Hiking Big Pine Creek to Lakes 1 & 2, July 2022

This is a no frills documentary style video shot by an amateur videographer (aka noobie). It provides a first person look at hiking the Big Pine Creek North Fork to the glacier fed Lakes 1 and 2, located in the Eastern Sierras of California. The commentary is such that viewers will at times be educated, entertained, and sometimes amused, but should get a sense of actually being along for the hike. Anyone who wants to know what this trail is like should invest the time to watch. Hopefully it will inspire people to get out into the wilderness and explore the beauty that is there to enjoy!

Hi! I left camp around 7:30am. I recommend going early, the hike gets a lot of southern exposure and can make for a warm hike on the uphill climb. I've gone up there before with a late start (around 10:30am) with my teenage son years ago and with our packs it got too uncomfortable to make it all the way to the lakes. Good luck on your hike, the creek will be flowing heavy this year due to all the snowpack!
