I know it’s embarrassing and an inconvenience. I do agree their processes should be simplified. That’s one thing employees complained about. Also go to a branch that has a debit card machine maker. You’ll get one on the spot and call before you go to make sure they have one. 💛

100% Agree with you! This happened to me when I was trying to pay for my daughter’s birthday party. I was absolutely mortified and highly embarrassed. I knew there was plenty of money in the account and they declined the transaction because the amount was so expensive and I had never made a purchase there before. They stated it was fraud prevention and that’s why the transaction was being declined. I did exactly what you said, I was a 20 year customer with my banking institution and moved my money elsewhere. Now I know I’m just one person and me moving my money didn’t matter to them; but it made me feel good and and my decision was based on principle!!! Move your money!

Hindsight is 20/20, but moving forward try to always have more than one form of payment on you at all times. You may want to look into getting a credit card that is kept for emergencies in your wallet (but enroll it in autopay for Spotify or some small bill, so it’s always in use and always paid in full). If your credit isn’t up to par (no worries, we all been there), get a secured credit card. TRUST ME, it will prevent embarrassing moments like this from happening again.

After calling customer service upset like you, they urged me to check my email and I could see that their security department had alerted me of the foreign charges so they shut off that card immediately. I confirmed my identity via phone and I was able to get a new card at the branch on the same day. 🤷🏽♀️ but go ‘head... tell em why you mad son! 😝

Everyone should try to bank with 3 types of bank - a big bank (BOA, Wells Fago, Citibank etc) ...a Regional Bank -(PNC, Suntrust, etc) and a credit union. The benefits of all these banks are different and will you the flexibility when it comes to qualifying for home loans, mortgages, auto loans etc. Even if you don’t have a lot of money...try to keep a little bit in there to have access to those benefits.
Just keep extra green on you at all times to avoid that type drama. Anywhere from $20 - $50. Furthermore, withdraw all 💰 from your current bank and simply carry on business elsewhere.
Sounds like your card information was compromised and PNC should have sent you a new card before closing your current card. Happened to me several times with the credit union. Your new card was probably lost in the mail.

Not anything having to do with a credit card per say but just inefficiency in general across multiple corporations. I had a run in recently with my phone and my carrier. My phone was whole live stolen and me, the victim, had to wait a total of 3-4 weeks (A MONTH), to get my phone services reinstated and get my number back. Customer care was limited in their abilities to help and I had to be transferred to 10 different places before I finally got the help I needed. I was super frustrated and stressed out. As a loyal (I’ve been with them since high school and am now in my early 20s) and paying customer, I feel we should be provided with better services.

That has happened to me. When I use my debit card out of state 4-5 time they shut it down until they can make contact with me. Yes its crazy.
I work in the banking industry, not for PNC bank, but that's a sign of possible fraud. Customer service cant provide any information if their is fraud for possible account takeover. It's very inconvenient. Sorry you had that experience
