The Gewehr 43 or Karabiner 43 (abbreviated G43, K43, Gew 43, Kar 43) is a 7.92×57mm Mauser caliber semi-automatic rifle developed by Germany during World War II. The design was based on that of the earlier G41(W), but incorporated an improved short-stroke piston gas system similar to that of the Soviet Tokarev SVT-40.Production of the Gewehr 43 began in Oct 1943, and in 1944, the design was renamed Karabiner 43 (or K43).
sturdier design and mechanism of the G43 made it lighter, easier to produce, more reliable and also much tougher than the Gewehr 41;

Ive found that just hipfiring the thing works wonderfully at "close" ranges as you only need to hit the guy once and you have 10 rounds which you can spam off faster than they can rack the bolt. basically use the damn thing as a glorified smg with some long range accuracy(which funnily enough is my guide for most weapons in the game except for the bolties)

What I learned while playing Enlisted:
1. ALWAYS INVEST ON YOUR ENGINEERS
2. BUILD RALLY POINTS
3. WHEN SOMEONE IS FIRING OR ABOUT TO FIRE AT YOU, GET PRONE FAST
4. WELL PLACED ARTILLERY STRIKE IS GOD SENT
5. ME, WHEN PLAYING GERMANS. MP40 AND G43 IS YOUR END GAME GUN UNLESS YOU GET ASSAULTER III AND SNIPER III FOR LATE GAME GERMAN BIAS. MACHINE GUN SUCKS AT HOLDING(sometimes)
6. DOUBLE SLOT BOMB AND AMMO IS FREAKIN USEFUL AT ALL TIMES
7. PLANES SUCK IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED WAR THUNDER

All my Squads on Normady have G43s, besides the Assaulters, Tankers, and Snipers. I feel like I have a pretty modern fighting force now that I grinded to have fully-semi automatic rifles.

To be honest I just stopped using the Kar98k after I unlocked the Gewher 43. 90% of the time it one shot downs or outright kills anyone you hit at close to mid range, the only disadvantage is the iron sights are a bit hard to use at long range compared to the Kar98. But at that point you shouldn’t even be using an infantry rifle, you should just grab any other sniper.
