He actually did release this as a book first to some moderate success from what I gather. Hence his desire to proceed with attempting to get a pilot animated. I wish him luck, but I do agree it's going to be a tough uphill battle. I further agree with MangaKamen that it may be wise to stick to a 2-5 minute format until the series has enough popularity and funding rolling in to consistently create 22-26minute episodes.
I thought this project died years ago. Hmm color me shocked.

What concerns me about this project is that Mr. Enter seems to know nothing about budgeting. He doesn't need 300k to make this, he could just hire a few animators (which definitely won't cost as much), and make the pilot that way! It will be cheaper and not look like TV quality but guess what Mr. Enter, if you really want your vision to be fully realized and ever be done you need to set realistic expectations for it!
Overambition combined with Enter's lack of formal education in producing television shows let alone animation is what caused this fundraiser to fail.

It's cool of you to offer constructive advice instead of just mindlessly hating on the project. Hopefully, he sees this video and takes it into account.
Sadly, I'm not optimistic about this thing turning out even halfway decent. The snippets I've read in the book aren't good at all. And I just don't see how he can tackle "super serious, non sugar-coated issues" in a show that has such a ridiculous premise.I mean...how can he tackle sexuality in a show when most of the main characters are young kids who do not want to grow up? Sexuality is something that people don't typically deal with until they're teens. And it's one of the stepping stones to becoming an adult. How the hell can he show young child characters discovering their sexuality in a world where becoming an adult turns a person into a second class citizen? Is that going to be part of the conflict?
A good writer MIGHT be able to make it work. But, judging from the Growing Around book, Mr Enter is nowhere near a good enough writer to convince an audience to suspend disbelief for the insane universe he created.
The thing that gets me is the concept art is really inconstant. The characters look different in his trailer and look different in every other concept art. Keeps me and probably a lot of people from donating.
I think he should have cut down on the goal. $350,000 for a 22+ minute pilot is a tall order.
Plus funding the rest of the episodes via Patreon doesn't seem viable.
No kidding that this would be a Diet Codename Kids Next Door, though the stigma of today's cartoons has me a bit...skeptic.
If ever, this'd be a PG or PG-13 series, if it ain't gonna sugarcoat that is... Surely an ambitious project for Enter, that is if his project gets successfully funded & get it off the ground.
Would be a breath of fresh air, though I'm conflicted if it'll ever succeed...

@Hub Pie I used to be a fan of his as well, but dropped off a year ago or so. I dunno why, but for some reason, he just kept getting worse over the years, rather than better like Doug Walker or James Rolfe did. Their styles evolved into what we know now, while Mr. Enter's style seemed to have become more and more jerky and somewhat insecure, especially given how he seemingly ignores constructive criticism.

If you've moved on from Mr Enter to this guy, then I'd suggest turning around.
I wish Mr. Enter good luck. It's a long shot, but if he gets more help and support it could work out in his favor.
I appreciate how this video is much calmer and focused compared to other ones I've seen so far. I think lack of proof of concept and Enter being waaay too ambitious with the budget really killed this indiegogo. A big part of animation is all about visuals and most of what he talked about/showed in the video focused on the writing. If 250K/350K of the budget was to go towards animation alone then really there should have been some animatics or storyboards or something to show that the animation was worthwhile to invest into. He should have started on a much smaller scale since he doesn't have experience making cartoons. Really he just overestimated the amount of interest people would have.
I just love animation and also Harry. This was an nice change of pace.

There was a brief web comic on his DeviantArt, but honestly I don't think there was even more than ten entries so, yeah he should consider doing more of that.
Also, I don't think he uses Windows Movie Maker anymore, but I do know he's actually hired an editor.
Other than that, I'm just surprised you're talking rather positively about Mr. Enter... does this mean I should look out for pigs in the sky?
He did write a Growing Around book actually. Ordered a hard copy of it from Amazon. It's a pretty good story, imaginative world, distinctive characters. That was a couple years ago though, and his writing has definitely improved since then.

How Growing Around got started, via the Mr. Enter Wiki: "In Mr.Enter's review of the Shorty Mcshorts Shorts, one of those shorts was Flip Flopped, a cartoon whose idea was that Aging LITERALLY works backwards, Nothing else has changed. Mr Enter is sad that such a good idea got wasted, so he and Nayolfa reworked it."

The consensus opinion seems to be that Jon is running the risk of biting off more than he can chew, and that he would be well advised to start doing due diligence to whatever extent he is able. Has he spoken to anybody connected with an animation school? There are quite a few of them around the continent. He should be looking for people with showreels to give him a reality check. Also, he should give some thought to exactly how he's going to market this thing, if he plans on rushing into tricky subject matter. An IP producer like Hasbro has reasons for being extremely careful with how they approach things; all it would take is one thing being misunderstood and the whole project could come crashing down
I highly recommend you have Mr.Enter see Tomska. Tomska is doing an animated series called Crash Zoom which had a very similar campaign. Tom is well know for helping with animated pieces and is one of the most experienced people when it comes with large projects like fully animated episodes. Please check out his youtube and his second channel talks more about the Crash Zoom project.
The thing is, TomSka has actually proven that he knows what he's doing, while Mr. Enter has proven that he's turned a project of his into a personal Groverhaus.
I too see danger in this project but a lot of potential nice to see people are looking at it in a balanced perspective. He did make a vid of two on growing around on his channel answering a lot of questions people had and had a spoiler stream showing some of the art talking more in depth about what is planned ECT. There is already a book growing around party panic on Amazon as well sold under his name Jon enter. Just to address a few points also it was very kind of you to give him tips suggested animators to talk to and such all in all great video keep up the good work.
I am surprised that Mr. Enter would be involved in something like this.. He always came off as someone who did not like kids to me..

ForNoGoodReason Not really. There is nothing wrong with not liking kids, unless you mistreat them. Heck I dislike 90% of the kids that come into our store ( I work for a huge retail company ). Though I still treat them nicely and not just cause I could get in trouble if I didn't but because I am a decent person.
That aside I guess I was wrong about him. Maybe he does like kids. Idk

As someone who found his channel because of this shit and actually watched his videos(which I actually like),I feel like before he started a campaign he should have written a book or web comic to feel it out so that people would get a generally idea.
There's a book that exists already that he made of this, but it was bad.
He doesn't know what the idea is either, which is rich given how long he's been cooking this up.
Course at this point, he's probably trying to get diamonds the long way.

I still see potiental, but I'm a kid at heart. I wish him luck, but it's gonna be tough! This concept is much better suited for comic strips or books. And yes he did publish a book, and it's pretty good based on what I remember. You can read his scripts on his Deviantart, they're okay I guess. Better than my stories.
Tbh I have mixed feelings about mrenter, and as for this cartoon he plans on making, in my honest opinion it seems meh like it's not the worst thing I've seen but at the same time it doesn't seem like something I'd be all that invested in, who knows maybe after it comes out my opinion might change

It is not necessarily quality, but, relationships all the way down to Hollywood that is worrying, which helps the heavy lifting.

as for the sexuality he never said it was about experiencing sex just it would touch on the topic of sexuality those are different things. Talking about sexuality can just be talking about attraction romantically with how broad the category is described today. the adults act like kid no he has stressed that question the kids still act like kids adults still act like adults the power dynamic is just reversed.
also given the rating and reviews on the book I think he will have an audience to back up at least it being somewhat successful and the fact it wasn't filtered I presume it is acceptable for younger audiences
