  • In this video, we show you how and when to adjust the GENIE shock’s Air Volume. Watch how easy it is to optimize your bike setup and take your trail riding to the next level with the revolutionary GENIE shock technology by Specialized, a patent-pending, 2-stage air-spring shock technology that delivers the best of both worlds: a coil-like liner spring rate mid-stroke and the progressive end-stroke of an air shock.
The increased volume provided by the two chambers on the GENIE shock deliver a softer spring curve through most of the stroke, and both chambers’ air volume can be independently adjusted by adding or removing spacers - learn how to do it here.

The inflation of the shock doesn’t work as shown in this video. The air chamber doesn’t equalise, not even countless cycles in it’s 30% travel. It’s like s pogo-stick rebounding almost without damping with a harsh negative bottom-out. You have to figure out other ways to inflate the shock and even then the performance it’s questionable. Maybe my shock is already faulty out of the box..
