Aik Alif is among my favorite CS songs. It's lyrics are written by 17th century Saint-poet known as Bullay Shah.
Same here Its my first to go kalam when im feeling down or disconnected. Just to be inspired again. Aik alif what we all need.

Before the Partition between India and Pakistan, the region where Pakistan is located was famous for their singing, poetry and busking environment. And just to let you know Urdu is one of best language for poetry if not the best, its like their regular conversation is poem in itself. Their words have beautiful pronunciation and their meanings are literal beauty. You can trust in this information because this is coming from a man who is an Indian and a Hindu and i can also speak around 9 languages, so yeah you can trust me on that.

This particular piece isn't mainly Urdu though, it's mostly Punjabi, with certain small parts in Urdu sung by the younger of the two brothers.
Seeing as you claim to know Punjabi, I'm sure you know how beautiful the Punjabi language is as well. Punjab (both India and Pakistan) is the home of some of the most beautifully written literature as well as music. It's also one of the cruxes and the birthplace of Sufism and Sikhism respectively, both of which are wonderfully intertwined with music in their worship.
that was saeen zahoor (1st vocalist, reknowned folk musician) and rock band noori who are brothers; ali noor (2nd vocalist) and ali hamza (3rd in appearance).
i was a huge noori fangirl would love for you to react to more of their music.
The first singer is Saieen Zahoor Ahmad, a famous sufi shrine singer. The instrument he was playing is an Ektara. It is an ancient one stringed instrument used across South Asia. It is most commonly seen in folk music or shrine or temple music.
I think it's TUMBI. tumbi is also a one stringed instrument prevalent in Punjab.

Noori (Ali Noor and Ali Humza) was the band I listened to during my college days. You should also listen Par Chanar from Coke Studio.
Paar Chana de is my best CS song ever!
This song came out when we were posted abroad as a young family. Coke Studio was new then... one of our few connections to home... and we were so proud of it, of what Rohail was doing for Pakistani music. I used to play this song in the kitchen while cooking, while cleaning, while mopping the floors, with my one-year-old strapped into his high chair. Of all the things in his limited vocabulary, he learnt how to say, "Allah sanyian" and would say it to request this song. I think he realised his mother was happier when this song was on. It'll always remind me of those days. Bittersweet.
With your knowledge of music, you are best placed to appreciate Coke Studio season 6 and season 12 and season 2021...all produced by Rohail Hyatt, a music genius. To start with listen to "Kande Utte" from Coke Studio Season 6. If you like it, I'll recommend some more...
There is another one from Coke Studio Season 3, "Jana Jogi de Naal" by the same singer. These are early Coke Studio songs where emphasis was on musicality rather than symbolism through videography...

with Saeein Zahoor those were Noori brothers from Noori band, apparently their whole family is linked with music one way or another.

The old guy is saieen zahoor, and other two are brothers(Their stage name is Noori). Their other coke studio songs are great as well.
The older gentleman you name does he have his own albums or something. I can't get enough of that voice and style

The earlier seasons had the raw feel...The stress was in the music n singing and camera work was excellent... Recently it has become so polished that it loses that punch.

This is a centuries old Kalam of Punjabi Sufi Saint Baba Bulleh Shah, heritage of Punjab, Pakistan.
If you like this than you should try Saari Raat from Noori(the second and third guy singing here, they are a group) you’ll love the dynamic there!
