I think a lot of people mistake "will survive" with "perfectly fine." You can keep fish in cups and bowls, with no heaters or filters, they'll survive, but their life will suck and they'll die young. "The pet store said I only need this cup because bettas breathe from the surface." I facepalm almost daily in this hobby.

"One of our teachers ate bark..." Honestly, that sounds like a plus for a biology teacher.
I have good memories of high school Biology class, since I had a teacher who was fairly passionate about it and Biology is the only one of the "hard sciences" that I find genuinely interesting. The subject which I consistently had the worst teachers in was History, including a college World History professor who straight up presented Evangelical conspiracy theories as historical fact. Oh, the joys of growing up in the American South.

I managed to get "a filter is needed for the build up of beneficial bacteria, to do all that ammonia to nitrite to nitrate stuff" to my class.

When i first went to college, I went in as an education major, as i wanted to teach art and biology. Once i saw I'd be taking tons of classes on education and related topics, and basically no biology or art classes, i changed my major.
Teachers don't know the subjects they teach because they arent inherently required to. They only need to know how to teach a subject, and unfortunately our education system seems to think regurgitating information off a PowerPoint slide is more than sufficient, no legitimate understanding of the topics you teach is needed.
I have learned more from jobs, volunteering, books, and CZcams than I ever did or ever can in a classroom setting.

The only logical reason i can think of for someone to dump the fish out of water and let them flop to the water would be that because they have such a mass number, it allows them to single out the dead/ dying ones. The ones that are good to go get to the water, all they have to do is pick up the ones that didnt get there.
Also: I had a biology teacher in like 8th grade and one of the kids was playing games and disrupting the class with it, and she threw the kid's laptop across the room and it broke. Idk if she ended up paying for the damages or not, but she was kinda crazy like that sometimes. She rode a motorcycle to school, so that was nice. XD

Even I know about pythons. Fortunately had a very good biology teacher in college. The thing sucked about his class was that he didn't create his own exams his student who is majoring in biology did so nothing ever sounded or seemed like what it was in the book.
To academic. I had to pray through that class and take it twice. Still remember what I learned

there is a clear difference between knowledge and experience, because anyone with patience could learn to keep an aquarium healthy from try and error , but learning about fish keeping without doing it before hand is bad too so its best to have both knowledge and experience so do a lot of research minimum 4 hours before getting a new fish species then learn from your mistakes over time building up experience

I wonder if the gourami was in QT? Still think that tank is too small, even for QT, but the tank it's in, doesn't look like it's actually scaped, maybe a picture background instead. Tank looks completely bare... Maybe even a salt or med dip? 🤷‍♀️

So true most biology teachers have no clue about the subject. My high school teacher tried to convince me that dolphins are fish because the live in water....

I found a tank on CZcams clips, posted it on ftr on petscord. It was a small tank, probably less than 10 gals, and a young arowana in it. Barely enough room for it to turn around.

7:18 this tank is a way to small for all these fish. The little Basses need at least 112 liters and the little catfish must live in groups with at least 7
