You have probably seen the news that LNER train drivers are going on strike this weekend not sure for how long but you might see more diesel trains working instead of hybrid trains

Just to let you know that there’s an old HST 125 called valantena it’s one of the most powerful diesel trains ever and GNER called the train the city of Inverness not sure if network rail kept this train or not but the engine start up is something definitely worth seeing and there’s a few videos of this train

Nice video but it's got me thinking. Not meaning to be mean or that but have U maybe considered calling it a few weeks at Brora and Surrounding? It's just it's all mostly brora not so much the rest of the far north line

Just to let you know that there’s a new steam train that been built only seen front of it but it’s called bluebell not sure why

What I hadn’t picked up on was the very early Class 26 trains are very similar to the Class 24/25 in terms of the engine design and inside of them the MK2 is completely different and the engine is a lot more powerful but no window at front of the train only the small side windows at front of the train

Just seen a class 26 sulzer diesel train it was rebuilt earlier this year and there’s another two being rebuilt as well how old would the class 26S be

Here is a good place to take photos by the lake(loch) to the west of the summit beyond Glenfinnan, Loch Eilt. On rainy days you can get the waterfalls to fill the steam loco tenders (in a photographic sense) On windy days some of the waterfalls can be seen blown back from whence they came.

The last one I saw is that the Scottish government was looking into what the German government does for their train services and they might well follow suit because the electric trains don’t run to Inverness or north of dunblane railway station and nothing seems to have happened with electrical power lines for the rest of the line to Inverness or north of that you might know about that one

If more places like the one in Bo’ness would rebuild the old trains then they would be kept going for a very long time. You will see in places like India that they are still using steam trains and old diesel trains and it’s the same with Australia quite possibly the uk could learn something from the Australians on this one also Germany has switched to hydrogen fuel trains with the combustion engines and they have been using them for years between Holland and Germany and other countries so possibly electric trains are not the way forward

You’re welcome and yes good to see the old beats still working especially as they are a lot more reliable than the new trains which are either part electric and diesel or completely electric. And it’s normally an old train that tows them away

The Far North Line is wonderful. I love the lines that we could call rural or mountain. This summer I was in Inverness but didn't go any further north. I have it pending. I saw that a container freight train arrives there. Is there any freight on the Far North Line? I suppose that tourist specials with locomotive and cars will circulate. A true marvel of the line.
