Oh my sweet friend, you have described exactly how I feel about the few precious items we have in our home from our grandparents, parents and our own childhood. I call it ( Keeper of the Springs). I also refer to that as the wellspring of life. Personally we are the caretakers/stewards of preserving these precious items for future generations. I believe that is part of the reason that I love your videos so much. All of the pieces that you’ve shared have meaning and purpose. They keep the memory alive of our precious loved ones and we feel connected to them on a daily basis. Carin, you share humbly and with Grace and elegance as well as allowing your home to bring charm through these precious treasures. Their value is truly cradled within the fact that you are honoring those that you love by keeping their memories alive and yet do so in a way that your girls and husband are able to enjoy a comfortable and beautiful home as well. Keep sharing my friend. Keep inspiring. I always look forward to your next video. Blessings! Debbie
…and now I’m crying! 🥹😭 Debbie, thank you so much for this beautifully, sweet comment. It means the world to me! The reason that this channel has been such a blessing to me, is because of the connections that I have been making with people like you. I could never have imagined how fulfilling that would be when I started. And knowing that others connect with our home and with me…is icing on the cake! I’m eternally grateful for your support!!
P.S. I love that you call it being the “Keeper of the Springs”!!
@@ourhomeonlawrence At this very moment, I’m gently holding close items that mean so much to me. We’re getting ready for a visit from our daughter, her husband, granddaughter and her husband as well as oldest granddaughter and her boyfriend. They will be here for 3 days from Indiana and Florida. I’m praying for healing in relationships as well as sharing precious memories that will last long after I’m no longer privileged to be a part of their lives. I do so look forward to your next video. Blessings sweet friend!
I love all your heirlooms! I have so many of my parents! Love them! So glad y’all were spared from the hurricane!🙌🏻🙏🏻💙
Thank you so much!! It really is a blessing to be able to have these precious pieces from our past in our homes. I can’t thank you enough for watching! ❤️
I am so glad that you survived the storm. I know, I feel so bad for the people in Houston. You have beautiful pieces from your family and you're decorative style with them and the thrifted items look so well together. Your decorating style is so elegant yet cozy. I love the pieces that I have of my grandmothers. You are so very talented when it comes to DYI. Thank you for another great video.💜☺️
Houston really has taken a beating over the last several years. And to think this storm season is just starting. It’s a bit scary!
Thank you so much, sweet friend! I always look forward to seeing you in the comments. ❤️
So happy to hear you didn’t experience anything worse during the storm. I can’t even imagine what the people in Houston are going through. Your home is beautiful. Wishing you well ~ Janet 😘
Thank you!! It’s so scary that this happened so early in the season. I pray Houston doesn’t get hit much more this season. Thank you so much for watching my friend!
My grandmother was a women ahead of her time when it comes to decorating. I'm blessed to have Herr buffet and her tea cart...along with China crystal and so many other things. So I completely agree with you. Treasured memories💜
Ohhh I love that!! I feel that way about my grandma too! I’ve definitely been trying to channel the elegance that I saw in her. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and share a bit of your grandmother with me!
I'm late, but I'm here! LIFE got in the way. I loved hearing all the stories of where your treasures came from. Thrifted finds are wonderful, but family heirlooms are so special! Thank you for taking us on this journey. Everything is beautiful and cozy.
Well I suppose, that’s a good excuse! 😂😂😂 No but really, thank you so much for watching! I couldn’t agree more. It isn’t lost on me how blessed I am to have the heirlooms that I do. Thank you again for being here and being YOU!! ❤️
I absolutely agree with you on keeping family heirlooms if at all possible! You have done a good job incorporating the pieces into your home. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Also, I am happy you got through the storm relatively unscathed. My daughters both live north of Houston and they had a lot of tree damage and lost power for at least six hours, but they too were spared the worst of the storm. Thank God!
I’m so glad your daughters were spared from worse damage! It’s a big unnerving that this happened so early in the season. Thank you as always for being a part of this little community! ❤️
First, I am glad you and your family are safe. I have family in Texas and thankfully they are all safe too. I so enjoyed hearing about your grandparents. The pieces you have inherited from them are so pretty but the memories you shared are icing on the cake. I love your decorating style and I look forward to your videos. God bless!
Oh I’m so glad your family was safe in the hurricane! Thank you so much for always supporting my channel! I appreciate it so much. ❤️
You have so many beautiful pieces from your family. After my mom passed I have some living room chairs and 2 dressers that have become very special to me. They were always in my childhood home and it means so much to me to have them, so I definitely understand the love you have for yours. Your living room looks just beautiful! Glad you didn’t have any damage from the storm. I was hoping for some rain out of it, but it made that turn and headed north and west Texas got nothing! Thanks for the lovely living room tour. You’ve done such a beautiful job with your home.
I hate that west Texas didn’t get at least a bit of the rain. It looks like we are due for a rainy next week and a half here. Praying y’all get a bit of it too!
Isn’t it a blessing to get walk around our homes and have those pieces from the past surrounding us. It’s such a comforting feeling! There were certainly aspects of being an only child/grandchild that weren’t so fun…but it was blessing to be able to keep the items that were so special to me. ❤️
I appreciate anyone who loves old or family pieces. ❤
Me too!! Thank you for being a part of this little community! ❤️
I love when things are from the past and so many memories are attached to them, the stories they tell and the people who used them mean something to us. It is a blessing for the one who cares for them for the next generation even if they one day do not want them added to their homes. Love your home and what you have done with it. Could you please add the DIY for the TV frame I would love to be able to add that to mine. Thank you
I couldn’t agree more!! If I could have packed up my grandparents entire home, I would have. 😂 That’s also why I love shopping thrift stores and antique stores, it’s an opportunity to care for those items as well.
Here is the link to the DIY TV frame video:

Beautiful video. I likewise have many pieces in my house from my Grandma's and my Mom. We are the stewards. Love your living room.
Yes, we are the stewards! It’s a privilege to be able to care for these things as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!
You find the most beautiful FBMP finds! The coffee table is just stunning and high quality, what a stunner 👌🏻 Your family heirlooms are so gorgeous, wonderful to see you use them in your home 👏 👏 Thank you for your tour with explanations, it helps give us ideas also 🎉🎉
Thank you so very much!! I don’t get to shop FBMO near as much as I would like…but here lately when I do I’ve scored BIG!! Thank you so much for supporting this little channel of mine…blessed to have y’all here! ❤️
Your home is beautiful. It was a special.treat to tour the living room!
Thank you so so much for watching!! I appreciate it so much!
Glad that you made it through the hurricane. Living on the East Coast, I know the havoc they can leave in their path. I too love my old family pieces. I love how you have incorporated them into your home. Just a thought that you could frame that lovely needlepoint piece that is on your piano seat to enjoy without worrying about damage.
The east coast has certainly their share of terrible hurricanes. My husband works in storm affected areas and was in NY and NJ after Sandy. He saw first hand the devastation. But he also told me how wonderful the people were there too!!
That is such a sweet idea! Thank you!
I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Your videos brought me to tears. I have an only granddaughter. Perhaps she will care for some of my things one day. She does love to come to my house. Love your love for family treasures.
Oh goodness! This made me tear up! I have no doubt that she will, because at the end of the day it isn’t so much about the “things” but about keeping those that we love (and have lost) close to us. Thank you so much for being a part of this little community! ❤️
So happy you and your family are safe. Will happily pray for others that will have to put their lives and homes back together. I have some special pieces, books and jewelry that are inherited. They are so special, so know how you feel about yours.I love the stories that go along with your furniture and decor.
Thank you so much my friend!! It truly is an honor to be able to care for these items and to hopefully be able to pass on their importance to the next generation. ❤️
Hi Carin! I love your home and all the beautiful pieces! I just love knowing where each piece is from. That is so special to have all the different pieces from family. I love that piano bench! So sweet! I love how you said you’re the caretaker of these pieces! This is so special and I love you sharing all these amazing pieces with us! Love you my friend! ❤❤
Thank you so much my dear friend!! It definitely is not lost on me how blessed I am to have these pieces. It also doesn’t hurt that my grandparents had such wonderful taste!! ❤️
I loved this video! I so wish I had some of my grandmothers and great grandmothers pieces of furniture. It’s a long story but none of us got to have any of it when she passed. It’s so lovely that you not only have them but that you cherish them so much! I’m from Texas also! I was actually born in Houston. I have family without electricity right now. Thank God it missed your home and your family! It is so scary!
Thank you so much!!! I’m so so sorry that things worked out the way they did for you and your other family members. It feels cruel to not be given the opportunity. I can’t even imagine!!
I definitely don’t take for granted how blessed my situation was. As hard, as being an only child/grandchild was as I lost them one by one…I am fortunate that I was able to keep what meant most to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and share that with me!
I am really liking your channel. It is so relaxing. Your home looks lovely with all your favorite things surrounding you. So glad you made it safely through the storm. Looking forward to the next video. Have a great weekend.
Ohhh I appreciate that so much!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! ❤️
I don't know what to say. Tammy said it all. Your home is just beautiful. I love everything. I am constantly going to consignment shops, thrift stores and search facebook market place looking for vintage pieces. I live in south Florida and I would love to meet someone who shares my same interests in vintage and antiques. It would be fun to have someone to go with on these shopping adventures. Thanks for sharing your home.
Oh Cindy! Thank you! 🥹 I wish I had someone to go on shopping excursions with too! Although, I’ll admit my husband does like perusing antique stores too…just not thrift stores. 😂 Thank you so much for always supporting my little channel!! ❤️
Thankful you all are safe. Praying for all whom were in the storm. HAPPY FRIDAY Carin, family, and fur babies. Thanks for the stories for your special pieces. I loved it. Enjoy your weekend my friend. My Birthday is on Monday, July 15th. STTB
Thank you so much for being here every week, my friend! ❤️
Dear sweet Carin, it is so apparent that your grandparents had exquisite taste. The chairs are so beautiful. I too have a few pieces of family treasures that I am honored to be the keeper of. I just hope they will mean as much to my grandchildren as your pieces are to you. The memories that are within the pieces are priceless therefore making the pieces invaluable. Your home invokes precious childhood memories of my grandparents home, and I am now 71 soon to be 72. Thank you so much Carin for sharing your lovely home. God bless and keep you and your family. See you again soon. Have a lovely and fun weekend. ❤😊❤🙏
Thank you so much Donna for this sweet comment. ❤️ I really couldn’t agree more. It’s not necessarily about the the “things” but the memories that they hold. It isn’t lost on me how blessed I am to be surrounded by them on a daily basis…and I’m sure your grandchildren will feel the same. ❤️ Thank you again for taking the time to watch!
Beautiful thank you for sharing jewel box of a home 🤗

I love your channel more and more with each video I watch. You and your home are lovely. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Awww thank you so so much!!! I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to watch and comment!! ❤️
Glad you were safe from the bad storm ! I have a friend , they had to leave their home no electricity yet . Actually two different family friends !
Ohh goodness!! I hope soon after you wrote this that your friend got power back. It’s so scary that hurricane season is already causing problems so early. Thank you so much for watching!
Thankyou for sharing you have such beautiful pieces 🥰
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment!! ❤️
Very cozy!
Thank you!! ❤️
So thankful you guys weren't in the bad part of the storm or received any damage! I was staying with my son in Orlando when Ian hit. While the mass destruction was on the west coast & Fort Myers, Naples, that area was so badly damaged.. Orlando definitely felt it! The winds & flooding was pretty bad, that was my worse experience. Years ago Hugo came thru NC & then Katrina also, but neither were as bad as Ian for me. Now I just pray nothing hits anywhere near the Tampa area this year, or as long as I'm here 🙏🏻 The Mantle is beautiful! I was looking into buying one last year and then one of the guys that graduated our recovery program about 3yrs ago, but still lives there & works, pays rent.. he's honestly like out our son he's so good to me, gifted me a complete faux fireplace with a mantle & bookcases for Christmas last year! I couldn't believe it, i cried so hard & for days every time i looked at it! Just to know the impact i had on his life! I would love to make it look antique! But its amazing as is & i love it! That was A little God wink with your mantle, it was meant to be right where it is! I think your right, I've also seen several other Victorian style & decorated homes with white mantles. It pops off the wall color! The book stand that was your grandma's is very pretty! Love how you've styled it as well. You did an awesome job on the hook systems & the TV frame! And the sconces on the sides are just perfect. I also love that mirror. The sofa doesn't look bad, but i understand how you feel. You want the space & everything in it to look a certain way. The right Sofa at the right price will come along, it'll be another one of those God winks😉 The candle on the gorgeous coffee table..i have a globe with the brass stand pretty much just like it! The globe has some etching on it. I keep fairy lights in it. Where we lived in TN was way out & on a big hill, the power lines ran they a valley of trees across the road then across & up the hill to our home. Any winds, heavy rains & most snows the limbs of the trees would lay on the power lines & knock the power out. It happened often. Battery candles & reg candles was our light.. and my fairy lamp! As I called it! I'm obsessed with all the art & framed photos!! The bust & drippy candles.. love❤ Of course i love the queen Ann chairs, i love chairs with ornatre wood trim! I don't blame you, I'd feel the same about those pieces! Ohhh my goodness!! The photo of you at the piano is absolutely precious!! And that frame is stunning! Girl I'd hang that in MY home any day! Honestly it looks like the art/photos i love to collect! Lol of course not a old😆 The piano being white goes with the mantle & they pop with the dark walls! That bench Is another stunning piece! I love needlepoint & i love a violin.. its all just Beautiful!🤍 its really a around just a big beautiful room with so many gorgeous pieces.. and holds so many nostalgic memories for you! Things bear & dear to your heart.. that just makes it even more beautiful! Enjoyed the tour & chatting about the pieces. Thank you for inviting us into your home.. again, its all gorgeous😊
What an absolute blessing he gave you! That’s incredible! It must bring a smile to your face every time you see it. ❤️ You clearly made an impact on him!
That photo of me at the piano is one of my favorite things! And I usually don’t like pictures of me! 😂 My grandpa loved doing amateur photography and that photo really is one of my favorites that he took. Plus, the way they framed it!! So beautiful!! I look so forward to talking to you every week. I’ll even let you in on a little secret…a couple hours early (if you see this)…there WILL be a video today after all. Christmas in July!!! I hope to see you in the comments there too!
@@ourhomeonlawrence Oh I'll be there😉 yeah the young man that bought me that fireplace, we still talk very often. We're leaving this evening to go finish packing all our things & out them in storage til we get a house. He's already gone over & packed up my kitchen for me & he'll be there tomorrow & Sunday helping us. I've been talking to him all morning trying to get some things figured out. His dream is to get hi CDLs and drive a truck. We want him to move down here & go to truck driving school & get those license! He & my Actual son are close friends too! He's in his early 30's & was in a very violent & well known gang in south Georgia. He'll go visit his blood family a couple times a year but he won't go back to stay. And when it comes down to it.. he claims us as his family. He's A black guy, but that's fine! I Almost had custody of a young black boy when he & my son we in 8th grade. His mom couldn't afford a place to live weigh 3 kids, he was my sons friend Adi he came & lived with us. He mad straight A's in school, made the football, basketball & baseball team & won awards. I lost him when his dad found out his mom wanted to give us custody & mad him move to New jersey with him. He's not done well since he went there. So when this guy came to our recovery home we just kind of bonded & its almost like i got a second chance for that other son I lost.. if any of that makes sense🤷♀️ I just have a big heart!
Best video ever!
Oh gosh!! Thank you! 🥹❤️
Beautiful ❤❤
Thank you so much Anna!! ❤️
but GOD!....glad you're safe, honey.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Please take lots of photos for insurance purposes in case of disastrous events. We lost every single thing when our vacation home burned. I have to mentally picture every single thing but thankfully have excellent insurance. Pictures make life easier. Still sad to lose grandma’s treasures. Items from Europe, South America etc. all lost not to be replaced. Impossible!
I am so so sorry that you have gone through that. It’s unimaginable! Thank you! That is wonderful advice…my husband and I definitely plan on working on that over the next couple of weeks. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment!
@@ourhomeonlawrence Thank you vert much for your kind words.
First barely

I just found your channel, I know you saw my comment on your kitchen video. I’m thinking we live near each other! I’d love to be friends ❤ we are out in Sealy
Oh goodness!! We are only a couple hours away from each other! Thank you so much for watching!
