Can you believe Ireland 2024 is their best result since 1997 ?!

Hearing Doomsday Blue after all those songs is so jarring. It was so unique and original and its refreshing to see Ireland taking a chance and it paid off. Their best result since 2000

I love that doomsday blue is Ireland's highest placement since 1997 (unless counting 2000 when they got 6th again)

My qualifiers and non-qualifiers of Ireland in eurovision 🇮🇪 (Since 2004):
OBS: I'll leave the automatic qualifiers as automatic qualifiers even if the country hadn't been my choice to win in the previous year or wasn't high for me in the semi-final format from 2004-2007, since as the entry did not face the semi-finals that year, it would be difficult for me to imagine a situation of these entries in the semi-final
    *Old semi-final format (2004-2007)
    2004: Automatic qualifier ➖
    2005: Qualified ✅
    2006: Non-qualifier ❌
    2007: Automatic qualifier ➖
    *New semi-final format (2008-Current)
    2008: Non-qualifier ❌
    2009: Non-qualifier ❌
    2010: Qualified ✅
    2011: Qualified ✅
    2012: Qualified ✅
    2013: Qualified ✅
    2014: Qualified ✅
    2015: Qualified ✅
    2016: Non-qualifier ❌
    2017: Non-qualifier ❌
    2018: Non-qualifier ❌
    2019: Non-qualifier ❌
    2020: Non-qualifier ❌ (If 2020 had happened)
    2021: Non-qualifier ❌

My opinions about the country in eurovision: My big winner of eurovision 2024!!!! It's incredible that Ireland almost bankrupted their own broadcaster for winning too much Eurovision so started sending only average and bad songs to eurovision but after Sweden winning for the 7th time and drawing with Ireland they said "no more jokes! now it's time to take Eurovision seriously!!" and they actually did!! bringing to their national selection final for the eurovision bambie thug!!! A amazing perfomer and singer with such a unique and original song!!! and we can't forget ailsha either, a great singer and rocker with her song "go tobann" being the first with irish language in a song in the Ireland for a long time!! I think Ireland in eurovision is very underrated because in my opinion a lot of their NQ songs should have qualified, like that's rich, we are one and playing with numbers (which is an unjust masterpiece and should definitely have qualified) and bambie has been my favorite to win in 2024 since they won the Irish national final because they are so amazing and unique with a great pagan/heavy metal song and my winner and my favorite of this year!!!! I hope that now that ireland sees that sending original and unique songs to eurovision is the right formula, they maintain this formula for the next years!! Because is ailsha releasing a new song soon called "haunted" will she try for eurovision again? It would be amazing since I also loved go tobann!!! Because bambie really opened the doors for original artists in ireland!! 👀
