We need more Pokémon games like this
The replayability of this game is unmatched compared to most games tbh.
Just play Disgaea man
@@sho829 is it good?
@@samarahmurtaza706 does endless customization sound good to you?
@@sho829 idk depends
3:57 The final story is actually unlocked once you beat the primary Warlord's stories(Shingen, Nobunaga, etc.), the Junior Warlord stories(Oichi, Hanbei, etc.) are optional with the exceptions of the ones that are required to unlock a primary Warlord's story.
As someone who got inspired to replay the game after watching this video, that is really good to know!
@@TheMike0088 In that case, might I recommend you look up some of the passwords that can be used? I know they all still work and that there is a code to recruit Motochika and Motonari in the first story on top of some extra side stories. They can also help with actually getting a specific Pokémon for Warlords that have a difficult to find perfect link.
@@insanityworks4ussu4skrowyt34 You can get a second evolve for Hideyoshi with a Reshiram code. This also allows you to get the shiny Rayquaza for Nobunaga, since the prerequisite for that is to have all other legendaries already.
Idk who will find this useful, but if you defeat someone with a super effective move, they will join you. Also applies to warlords, but only other warlords can recruit enemy warlords. Really helpful for building up your army.
So THAT'S what Eevee's evolutions were for
Took me a while to put two and two together, needless to say, spent a lot of time wondering why warlords refused to be recruited
This took me way too long to learn when I was a kid… plus, the manual doesn’t even state that you need warlords to recruit other warlords. It was intense trial and error for a very long time
@@gabrielbolanos3871 Yeah me too, I think I learned it on my 3rd playthrough when Muneshige recruited Yoshimoto well after 5 turns
@@bigmoist990 I played in Japanese on release, before I spoke it. You can imagine how much of it was trial and error.
Absolute nostalgic ass underrated game. Commenting before watching, and I’m glad you played it.
My sister and I are currently (though on pause) playing through the fan project that includes more recent Pokemon + the fairy typing. it's only in Spanish right now, but it's hitting all of our nostalgia feels!
Could you provide a link to that, my good man?
PORFAVOR COMO SE LLAMA BRO LO NECESITO
@Meme University and it got removed again! Pokemon conquest Imperial. That's the name. That's it.
Idk if you knew this, but Hideyoshi has a 3rd warrior evolution, and his partner pokemon is Reshiram. It's locked behind a code which is why it's not known. Also, Tadakatsu is the only warrior who can get a legendary pokemon, and that's Dialga.
I'm VERY happy this appeared in my recommended. I played this game nonstop as a kid, and in my over-the-summer school (essentially just a daycare for older kids) I'd show it off as much as I could. Everyone of us lost our minds when the Shiny Rayquaza showed up. love this video, thank you for reminding me of this gem
seriously wish Pokemon would make another conquest game
it was so seriously good
I'm currently replaying this game, and this is a good video to those who call this game a very short one. If they ever make a sequel to this game, I'd love it if it's a region based on Three Kingdoms China before Shu, Wu and Wei become the last oen standing.
Ah yes the main villain being Lu Bu with a legendary pokemon like Yeveltal and the gender main character have Arceus and it would be like dynasty warriors combat system
And the fat guy has to have a Dusknoir
I've long been calling such a prospective game Pokemon Dynasty
Seeing as scarvio’s mythicals are hinting that the next generation is based off of China, perhaps we shall see a sequel?
…A prequel?
If you choose the male character, you essentially act as a stand in for Azai Nagamasa, who was in fact married to Oichi in real life. The situation is rather ironic when you consider how the real world version of events played out 😂
Oichi the snitch
I can’t believe there is still content being made about this amazing relic. I just thought about playing this a few days ago when discussing how the new Pokémon games are coming out are expanding on new ideas, where the topic drifted to cool spin offs. I had a wave of nostalgia and recently found my old copy of it. I am still dumbfounded there is content made about this game
Conquest is one of two Pokemon games I've 100%'d (and actually 100%'d twice)
Still praying for conquest 2 I’ve loved this since release it’s such a unique take on Pokémon and a nice adaptation of the rough history of 13th to 14th century Japan
This is 16th century.
This game is INCREDIBLY underrated
Ohhhhhh! I always thought I'd finished this back in the day, but now that i watch this I think I just finished the first scenario and never turned it back on again. I didn't realise there were more!
It is nice to see someone else talking about this game. I adored this game but damn, even when I was younger the post-game was a tedious grind. The killer was, as you alluded to, the repetition. Oh, there's a competition between the 7 lady warlords? That's coo-WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO PLAY THE EXACT SAME SCENARIO 7 TIMES, ONE AS EACH OF THEM? Not even any little differences besides the opening and ending text.
The other killer was that most of the scenarios are freaking braindead! Depending on the pokemon you have on your warlords you might start out facing a tough battle or two, but the problem is that while the other warlords all start equal or a little above you, you gain WAY more experience from invasions than their passive boost, so you immediately end up overleveled compared to everyone else and it's just busywork to finish out the scenario.
That's part of why all the extra scenarios just felt empty compared to the main story, the main story actually scaled up pretty appropriately with you. The other part was that the extra scenarios just had nothing between the start and end while the main story actually had interactions and dialogue.
And then of course there was the little balance issue where if you had a full party of evolved Warlords and just used all their skills turn 1 you'd have some sharply omniboosted +2 movement range monstrosity of a party for 3 turns and roflstomp basically any fight. But most tactics games have something like that where the game just falls apart if you use it. XP
Also just a minor nitpick but I was always sad that the main character doesn't have enough room for all his perfect links. I got an eevee and all 7 eeveelutions, but then you get Arceus and he only has 8 pokemon slots. Sadge.
I played 70% of the stories and been delaying the rest for 8 years but someday i will complete it
I love this game so much and it was so satisfying playing each story to get the true ending
Few things i missed in the video: Hideyoshi with Reshiram (though this is only possible via a wifi event) Tadakatsu with Dialga, Ieyasu with Registeel and nobunaga with zekrom and Rayquaza
There is also a password you can put into the game to get the reshiram event
This is absolutely one of my favorite games to play! This and the mystery dungeon series are so amazing because it never feels like you’ve run out of content! Yeah, getting perfect links with some warlords is a real pain. But it’s wicked rewarding! 🙌
Pokémon Conquest is what got me into the franchise as a kid
Oh for the time I had while a uni student, I got perfect links for every single warrior (not just warlords) including multiple for the warriors who have multiple (and all 7 eeveelutions for the main character). I got 80/90% links fully evolved for any warlords/warriors who had sucky perfect links, didn’t even know about the guardian charms 😂 wow that must have taken forever… wish I still had it to check how many hours
Whenever I pick up pokemon conquest I do "challenge runs" where I go through a story using only one pokemon/ warlord for the whole thing, usually a legendary with a guardian charm.
YOO! Congrats on beating the game through and through!
As fun as it was, I think it's safe to say that this game joins my 'No Touch Soon' list, along with USUM due to overplaying.
Edit: apparently people thought I think this game wasn't fun
I think it's safe to say this CZcams channel joins my 'dont recommend ' list
A little nitpick...you said you had to complete all 37 side stories but thats not entirely true. You only need to complete the main warlords story which there are 16 so a little less than half that.
Although since some are locked behind the junious it's probably more around 18 or 19 at most
You could get reshiram for hedeyoshi by entering a soecific code then going to Ignis
I think it's safe to say you're trash
@Jamez Marceau heck yeah. Conquest is amazing
Coliseum, Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, Conquest. The Pokémon side games are always fantastic.
I remember playing this game, ending the first run and after a few more I completely forgot this game even existed for a while, now Im replaying it slowly
I logged hundreds of hours in this game, I replayed every mission at least 4 times. It was so much fun!
I really need to pick up this game. Its such a master piece
played this game over and over again, still do every now and then. It's a good game to grind in l, sure every playthrough takes me 4x what it should be but I love this game too much to give up on it. Also Hideyoshi has a secret warrior evolution that you can only get by entering a password which will allow him to catch Reshiram and evolve.
I have over 1400 hours on this game as a kid, I have 100 percented this game twice. This game is my childhood truly one the most entertaining and fun games I've ever played.
...watching you beat dragnor LAST the final chapter after getting arceus hurt BAD my guy😭😭 you were SO close to getting Rayquaza
I remember trying once to actually get to the true ending. 80-90 hours in (on emulator) and I had eat, breathed and lived Pokemon Conquest so much that I had a fucking fever dream one night where all I could see was flashes of playing the game...and that was my sign to stop.
Yeah, I got this game when it first came out in 2012 and would come back to the game every summer to finally finish it 100% last summer. Easily one of the most replayable DS games
Thank you, I've been trying to figure out what this game was called for so long
Hint for yoshimoto, even though his best link is with Forretress there is another pokemon that perform better with him, Scizor.
I was able to get every single Warrior transformation and every single Pokemon in the dex during COVID and I have to say; this game is fun but it can also be a bit of a drag. Also, credit to those who actually had to go through Yoshimoto's Chapter with Forretress because that seems so painful. I essentially won that chapter because I used Scizor on Yoshimoto almost instantly after getting his Warrior transformation and I attacked Kenshin first.
This game was so underrated i loved this game so much! I poured so many hours into this game i wish they jad made a sequel
Remember back in the day when Nintendo would do random spin offs of their popular ips just to see what creative ideas could come from the experience? Good times, don't expect them to do anything like that ever again.
Made me pick up my copy of the game again, it's been years since I last played and have never finished it before. Wish me luck!
I also grind this game as a kid too.
I have nothing to do while in summer break so I spend like 150+ hour perfect link every warlord plus some really strong warrior like some dude in water town has perfect link with magikarp and I think there are another early game warrior has perfect link with scisor. Also there are a lot more legendary who you can link too. I think there are dialga for metal warlord and some more, can't remember.
Conquest was a hidden gen, so glad I played it when it came out. One of the few to actually own this and have preordered. Proud Day 1 pokemon fan.
I'm currently playing thru this game and to call it a grind is an understatement
a good game indeed love this and MD a lot
I know “Pokémon Fire Emblem” was a joke, but that’s unironically something that almost happened.
The only reason it DIDN’T happen was Pokémon Conquest existing, so we got Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE instead.
Yes, Pokémon having a crossover title with Nobunaga’s Ambition indirectly resulted in Fire Emblem having a crossover title with Shin Megami Tensei.
I loved this game so much. I don't even think I beat it, getting Umbreon I remember was difficult enough or at least took awhile lol
Thank you for this effort, I always wondered what 100%ing this game would take
I forgot about this game but when I played my save data I got all of the characters perfect links. I think I was addicted to the game.
It's 2023; we're 4 generations further; and still no second Pokémon Conquest... That sucks
So happy to find a community that also holds nostslgia for this weird little game
Mad respects for the patience
i wish every day for a sequel or remaster for this
Dude this was one of my favorite games as a kid
Wouldn't the in-game playtime also be sped up due to the fast-forward function on the emulator?
I think I got sick one time and its just a fever dream of downloding this rom and speed running this game until I had all the legends lmao
Holy moly I dont know how I missed this gem of a game
I hope you knew that you only had to do all the main warlord stories ans not ever story other wise respect for doing all the stories
Another banger to watch
i played it and love it and honestly need to finish it
On my original cartridge I have about 300 hours on it. Now I haven't touched it in years but I loved this game and completing it as a kid
Ah goddamit really love the sprite lol. Also dont worry at least it is not as painful as getting certain moster farm true ending lol
Homie, I'm pretty sure ya only had to deal with the main Warlord's stories for the final one.
Same, I'm currently sitting on the 120 hour mark working my way to the end
This game is awesome. I did a speedrun of 100% of the game, including all perfect links. I did it in 72 hours
bro pokemon conquest goes so insanely hard I remember this
Love this game and it’s unique art style. Need a remake
Considering they made Arceus in Legends only capturable by catching every other Pokemon in the game, and Arceus in BDSP only capturable by capturing the Arceus in Legends, this is completely on brand.
Bruh i forgot about this game. I played the shit out of it when it came out. Thank you for this
Why did I watch this? I just started doing a let's play series on this. Now I have to spend over 140 hours to get the true ending...
This was my favorite game growing up, and im so sad they haven't made more. If anyone knows games like this please let me know!
Shoutout to Ieyasu, who, in my game, decided to take over all of Ransei instead of catching 100 Pokemon.
that zyzz clip at the end got me lmao
Ah yes my childhood memories starting to comeback to me
Took me a year to get to the true ending. Over 6 hundred hours.
best spin off game no doubt.
I've been playing Pokemon since it came out and I'm JUST finding out about this game?!
I had the cartridge back then, but I dropped it because the game was too slow in the DS. I had a whole Excel spreadsheet for the list of perfect links too. Now I play this on emulator but my laptop is not powerful enough to have a smooth fast forward. I believe I'm halfway in completing the perfect links for both warriors and warlords.
Unironicaly my second favorite Offical Nintendo Pokemon game next to SS/HG.
Yeah Koei Tecmo games for sure are like that for completionists.
100% this game a few times in my life, such a good game
ah i remember finishing most of this game and get every warlord perfect link evolve and legend except for Masamune because BRAVIARY IS SO FECKING BAD. It hardly can solo because it got 2 turn 1 target move with bad typing. you also need to complete it in his story so you can't delegate skip with him. farming with him also will take long so i gave up back then
also you don't need to complete every warlord story for the last story, i remember you just need the main one as i did the last story and still has other to complete. also perfect link isn't everything after character evolve as realistically you won't reach 100% most of the time so just go with 70+% max link. easiest example is hydreigedon for oichi and i use metagross for imagawa and they can solo now too
I've been hunting for this game for years now. Still haven't found it for a reasonable price. Hopefully I can soon
i wish i was smart enough to finish any scenario after the first one. i’ll try again eventually…
I absolutely loved this game
Wow i played this game and 100% it and only now i saw that map is in the shape of Arceus. MINDBLOWN
Just finished the main story, put in about 25h already and had a incredibly great time, very fun gameplay!
I'm now at the stories however I just don't seem to interested in doing each and every one just in order to get back to being able to play as "myself". Anyone who's 100% the game, is it even worth doing/ playing after the main story?
when I played this and I beat the game, and it showed me every character also had a story, I dipped
i love indutro
Holy shit what a fool I am, I thought the map after the first credit was just some extra content but it's crucial for unlocking the true ending HAHAHAHA
Oh wow, I'm honestly surprised anyone still remembered this game. It was my brothers favorite.
I'm currently 48 hours in and only a quarter through the after stories
ok... I will be okay with my first ending of the game. No time for this, but good to know about how big the game is.
God I loved Conquest.
Ive been playing this game for seven years.... damn
I honestly hope for some strange reason Game Freak just pulls Ransei Kingdom into the mainline games but it's modern Ransei
Pokémon conquest my beloved
I think the hardest thung in this game is the best lunk of each warrior
I somehow have this game despite never remembering playing it
I still own that Game on my Nintendo now i Want to Play it again because of that Video xD
Would say it would be cool to get a pokemon game set in the rance region again
