Buying some really strong models to add to my existing army (or bringing back old favourites) is one of the most fun parts of the hobby for me! Painting it up and imaging all the cool things I'll pull off with the new models is so fun.
I also think the meta in games like this is really fake. Sylvaneth weren't seen as a very strong army and treelords seemed awful until one guy popped off with them and all of a sudden Sylvaneth were good again - despite nothing changing. I guarantee there are multiple insanely S-tier lists that nobody has pushed to the limit yet just waiting to be discovered.
Are we getting more "start playing" videos?

The old spend 3 months building and painting the best army, play it for 2 weeks and watch it get nerfed to the ground strat.
I usually don't meta chase, however when the stormcast dragons came out i didnt shy away from using them in my cities army! Also i now prefer to play skaven as they''re so cool to play and even you get better and more creative when you keep tryng to playe them.
Well that change to Rupture serves me right for chasing that meta, just got a Krondspine proxy. But it's probably still worth giving him a whirl here and there. Almost feels like a gamble whether someone will bring Rupture to counter it just in case.
I think the Rupture change is enough to eliminate Krondspine from most lists outside of Tzeentch, so I doubt you'll see Rupture as a counter much other than the few who go with Shaman of the Chilled Lands to know all the spells.

I paint far too slow to chase the meta tbh. i do keep up with the meta though, and learn rules n such.
Hi, I played khorne in 2023 with a 70% winrate over 50+ games, I switched in December for ij and I’m still learning the army being under 40% winrate (15 to 20 games atm), but I feel I’m getting better at the game playing a weaker army. Don’t think chasing the meta help you to progress that much.
So looking at the skaven part of the battle scroll, I din’t there is a need for me to chase the skaven meta, as it doesn’t exist😂

Dont care about "meta" we called em min-maxers back in my mmo rpg days.
I love playing my ogors, either meatfist or boulderheads, send em forward, see what survives. Very simple.
I've just about got what I want for for my 2k sylvaneth 2nd army. I like their lore & models and its a completely different playstyle.
Never Meta Chase. Only Theme Chase! Better for your mental health!
I just started with Seraphon without knowing they were OP, I'll be really sad if they got overnerfed and I can't win games with them =( My friends told me Krondspine but it's not a dino so I don't want it haha
I think we're safe. We just got nerfed. Kroak went up, and they nerfed the Kroak bomb. I still feel very strong, and win a lot of games. I'm not sure we're OP, but we're definitely a contender. Krondspine is OP and will almost certainly be nerfed. Possibly merciless blizzard as well, but everyone has access to that. Hoarfrost is OP as well, but again everyone has access.
I don't see a world where you guys get over-nerfed, but I think some adjustments are likely! If I had to guess I'd say just some points increases at this point to things like the Slann, Kroak, Arks of Sotek, and Raptadon Chargers.
@@warpfireminis I'm on board with all of that, especially the chargers being increased. The place they really need to do that is in Cosmic Power Points. They're super cheap to get out every round for free.
I'd pay more for a Slann. If they push Kroak much more I suspect he might start getting dropped for a 2nd Slann. Anyway, love the content. Thanks for the discussion!

@@warpfireminis I was pleasantly surprised. I redid my battleline and dropped some warriors for guard, but otherwise haven't changed anything. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Oh, there was a minor nerf with Merciless Blizzard requiring concentration, but that applies to all factions.
