  • ULTIMATE TOUR OF THE OREGON COAST: HWY 101 FROM ASTORIA TO BROOKINGS. LOCALS FAVORITE STOPS! Hello everyone and welcome to another adventure. In this video Kim and I travel the entire Oregon Coast from Astoria Oregon in the North all the way to Brookings, Oregon in the South. As locals we have been traveling to the Oregon Coast for years. We are going to take you to some of the most scenic areas of the Coast you may not have known existed.
Thoughts fade away along this wind-swept shoreline, home to soaring sand dunes, pristine state parks and bustling harbors.
It doesn't get much more coastal than this region. And thanks to a pioneering beach bill, all 363 miles of Oregon's coastline remain free and public. That means endless opportunities to comb for agates or glass floats, catch your own Dungeness crab or razor clam, watch for whales, seals and puffins, make footprints in the sand or simply be captivated by a winter storm from inside a cozy beachfront lodge. No matter the season, the Oregon Coast is a rejuvenating getaway.
Things are different on the Southern Oregon Coast.
Wild and scenic rivers are rowdier, beaches are less crowded and trails offer more rugged terrain. If you're looking for crowds, the Southern Oregon Coast is not for you. But if outdoor adventures, secluded beaches, artistic communities and fresh coastal cuisine light your fire, the Southern Oregon Coast is your next destination.
SAMUEL H. BOARDMAN STATE SCENIC CORRIDOR
This corridor is a 12-mile, forested linear park with a rugged, steep coastline interrupted by small sand beaches. This park was named in honor of Samuel H. Boardman, the first Oregon Parks superintendent. He and others of his generation felt this shining coastline should be saved for the public. What gems they gave us: admire the 300-year old sitka spruce trees, gaze at the amazing Arch Rock and Natural Bridges, and walk the 27 miles of Oregon Coast Trail that weave through the giant forests.
Seaside prairies, spectacular vistas, secluded cove beaches, rugged cliffs and forested sea stacks come one after the other throughout this park. Stand and ponder the old shell middens and wonder what it was like to live in a Native American village by the Pacific Ocean.
    WALDPORT, YACHATS AND SEAL ROCK
Not everyone knows about this enchanting stretch of the Oregon Coast. And that's probably a good thing.
Here you have plenty of room to explore, whether that means hiking, biking or paddling - along rocky shorelines and long, sandy beaches; bays, rivers and estuaries; coastal mountains and temperate old-growth rainforest. Trails range from wheelchair-accessible to difficult, so every family member can get outdoors. Surrounded by nature, each community has its own distinct character. Discover a variety of amenities in these friendly villages: fishing and crabbing; shops, art galleries and restaurants; campgrounds, cottages and luxury lodges. At Yachats, Waldport and Seal Rock, it's all up to you.
