As usual Vir Das invents a unique solution. Institution builder, after all. Always close to the truth, irrespective of social structures, processes, norms and what not. If the audience shouted "innocent" in unison, there's no way a judge is going to ignore this evidence. This should become the norm comedians get too much love or attention from certain agencies. Imagine if everyone uploaded this and this was used as evidence to give them bail or overturn their conviction. I don't think any cop or judge can afford to imprison or arrest so many upper middle class innocent people for listening to jokes.
