one of my favorite van conversions I've seen. You could make that extra seat with storage under it a compost toilet spot. Plenty of room for one under a flip open compartment on top.
Hay man, I have been scaring the internet for ideas on ambulance conversion ideas. After watching you video I finally found it. You have covered all the basic camping functions. Good Job!
I love the sink in the entryway, was planing on my build to make the shower in the same spot, never occurred to me to put a sink down, going to steal this idea.
FULL OF GREAT IDEAS! I LIKE the 4-wheel drive platform and the need for sturdy, balanced and weight-conscious ambulance construction. Your design decisions are ones that prompt interest and practical consideration. What a fine place for the shower!
That is a beautiful fit and finish build....thanks for the update. Enjoy Alaska, I live and play on the Canadian side up here lots of adventures to be had...….cheers
You really nailed this build perfectly. It's stunningly gorgeous and functional. The cedar ceiling gives the rig an awesome feel to it. Thanks for sharing.
This is AMAZING!!! Great 👍 job! The divider from bed to kitchen could possibly hold small hooked baskets for kitchen utensils or storage. Safe travels. Enjoy 😉
Tile work is great! Specially around the window ! What a great idea this wood bars to split the space and hold the bedding in the bedroom area! lots of good stuff in there!
Good job! This is the first real full conversion I've seen. I own an ambulance myself that I live in. I haven't done much to it. Thanks for giving me some ideas.
Fricking gorgeous. I’m convinced an ambulance is the way to go for van life. The amount of storage is amazing. I’m hesitant about gas mileage though. My social security is about half of poverty level... but I’m rich in spirit and have a fabulous dog. Lol. Maybe tow another tiny vehicle for getting around once your parked somewhere - well, more will be revealed! Great job. Mad skills. As a 70 year old woman I’m not afraid to tackle anything necessary but I’m realistic about how much skill it takes to do the kind of work you did. BTW- love the fixed bed.
Very cool. A font of info and very nice work. I'll be watching for any new ideas. Ill be looking for a 4X4 to start a build on soon for my move down to Costa Rica. Can't wait.
I've seen on CZcams all kinds of conversions (bus, truck/topper, van, etc...) but several months back I saw an ambulance conversion with all of its built in systems (AC, electrical, Heating, etc...) and built rugged, all's left to do is do some planning, maybe move stuff around and build the few things that make it useful, fits your needs and style. ;-) In short (Not!) if I was into camping, being away in nature, that would be the conversion I'd do (4WD Ambulance). Good work and enjoy (great idea for the entrance).
DUDE I LOVE THIS! Awesome job making this old ambulance a home. I'm thinking about what kind of vehicle I want to convert and lately I've been checking out ambulances. Again, terrific job. This is the best ambo conversion I've seen so far.
Thats very nice. I like the blue livery on outside.well thought out space and full size bed make a good sleep at night after a long drive i like it well done
this has to be one of the best ambo conversions i've seen!...all the clever multi-function features you've built into the inside are brilliant...and you've managed to make it look very homey...well done! :)
I am in the planning stage of my build. Figuring out what vehicle I want to use. I had eliminated the ambulance for a few reasons. After seeing the tour of your build, I think I have to put it back in to consideration. Very nice build.
As an emt trainee in the army, I had a chance to ride along with local civilian fire department ambulance. I too agree I could not build out an ambulance. Nice rig indeed though.
Completely impressed because not only did you pull off a big, comfortable bed but you didn't seem to sacrifice any storage or living space. man, that thing is COMFORTABLE! I'm glad you have a 7.3 but it was the first year of the turbos, right? I hope that holds up for you but it's low-miles and being a 4x4, shoot, I'd drop a "new" diesel in that thing in a second. My wife and I just got an LAFD 2008 E450 ambulance and drove it down there to Cabo. You just gave us tons of ideas, man. If you come to Baja, please reply to this and I'll do what I can to help.
wonderful build. looks like the truck chassis type I ambulance that had maybe an aftermarket fiberglass piece put between cab and box to enable cutting a walkthrough? that's a big deal and can't find the truck chassis with this already done. thank you for this inspirational video!!
Tint out the red lights or just put led white offf road lights all around pull out the blinker so they stayed on and have surround off road lights. It's nice 😊
i would suggest that you put holes in the bed platform that way if you have any moisture in your garage area the water will not raise and mold/mildew in that area. with the hole it will be able to breathe and release the moisture.
Well! Thank your girlfriend! That’s a tedious job! And it takes lot of patience and skills to remove these stickers without damaging the paint and not letting residues !!
Very nice. That should make your trip to Alaska comfortable. I'm debating/researching the idea of doing an ambulance conversion. I didn't realize they made Type 1 (truck chassis) ambulances with a walk through to the cab. I'd love to find one like that.
They are out there, I saw a few similar to this before i found this one. I would definitely recommend an ambulance if you're looking to do a conversion.
I am two slow months into a 1998 E450 4x4 ambulance build out. It will not be home so a bit of a different approach, but many similarities as well. I lived on a boat for 4 years alone and for two years with my wife and two teenagers. I am able to take a lot of ideas from that space and apply it to the ambulance. Looking at getting a video series started soon. One of the reasons I went with the van chassis was length. It is significantly shorter than the truck base and has a walkthrough.
This is pretty cool, I can understand how EMTs and Paramedics probably wont like the Ambulance idea but, if you try to see pasts its history and take the perspective as it being a vehicle, it offers quite some space, maybe not as long as a U-Haul or mini truck, but it does essentially has the box-bed pros. I could totally imagine adding a ladder on one side for roof access, add a solar panel on the front bit and counter weight it with a roof rack that has attachment points for roof cases. Perhaps as someone else suggested, spare wheel mount or the ability to hang up a bicycle on the rear doors via that said roof rack. (I have seen some MAN truck conversions whom some people had made a deconstruct-able bike rack.) The side and front emergency lights though, Why not put a dimmable LED system in it so they could work as camping scene-lights, with colored variants you may even be able to make the light be warmer or colder in tones? Possibilities are endless for these vehicles, you can always catch ideas from existing vans, trucks and even boats (some boat parts can be cheaper too!).
A sink as an entry step and a shower pan, genius! Why didn't I think of that? Superb conversion, very impressed with your build skills. Cedar lined closet, what luxury! What do you get for mpg and how fast can you drive this van? Going to Alaska is going to be costly for gas, isn't it? I have a Class C and its too slow with 65 mph max, and only 10 mpg on gas. I think ambulances are also gas guzzlers but may drive faster. Do you have a diesel or gas engine? I like the solid build and pre-wiring and installed cabinets on an ambulance.
Definitely gave me some ideas! Particularly shower in the entryway. I love that. No idea how I'll copy it but still. Is that a queen or twin bed? Does anyone know? I'm putting the dinensonz all together in my head but knowing that bed size is crucial
Really nice build. As others have said, use that open empty box for a toilet. With a pad on the top you wouldn't see it when not being used. You could easily put a cassette toilet in or even a standard black tank and regular RV toilet. You did a great job. Are you able to lock all those outside cabinets? I'm going to be buying one similar to yours next year but I am concerned about storing anything valuable like tools or camping gear in the cabinets and thieves having easy access. Thank you for your insight.
I know a lot have people have suggested putting a toilet in one of the seats, and I could have very easily done that, but I chose not to because having a toilet was, and is still not, a priority for me. I use public restrooms and when I dont have access to a public restrooms its usually because Im in the middle of nowhere and theres no better toilet than nature. All the exterior cabinets do lock and ive never had any issues with people getting into them
one of my favorite van conversions I've seen. You could make that extra seat with storage under it a compost toilet spot. Plenty of room for one under a flip open compartment on top.
I love the kitchen/bed set up and that u have divider between. I'd use the seat/box by the door for composting toilet box.
It's genius!
Dude that thing is rad! You did an awesome job on it!
FULL OF GREAT IDEAS! I LIKE the 4-wheel drive platform and the need for sturdy, balanced and weight-conscious ambulance construction. Your design decisions are ones that prompt interest and practical consideration. What a fine place for the shower!
probably the nicest floorplan and build ive seen
That is a beautiful fit and finish build....thanks for the update. Enjoy Alaska, I live and play on the Canadian side up here lots of adventures to be had...….cheers
What A stunning space! Loads of inspiration. I really like the expanded entryway shower.
You really nailed this build perfectly. It's stunningly gorgeous and functional. The cedar ceiling gives the rig an awesome feel to it. Thanks for sharing.
Great ambulance camper conversion!
Wow! One of the best conversions I have ever seen!
I really like this one, so clean, so good to the eyes, so smooth... Nice man... The only thing no bathroom, but so nice.
Nicest conversion yet for an ambulance, they are built tough and your bonus is 4x4, yes a shakedown in Alaska couldn't be more fitting.
The best reno of an ambulance I have seen. Very neat and homey.
Most put together, nice looking, warm, conversion I've seen on hours of youtube watching.
Thanks so much!
This is AMAZING!!! Great 👍 job!
The divider from bed to kitchen could possibly hold small hooked baskets for kitchen utensils or storage.
Safe travels. Enjoy 😉

Man that is awesome, I've been searching the internet looking for conversion suggestions. Yours tops the list!
New subscriber! What an amazing transformation! I love how solid the original construction of the vehicle is. The perfect base to do a build in!
nicest ambulance build I've seen so far! love the industrial sink idea.
Absolutely love this lay out would love to own this very neat and tidy well done.

Very nice! Love the ceiling,
Very cool. A font of info and very nice work. I'll be watching for any new ideas. Ill be looking for a 4X4 to start a build on soon for my move down to Costa Rica. Can't wait.
Great job. The work looks pro. Looking forward to updates....

Brilliant! Thank You! Enjoy your trip!
Genius idea for the shower/mud room.
What a fantastic home you have made it is amazing.stay safe from Scotland
nice setup great that you have the 7 .3 engine in this one !!!!
I THINK YOU DID A GOOD JOB IT LOOKS REAL NICE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS TO SEE WHAT YOUR ARE DOING WITH YOUR CONVERSION. ENJOY YOUR YOUR AMBLI!
DUDE I LOVE THIS! Awesome job making this old ambulance a home. I'm thinking about what kind of vehicle I want to convert and lately I've been checking out ambulances. Again, terrific job. This is the best ambo conversion I've seen so far.

A very nice job all around.
wow nice work , love the detail
Nice conversion, really well done!!
Very nicely done. Practically the only ambulance conversion I have seen with a shower inside
this has to be one of the best ambo conversions i've seen!...all the clever multi-function features you've built into the inside are brilliant...and you've managed to make it look very homey...well done! :)
Thanks so much
Dude, Another suggestion to store a spare tire & jack is an over cab basket?
I am in the planning stage of my build. Figuring out what vehicle
I want to use. I had eliminated the ambulance for a few reasons. After seeing the tour of
your build, I think I have to put it back in to consideration. Very nice build.
One of the best ambo conversions I have seen, very nice job !~!
Really nice. Beautiful build.
As a paramedic, I could never live in an ambulance. I've seen too much
As a civilian, I must know; is there a difference?
Same! It could never be too clean lol
Did you have insurance issues because it's a commercial ambulance?
Geico will not insure a used ambulance , even converted.
@@allenguimond4634 mine is with Geico. Never mentioned ambulance it's a e350 cutaway van in title and Carfax.
As an emt trainee in the army, I had a chance to ride along with local civilian fire department ambulance. I too agree I could not build out an ambulance. Nice rig indeed though.
Wow!!! Nicely done!
Awesome job on the conversion
Truly an amazing conversion!
On your way to Alaska, you should stop at the Overland Expo next month in Flagstaff, AZ. Lots of cool vehicles like yours will be there.
A thoughtful design with attention to details and function.
Great idea, enjoy your hard work!
Really awesome build!!!
Your porta potty should go under the jumpseat at the foot of your bed. You've done an amazing job!
Nice build !
You need a ceiling fan to the exterior, or you will have condensation/mold/heat issues.
finally a real conversion!!!! love it!
Nice work on that unit
Thank you for sharing I was showing my wife this idea of what I was thinking about something like this
Completely impressed because not only did you pull off a big, comfortable bed but you didn't seem to sacrifice any storage or living space. man, that thing is COMFORTABLE! You did a Great Job its the Best One.I've seen.
Luv the build
Awesome setup...1love
Best ambo build on YT! Many good ideas. Wish you'd post regularly to your channel, people will start subscribing - lots of interesting topics.
Amazing job, well done 👍
Love your build! Grreat ideas
Man I like your conversion.
Great video Brother you should make a plan or Blue print to sell people, so they can build their own !!
I love this one so pretty and you reused the cabbinets from the ambo.
Beautiful job, now I want an ambulance lol
As a full-time EMT I both appreciate the conversion, and also strongly dislike the idea of spending anymore time in one lol
Nice build.
Looks great brother no limit to where you can go with that rig.
Nice job !

Tint out the red lights or just put led white offf road lights all around pull out the blinker so they stayed on and have surround off road lights. It's nice 😊
Very good. It's very nice and a good remodel . Gives me ideas.
Really beautiful 🎉
To bad not higher ceiling 🎉🎉
Noice! Very cool, thank you for sharing

The quality of this truck is incredible
Put a composting toilet in the storage box by the door that you sit on for the table. I have seen a lot of ambulance conversions with that.
Amazing
your shower is genius!
I am doing the same thing kool build
A sink as an entry step and a shower pan, genius! Why didn't I think of that?
Superb conversion, very impressed with your build skills. Cedar lined closet, what luxury!

Wow that is Nice!!!
Best layout I've seen in an ambulance. All the others have a couch bed on the side. What's the gas mileage?
Your cedar ceiling is beautiful. What did you seal it with I'm looking to do the same thing. Great build, thanks for sharing!
What an incredible job! Would you share a list off brands / specs you used 🙏
Perfect build, almost exactly what I have in mind. Can you share what your refrigerator is and a price range for it? Cheers
Dometic CFX-75DZW Portable Refrigerator/Freezer
This is honestly one of my favourite conversions the only problem is is to try to find a 4 x 4 ambulance in Canada LOL
Sweet!!!
