    Stunning images Stuart and likewise not seen ton many images of St Abbs itself, mainly the lighthouse. It is very photogenic and can see why it was chosen as the location of New Asgard in the Thor and Avenger movies

    Hi Stuart, I carry a metal dog corkscrew peg and place it on the ground where (possible), attach a bungee cord through the handle, and then stretch the cord up and over the tripod in those problematic windy conditions. I know that weight can be an issue for some photographers however it can always be kept in your vehicle. Using this system gives greater stability and a much less reduced risk of being blown over the cliff edge. I do hope this advice may be helpful to you and others...

    Cracking images Stuart from a fantastic looking location. It may be one to visit in the future. Really like the image at 13:10, superb. A pity that you didn't get to the rape field in time but, as you say, there'll always be a next time. 👍

      @StuartMcGlennon  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks very much yep really pleased with that image - on reflection I actually think a more interesting/ better sky may actually be counter productive to the image so if this is the one I end up with I’ll be more than happy

    Loved the shots. They really capture the light. I really liked the wide landscapes of the village and harbour and I agree, I have never seen any shots composed from these angles. Been there a few times but never gotten round the coast that far. It’s on my “to do” list for sure. Another great vlog Stuart, keep up the good work.

    Great video and lovely location, really like that image of the lichen and rock pool from the previous day, I actually like the fact the sky is subdued as it is a nice backdrop for the star of the show, the bottom 2/3 of the image 👏👏👏

    Lovely video again Stuart, just 20 mins down the road from me, must go back there soon. I know you probably didn't have much time and Demi had the issue with his camera, however did you manage to scout the Mire Loch, lovely wee boathouse there and the wee stack just beyond at Pettico Wick Bay, if not maybe the next time. Thanks

    • @StuartMcGlennon
      @StuartMcGlennon  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Howard, sadly (not that it makes much odds to me lol) the processing videos seem to switch a lot of casual viewers off (I know you're not one of them) as they take a while to properly go through without skipping bits. Probably says more about people's attention span in general these days (or maybe I'm just boring lol!)

    Wonderful set of images, Stuart. What a great location. I'm with you about the seascape at 13:10. The sky is a bit problematic. Maybe just crop the darkest area at the top. I look forward to your next video.

  • @G0FUW
    @G0FUW Před 2 lety

    Never heard of the place, but my geography of the east coast is rubbish, top to bottom! Lovely seascape images Stuart, village ones not for me, but still nicely executed. Hope your mate has good insurance; I lost a lens over a cliff once and the insurance wouldn't touch it without a 'crime report number'. Eventually told me it was my own negligence and I got zilch. I did change insurance companies after that. You never know how good your insurance is until you need it, and, as I found out, it can sometimes be too late.

    • @StuartMcGlennon
      @StuartMcGlennon  Před 2 lety +1

      Cheers yeah Dem is fine his insurance covered it though I think he was more interested in seeing if he could salvage the memory card and battery which worked fine on inspection - you’re right though some insurance companies will do anything to not pay out

I'm normally a sunrise over sunset shooter but this summer just can't get motivated for 3am sunrises when I have a bank of images from Scotland and Cornwall to process still. Hats off to you!

    Great video that mate, such a shame about your mates camera, i hope he gets that sorted, so many great images from this but i really loved the image at 1:59 , so much atmosphere and loved the cool tones with the dark rock and then the white breakwater leading you all around the image , loved that. Great location never seen anything from there before, but i am sure we will now, sadly its a bit far for me , i would have to be up at three the day before , so thanks for letting me see this location, stunning.
