Barocke Farbenpracht
- Hudba
This is why I love CZcams: every now and then I discover new composers. Fasch is new to me, thank you so much for uploading these wonderful concertos!
Danke. Fasch ist neu für mich. Wunderbare Musik!
Maestro Fasch is the baroque/classicist who was 'undiscovered.' Hopefully we will be provided with his entire oeuvre during the next decade.
Few years ago I thought that the German Baroque music had produced " only " three great composers: J.S. Bach, G.Fr. Handel and G. Ph. Telemann. Then I " discovered Graubner and now Fash. I wonder how many great but forgotten composers must be rediscovered. Thank you for letting us know some of these unknown great composers.
Look for Johann David Heinichen :)
I also highly recommend Johann Adolf Hasse!
Overwhelmingly beautiful; my soul and heart melt!
Thank you! Fasch is new to me !
Suprisingly Wounderful Music, Wow ! 🥰😘
Like a christmas present🎁!!
Música Barroca, lo mejor de la vida . Bravo Johann Friedrich Fasch !!
@@juanguillermobricenourra3076 y Vivaldi y Bach y Telemann y Bonporti y Corelli y Handel y Brescianello y Veracini. . .
Y Jean Marie Leclair
Brilliant-Thank you !
Almost always when starting a piece by Fasch I can not possibly stop listening !
It sounds so festive and happy!!
My first experience with Fasch was back in 1992 when my wife bought me a CD called
Musica per l'orchestra di Dresda which contained similar wonderful pieces.
I was hooked immediately!
Barroco magnificente, onde brilham trompetes e tímpanos.
A fantastic composer.
Thank you for uploading these works and for all the care you showed in giving precise information as to the artists performing and the works being performed. Well done !
Wonderful and poignant performances, capturing the very spirit of this comparatively neglected composer, who ought not to be. Lovely oboe playing amongst other gems.
Impressive music
Thank you!
Totally fantastic

Boa tarde. Saudações do Brasil.

Faschinierend.

Wait...I've heard of oboe da caccia, but not oboe da silva, and here is a concerto for two of them! Does anyone have any information on the oboe da silva?
Thanks!
Francoeur mentions an "hautbois de forest" (silva/ selva) but I found nothing about this type of oboe nor if it might be the same... Here it is played on an Oboe da caccia (invention of Eichentopf), instrument in F as the Taille d'Hautbois and the English Horn.
Oboe di selva
The oboe di selva (waldhautbois in an inventory list from Zerbst; Fasch's place of residence and work) is the alto instrument of the oboe family called oboe da caccia by Bach, at least when the instrument was used solo.
The oboe in the alto position (the F-hobo) was used elsewhere in Europe mainly as a middle voice and was called Taille (de hautbois), or Tenorhautboy: by Henry Purcell among others in the opera King Arthur. Bach too calls the instrument taille in the cases where he uses it as the low voice of an oboe trio.
While elsewhere in Europe the F-hobo was a straight instrument and looked like a large oboe or oboe d'amore (: with onion-shaped cup), the oboe da caccia/di selva was curved.
We can only guess as to why the shape was curved. One reason could be that the straight shape puts the right hand in an uncomfortable position, which does not aid dexterity. With the curved form, the position of the hands is much more comfortable, which is a great advantage for Bach's often difficult solos.
The late 18th and 19th century form of the F-hobo, the English Horn (which should actually be called Angel Horn) is almost always curved or bowed.
Only with the emergence of the early form of the modern valve system around 1880 does the instrument become straight again, as a mechanism is used to reduce the spread of the fingers.
Piet Dhont *
* he played for many years in the best baroque bands of Europe all over the world almost any type of baroque oboes ....
Make no mistake, J. F. Fasch was equal to the best, but he himself contributed to be lesser known by not publishing a single item of his compositions. Much of his works also fell victims of WWII (Think of the Hamburg and Dresden infernos)
