English and Spanish languages as official languages be used in government administration and public education purposes, and let regions to control their language policies, thus preserving regional languages. After amending the language policy provision, to really revive Spanish, the Philippine government should reach agreements with Spanish and Latin American governments in sending Hispanophone professionals especially teachers to the Philippines to teach Spanish to Filipinos from all walks of life in public or private educational institutions and in exchange to that, the Philippines should send professionals to work in Latin America and Spain, so that if they return to the country, they can further teach Spanish to the people. In order for Spanish language not be limited its usage in schools, Spanish and Latin American professionals should infiltrate entertainment and journalism industries, so that the spread of Spanish language would be continuous and become mainstream especially among masses through proliferation of Spanish TV and radio broadcasts, periodicals, tabloids, movies, and internet websites because through this, people would start to speak Spanish in daily basis and have their children be trained as native Spanish speakers. If my recommendations were to be followed by the government, the Philippines would become 100% Spanish-speaking country like Mexico in 50 years after implementation. Of course, this is not our priority for now, but when this thing happen, Filipinos can have another edge to a wider oppurtunity!
It is unfair, we province people have to learn 3 languages while the ncr only 2. If spanish and English were the main languages and each region have their ethnic central languages. We will all have 3 languages to learn and will help the local languages live while retaining the language that were the proper lingua franca. I've been trying to learn spanish recently and it's a lot easier than english thanks to the deeper connection the local languages have with spanish.

I learned Chavacano in Ternate Cavite and I am still proud of what I have learned
that's was on 1989, I don't know how to write it, but I can still fluently speak Chavacano (maybe little bit rusty but a two weeks practice will do).Because I haven't converse with native Chavacano for the past 25 years.

Spanish language must be taught again in the Philippines
Chabacano del Cavite:
¿Dónde está el sandok?
Está en el dingding nakasuksok 😄
bat parang Español na yata yan sinasalita mo kesa Chavacano 😂
nag-aaral ako ng español so yeah hehe
'Tis sad that few people in Cavite these days speak the language. My maternal relatives speak Chavacano, and I do make an effort to learn the language more or less at my own pace. The situation with Chavacano also reminds me of the controversy with Irish usage being put by the wayside in favour of English in Ireland. Some felt this resulted in a loss of cultural identity, and it is the same thing with Chavacano.
San nakakabili nyan?
try nio pumunta ng zamboanga city mas marami don chavacano .,

Just move forward to Spanish to be one of Official i so much agree with it.
You mean spanish not chabacano because chabacano wasn't our third language it's spanish.
@@jonathanestrabillo6721 it will always be our official language but im talking about Spanish as our second language instead of English.

Zamboangueno chabacano is quite similar to caviteno chabacano. They can be intelligible if they speak slowly to one another. Desde Zamboanga City! Viva chabacano!
Soy Filipino y Mexicano. I LOVE CHABACANO ❤
If someone reads this from this day forward please let me know how to contact the mr Escalante or where to buy the book. I am interested on learning the chabacano language (cavite) and looking forward to form a group of people inside cavite who's interested on bringing back the language to fellow Caviteños.
Mag pacontest sa pagsasalita ng chavacano.
Sir Ike Escalante died few years ago. We have Caviteño/Ternateño chabacano group in FB called "SoloChabCav".

i speak chavacano de zamboanga and I am proud of it. I am proud that people else where are speaking it too. There maybe little differences, but still I can understand the chavacano dialect he is speaking. I have read that in some places in Sabah speaks chavacano too.
Hey for the native speaker of chavacano. I suggest to work in a BPO industry or call center in Spanish and english language. It gives you a good carrer and a GOOD pay.
Marunong parin. Kahit san man mapadapad sa mundo. Proud Zamboanguenia Here 😇

And the Philippines will be the second most spanish speaking country after mexico,
It is unfair, we province people have to learn 3 languages while the ncr only 2.

Yo comprendo bastante bien el chavacano. Se parece mucho al español
When the spanish subject was dropped in college curriculum , enthusiasm follows, but honestly speaking,I don’t see any significance on our daily lives per se.,not until I stumble on this kind of vlog that explain the contribution of Spanish era to the Filipino culture.

@Mestizo....
