  • Testing the placement precision of my homemade pick and place machine and paste dispenser named 'PP4'.

    I am using a TQFP64 0.5mm pitch part here. The part and PCB are aligned using OpenCV and the vision algorithm showm in some of my other videos.

    Looks very good if it's really 0.5mm pitch part. If you want to impress people even more, try to show the whole process end-to-end in one uninterrupted video shot. Starting with placing the PCB on the table by hand without any special alignment, then the IC in the tray, then fiducial registration kicks in and placement happens. Stretch goal it to do it three times in a row with 0.05mm accuracy.
    Try placing QFP208 next... :) ...and reply to the message I sent you on your web site.

    Do you have to set the pick height of the part, or can it detect that with vacuum ? Great job.

    I replied to your message last Saturday. Please check your spam folder to accept mails from my website domain. I sent it again today.
    I did not do any special alignments for this video and can not do it in one shot because I do not have a macro lens for the video camera. The photos were taken from the placements shown in the video directly after placing.
