      In my opinion if you can find close to that price range take i7 because intel cpus are better than ryzens on laptops for now. But if its priced 200$ more than ryzen or even more priced than 200$ than go for ryzen because ryzen 7 3750H is similar to i5-8300H(not including tests where intel have much better support) and that i5 processor is good even now and will be for quite a time, because i think you don`t rly need THAT much power on the go. If you think you need and you can pay 200< more then go for i7 but at least in my country ryzen laptops are much cheaper than intels, it depends on your country prices and deals you can find :P . Just to say when i compare those i talk about laptops that have almost identical other components. Bob tested this unit czcams.com/video/EloUckKqAKc/video.html and at stock settings only experienced "only a little bit of thermal throttling", while when under-volting the issue was moot. Oh… Damned facts!.
      And even if one did experience throttling, the performance level at that point is STILL DRAMATICALLY GREATER than a unit with the 1060!GPU and for only $100 more represents a dramatically Better return on investment.

Either a cpu bottleneck or ram issue( i dont know if its ram issue. Only 6gb is usable as 2 gb is used by vega 8 gpu i guess) . I found that when you lower quality settings often you didn't see that much improvement in frame rate suggesting to me a CPU bottleneck. Now the GTX 1650 is not as powerful but its not far away so I still have that concern. I am just about to upload a live game stream performance video on this Asus TUF505 and I show BF V. Will you be able to provide some benchmarks for this laptop?

    • @OWNORDISOWN
      @OWNORDISOWN  Před 5 lety

      I have done all my testing. In fact, I streamed live on Twitch this evening showcasing the laptop. I have edited it and will be uploading it tonight . This will be followed by the review once I have done my graphs, script and filmed it.

      @@OWNORDISOWN Ah yes i saw the message you've put out, just finished watching the VOD. Sadly i can't afford the Helios 300 but the FX505 seems like a great deal to me, thanks for the benchmarks!

    Quad core occasionally bottleneck the 1660 Ti.
    Could be a better pick if its 1660 or lower like 1650.

    • @OWNORDISOWN
      @OWNORDISOWN  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes, when I tested it paired with the 1660Ti Max Q it was a bottleneck at lower resolutions. It was OK at max settings but I concern is longevity as games become more demanding, lowering settings may not yield too much improvement...

      @OWNORDISOWN  Před 4 lety

      That's a decent price, you can always buy another stick of RAM, thats cheap.

    HP 17 i7-9750h gtx 1660 ti max 144hz 16gb ram vs the asus tuf out of your vid just with dual channel 16gb(8x2) 60hz what is better?

    • @OWNORDISOWN
      @OWNORDISOWN  Před 4 lety

      The HP. The slower RAM in the TUF505 makes it perform like a 1660Ti max Q, and CPU performance is severely bottlenecked. You are better off with the Asus TUF a15. Here is my video comparing them: czcams.com/video/PMbvLYelpnI/video.html

    Which will be better for gaming and battery life : rx560x or gtx 1650

    • @OWNORDISOWN
      @OWNORDISOWN  Před 5 lety +1

      The 1650 is about 45% faster than a GTX 1050ti so will be faster than both the GTX 1050 and rx560x. As for battery life it depends on the CPU you have with that rx560x: the Ryzen 7 2700u uses the same idle juice as a 8300h but the 3550h or 3750h uses about 2w less and in my tests those CPUs have done well for battery life.
