Eric seems to be focusing a lot more on OTB tournaments as of late. I don't think he's officially said anything about it, but I do suspect this is because he's gunning for the GM title, so would certainly be nice for him to get a norm!
The London helped me win a lot of games in my early stage of chess, but now at the intermediate level, most of my opponents are already familiar with the London setup, and I tend to lose a lot of games with the London. I was even already considering abandoning the London opening, but this video has inspired me to study the London more and improve my game. Thanks a lot, Rosen! 🤗💓
London for the win !!!!! You're the reason why I played the London since I started chess and still do, I studied it for hours and hours but I still need a lot of work on it.
@@thomasdequincey5811 Not interested in those openings, I'm not some 2600. I recommend watching GothamChess's video called "stop playing these openings"
@@thomasdequincey5811 Just as a sense of scale, the first time gothamchess started to learn about these openings you're saying along with the italian, is a few months ago. Those openings are unbelievably extensive and build no consistency for my level, if I ever try to learn those openings then you will know that I'm a titled player already. You can see how that 2000 player fell for a well known trap, in fact up until like move 18 in their game, I already had that same position in my london study and I put a note with it saying "white is much better and will win the endgame". Even in bullet chess, I won more than 70% of my games with the london, and I almost never get a worse position before move 20, literally my worst fear in the london is getting a dead 0.00 position Look, even Ding won against Nepo with the london in WCC2023, and Alireza won against Ding recently with it, I ain't planning to quit this opening ever, even GM Aman Hambleton said the london is a big reason why he got to where he is.
8:45 мне нравятся такие моменты на моих 1200. Позиция - проверка на внимательность 😅 11:33 позиция - хорошая тренировка на матование (checkmate) Спасибо за видео, было интересно 👍👍
Love the recaps. Can you generate GM standards against anyone or does that person have to be a GM themselves? Would appreciate if you did a quick display of the accuracy graph at the end too. Always interesting to me to see the other stats of the game.
My 1700 mind sees after black castles, white either loses the bishop pair, or has to move the same bishop again, losing a tempi. Sure, black can take if white went Bg3 in the game, but then is bishop bishop trade so both don't have bishop pair. There may be stuff deeper than that.
Well-played by a kiddo born in 2010! Insane how young that is to be so skilled at this game. And I understand this is one of many "young men's games," but still, crazy to be so young and talented. I just think it's important to recognize young folks doing such impressive things. (Also, obviously well-played Eric.) From a nearly 40 year old 1600.
What would u play if he took on your dark square bishop, i always try to avoid these kinda postions because it leaves a akward position after bishop trade
You skipped a lot of side lines i would have liked to see. Instead of 12 … nd7, what about ne4? Or instead of qxc5, why not nxc5 threatening to take on b7 or fork on d7? Wish i had chess rebiew software so i could look at that myself.
You can analyze the game here: lichess.org/broadcast/57th-international-chess-festival-biel-open--master/round-1/4QrbgPJL/yCQXNZgO To answer your questions, 12...Ne4 can be met with 13.Nxe4 dxe4 14.Nd2 and black will still lose a pawn as c5 and e4 are both hanging. 16. Nxc5 is totally fine, but can be met with Bc8 and black defends against the threats. I played Qxc5 so the knight could access d4 or a5 to pressure the weak c6-pawn.
I'm excited we get daily recaps now, and don't have to wait 1 month for them :)
Rosen and Rozman recaps everyday are great for chess 😊
Hello Gotham!
Savage 😂
Can’t wait for the GM Rosen vs GM Rozman match
Godhamchess 😂😂😂😂😂
I'd like to see Eric pick up a GM norm in this tourney. Go, Rosen !

London was what kept me stuck at 600 elo, once I switched to e4 I gained massive amounts of elo, 1200 now
Skill issue@@AdrianZakrzewski-t7o
No, give it up! If you want to improve
Love the OTB recaps that you do, Eric! Thank you.

Spend your time learning the Ruy Lopez or the Sicilian. You'll go a lot further than with the London.

точно есть чему поучиться в лондонской системе
Will done, Eric 😊. Thanks for the recap. I really enjoy watching your games and learning from them. Wishing you all the best for your future games 🥰
Great start! Good luck on the next round Eric
Good sound quality on the travel mic!
Could you go deeper into your calculation and other possible lines as well as more positional ideas?
Great start, really clean win, congratulations!
Good game; I didn't think you could trade off the white bishop. I learned something there.

Congrats on the early victory!
That thumbnail really trapped me into opening this video. I guess it works
Excellent, you're a great teacher, thank you.
Love it my man Rosen
Nice combination! (I'm referring of course to Thai food and sleep).
Please do a London beginner to master Speedrun ❤
Cool, all the best for upcoming matches
Good game, good luck for the rest of it
Imagine playing the London in Biel 🤔
Oh no, wheres my speedrun vid?
well done, Eric. Enjoy the Thai food.
Hello Eric 👋
Only here so I know how to defend this because I’ll see it in every other game now
Who said the London was dead 😅
no one ever said that, it's just boring
(if white doesn't care what black plays)
@@user-m8k9d As a London player, every move that black plays affects my move order or my setup entirely.
oh yes~! ty very cool
What ... you only played 4 rounds in Madrid?
What do you think of Biel as a city?

It's not great for Black to open White's h-file for him
