Super video. A 37 definitely looks, and sounds, better than a steam loco on the Glenfinnan viaduct. 👍

If more places like the one in Bo’ness would rebuild the old trains then they would be kept going for a very long time. You will see in places like India that they are still using steam trains and old diesel trains and it’s the same with Australia quite possibly the uk could learn something from the Australians on this one also Germany has switched to hydrogen fuel trains with the combustion engines and they have been using them for years between Holland and Germany and other countries so possibly electric trains are not the way forward

You’re welcome and yes good to see the old beats still working especially as they are a lot more reliable than the new trains which are either part electric and diesel or completely electric. And it’s normally an old train that tows them away

@@FraserWest-um4ue you are very right, just wish we could keep them and stay in 2005 times would be best or 90s when everything was just the best, but now it's all boring electric stuff

You say that the electric trains are boring but there’s a place in Scotland where they are rebuilding old diesel trains likes off the class 37 and the 26038 they were rebuilt at the railway yard in Bo’ness the engines were rebuilt and the trains were completely repainted and everything was replaced so they were brand new also it’s where Scotrail is keeping their hydrogen fuel trains for testing in Scotland

@@FraserWest-um4ue yes thats very true, only visited Bo'ness once, they have a class 91, and a fair amount of stuff as well, 37s 47 as well i believe, i don't mind the slightly old EMU'S but new ones not so much, i think the hydrogen train plan got scrapped, i may be wrong though, it just sits there doing nothing lol

The last one I saw is that the Scottish government was looking into what the German government does for their train services and they might well follow suit because the electric trains don’t run to Inverness or north of dunblane railway station and nothing seems to have happened with electrical power lines for the rest of the line to Inverness or north of that you might know about that one

@@FraserWest-um4ue yes i that's right, electric only goes as far as dunblane anything after is diesel, i believe they have started to a project to do Edinburgh - Dundee and Perth and the fife circle i think

I wasn’t sure if the Scottish government had done anymore about it I knew about the one from Edinburgh to Glasgow because it runs on the low level electric train line underneath queen street station and that has been working for quite a long time the problem is that it’s slower than the diesel trains also the electric trains have a lot more stops on the low level train lines from Glasgow to Edinburgh
