Guitar player here⊠once you learn to play a 6 string guitar, a 12 string guitar is actually quite simple to learn. Your fingers are each just essentially pressing down 2 strings instead of 1.
I see a lot of Swifties who have never played a twelve string in the comments lol. I love that Taylor is a female guitar icon, I just wished that meant more of her fans picked up the guitar as well! A twelve string is not that hard to play: the strings are thinner (lighter) and they are strung in pairs. i.e. each pair of strings is strung very close together, so you'll have no trouble holding down two at a time; it'll be just as if you were playing a six string, just that every 'string' (which is really two strings very close together) feels flatter. It might even be easier to play a twelve string than a six string. Because the strings are lighter, you don't have to press down as hard. Anyway, I hate that women in male-centric environments (like the guitar world) are constantly put in these positions that they have to 'prove' (to MEN!) that they can do things just as well as men can. I know I struggled with that for a long time when I took guitar lessons. I was more preoccupied with impressing the guitar guys than with getting out of the guitar what I wanted. We don't actually need men's validation for anything, lol. There are just as many women as there are men, so why prioritize their views? I play guitar for myself now, and I'm not impressing anybody. 12 string guitar isn't that different to 6 strings at all. 12 is still like 6 but doubled strings some are octave higher. If u can play 6 surely u can play the 12.
Is there a video playing it?? If someone can play a 6 string then they can play a 12 string providing they're strumming normal chords and Barr chords... But if you're plucking and playing different notes then it's very hard indeed
I really like Taylor Swift but this is not a big deal. You play a 12 string same as a 6 string. On a 12 string, you have 6 pairs of strings, strung very close together. This enables the player to depress two strings with each finger on the left hand. Twelve string guitars give you a âbiggerâ sound with the additional strings on the lower three (E, A and D) being an octave higher while the 3 higher strings (G, B and E) have an additional string thatâs an exact duplicate in the same octave. Thereâs no significant skill needed to play a twelve string as opposed to a 6 string. It just takes some getting used to
If you can play a 6 you can play a 12 people thinking there is some big difference are misinformed. Well there is one difference but its just that tuning a 12 takes twice as long as a 6...

N thereâs me whoâs thinking there no way I can do 4 string ukulele đ
I forgot she used to have a Tennessee accent
12 string guitar isn't that different to 6 strings at all. 12 is still like 6 but doubled strings some are octave higher. If u can play 6 surely u can play the 12.
Is there a video playing it??
If someone can play a 6 string then they can play a 12 string providing they're strumming normal chords and Barr chords...
But if you're plucking and playing different notes then it's very hard indeed
She is a genius. Lol
teenage taylor is the original girl boss
I really like Taylor Swift but this is not a big deal. You play a 12 string same as a 6 string. On a 12 string, you have 6 pairs of strings, strung very close together. This enables the player to depress two strings with each finger on the left hand.
Twelve string guitars give you a âbiggerâ sound with the additional strings on the lower three (E, A and D) being an octave higher while the 3 higher strings (G, B and E) have an additional string thatâs an exact duplicate in the same octave.
Thereâs no significant skill needed to play a twelve string as opposed to a 6 string. It just takes some getting used to
There's no way Taylors developed enough to transfer me a mil.
*now it's just a matter of time*
If you can play a 6 you can play a 12 people thinking there is some big difference are misinformed. Well there is one difference but its just that tuning a 12 takes twice as long as a 6...
