I don't know if counts Tainted Love or Highway to Hell by Marilyn Manson
That version of Faith was horrible hearing a possesed Fred Durst it's enough hearing normal and they did it again with Behind Blue Eyes!!! 😮
3:53 Cheezy Cover? Only if you're into Casu Martzu. 11:33 More like be committed to the nearest Bedlam
House. Perhaps a followup with good covers of these songs?
For "Thunder Rolls"-- Overscene or State of Mine (feat. No Resolve & Brandon Davis).
"Fortunate Son"-- CLUTCH. "The Chain"-- Taking Dawn.
"Fuel"-- Scream Inc. "Aerials"-- This Order
I thought that was a stylistic choice by Avril Lavine lol
The remix of Limp Bizkit "Faith" is even worse. They're trying to blend the remix with the other song "Fame" by David Bowie
Should do a Top 10 CZcams Rock/Metal Cover Channels, there's the obvious channels like Frog Leap Studios and tensecondsongs but you have to check out Denis Pauna's channel, he does cross-genre mashups like What If ZZ Top Wrote Metallica's Seek & Destroy?, What If The Doors Was Doom Metal? and What If Motorhead Wrote Michael Jackson's Billie Jean? and some of them, well, most of them, sound amazing. (Edit - Denis also plays all the instruments)
Raphael Mendes sounds exactly like Bruce Dickenson, every nuance, hits every note and does What If Bruce Dickenson Sang For...Judas Priest/Megadeth/Gun N Roses/etc? types of covers.
The fucken end with Wes and MGK going back and forth had me in stitches 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 it was terribly funny bad

Kirk up there thinking "oh, look interested Kirk! don't be rude this is a child singing our song" 😭
Three Days Grace's take on "somebody that you used to know" was hilariously bad. I literally laughed at it.
Look up Linkin Park AI cover of that song. It's actually really really good and sounds like it's off Meteora.
Three Days Grace has been a joke since Adam left. Matt is awful, even My Darkest Days wasn’t that great
I thought it was ok
Which is funny since their cover of You Don’t Get Me High Anymore by Phantogram is decent
It's not that bad, which makes it even worse! It's bland, boring and completely pointless.
MGK, a man who has one of the weakest voices in music, trying to cover SOAD is just hilarious on the face of it.
Geez MGK really did so much worse than Wes Scantlin, because at least Scantlin's voice was funny bad when he covered "About a Girl" by Nirvana. Something about someone trying and failing spectacularly is way funnier to me than someone not trying at all.
I get what you mean. As bad as POM was, it was definitely entertaining. MGK's cover was bad for different reasons, but mainly lack of trying or caring.
These covers are the best comparison I can think of when I want to illustrate the difference between so bad it's good (PoM) and just bad (MGK.)
You can at least listen to the About a Girl cover ironically and gives you something to laugh it. MGKs cover is just unlistenable
Hearing Hollywood Howie sloppily fellate MGK for fucking around is just embarrassing, making the whole experience worthless. At least Wes had the good grace to miss big
Tone deaf muthafukers need to stop telling mgk he's great and maybe he'll go away... or put out a country album and get a cowboy hat.
Man the MGK cover of Aerials is just beyond bad.
What a hack. 😂
I actually thought it was a skit the first time I saw/heard it 😆
Anything MGK does is bad
MGK. I'd rock that
My interpretation of limp bizkit’s cover of faith has always been that they think it’s the cheesiest song imaginable (I’ve heard Fred say this), and they start off singing it in the cheesiest, most exaggerated way possible before just completely fucking destroying it. So for that I think it’s too goofy to hate on
Yeah I personally love it
Yep, gotta admit, I actually really like this cover by LB. I also like the original version by GM. It’s a matter of taste. Music is subjective 🤷🏻😁
They've said from start that they were making fun of the song. Exactly why Fred sounds the way he does in it. That song still to this day is awesome live.
Behind blue eyes is limp's worst cover
@@olasross918yeah why pick Faith when that abomination exists
"Can't hate a guy for trying"
That requires, ya know, trying
The same show Avril performed Fuel, Snoop Dogg "performed" Sad But True. Was kind of a iffy night for them
Yeah that whole show was rotten. Avril might have been the worst, but they were all bad.
@@CiardisInferno99 Limp and Sum 41 were great imo... Korn too
@@CiardisInferno99 at least she knew the words. Snoop didn't
@@sho-nuffmadrigal6857 I sincerely doubt Snoop knows the words to his own songs.
@@Duality_of_Man Staind was also good.
Avril Lavigne will always have a place in my heart for her first two albums, but even I cringe at the idea of her trying to cover Metallica.
I feel you, it's fun but not "good" she was very early in her career and was very shy on stage, which is the opposite of Metallica who were very in your face live. It just needed more energy from her, the band was having a riot though
LG & UMS are peak Avril from her though. Everything after that doesn't exist
BDT has some good songs on it. @@lethybridtheorygolucastheo2191
She didn't even cover a good Metallica song.
I still feel that Lil Uzi Vert cover of System of a Down song is the worst ear rape of music.
Uzi just let the instrumental play the last couple minutes of the track and just walked out the studio. Also that Crash Bandicoot sounding “WOAH”.
Worst I've ever seen is Hole coving Pearl Jam's Jermey at a festival. To her credit though Courtney said "wow that sucked, I'm never trying to sing that again" or something to that effect.
Meanwhile, Aloe Blacc covered Fortunate Son and understood the assignment.
Hollywood Undead covered “have you ever seen the rain” and it’s actually really good, true to the original
That is a name I haven't heard in a long time
As did Clutch
Okay, I can't believe I'm saying this, but ATLEAST PUDDLE OF MUDD was trying and putting in effort. It was still embarrassing, but atleast they tried. MGK didn't give a crap and gave the worst cover in rock history. I can't believe I'm defending puddle of Mudd but with their cover of about a girl, atleast we could laugh and have fun with it. MGKs cover feels like torture. In fact all his music feels like torture
'Fred Durst sounding like a creepy teenager trying to touch a woman for the first time' is the best description i ever heard for roasting this cover, and I've read A LOT bad publications about this cover song.
8:40 for cat.
Pearl's a good boy 😸
14:08-14:17 oh my God I can't stop laughing
YAAAA EEEEEEE YAAAAAA EEEEEEE YAAAA EEEEEEE YAAAAAA EEEEEEE
Machine Gun Kelly’s cover of System of a Down sounds like me at karaoke at 3am after 18 beers
The thunder rolls cover isnt that bad, i have heard worse, but their are better metal covers of it in fairness.
The Fuel live cover's a pretty early live show for her, and she's really not really singing in her natural way. It's not always easy to perform to people you look up to. Especially at 18 years old. I'll admit that I like the cover, and the first two Lavigne albums are some of my all time favourite albums. (so I'm a bit biased, but aren't all fans? :D )
Everyone is biased toward someone or something. That's natural.
No for sure, she kinda would just stand there back then, even in her standard concerts. She was just a goofy teenager, watched a video of her doing Sk8r Boi in 2003? and she literally was like "hi mom hi dad!" after (it was kinda great tbh)
So I give her a lot of slack on the not so perfect Fuel, and still find it pretty damn enjoyable
I still have a soft spot in my heart for the limp bizkit version of faith in a guilty pleasure sort of way, if that makes sense
sirius xm collecting the worst covers of all time like pokemon
Behind Blue Eyes was worse than Faith IMO.
100% agree
Well I guess it would have been nice for Limp Bizkit to do a better cover than that. I wonder if they should cover The Who.
Oh Wait-
Huh, guess that didn't go over well. Hey, maybe three time's the charm? Tool could probably suit their sound pretty well.
Was I supposed to read that to the tune of Faith? If so, nice reference!

“I can’t hate him for giving it a shot” is the funniest response ever, I love Daron. 😂
Kilos to your editor for that MGK POM combination. It takes talent to elevate crap to cheese.
Another MGK one that is gods awful? He, back in like 2011, covered "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against. It's absolute dogshit, turns the beautiful nihilistic track about accepting your place in the world into him just whining about his own life.
Don't forget, Kellin Quinn on the chorus
Always lovely to see your cat getting involved with the videos! :)
I imagine if we had the science to reanimate corpses for entertainment... MGK would be opening for them tonight
The cover of Faith is clearly meant to be a joke, I think it's both terrible and fun simultaneously.
However, the other ones aren't even fun, they're just terrible
Can wr just get an endless loop of the end of this video with MGK and Scantlin...
Title it "do you want to hear the most annoying sound in thr world?"
Ok, but can we talk about one of the best covers ever made, CAKE’s I Will Survive?
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes does a real good cover of "I Will Survive"
True, but all they do is covers so they have more experience in that feild
Evanesence can do the Chain, but not them
On your point about SiriusXM airing the Gotye cover because it was Three Days Grace: Didn't that same station also air that horrible Puddle of Mudd cover of Nirvana's About A Girl?
Edit: And that MGK cover of Aerials by SOAD, too haha, goodness sake SiriusXM!!
Enter Sandman by Weezer
We Didn’t Start The Fire by Fall Out Boy (I already hate the original and I’m a DIE HARD Billy Joel fan)
Last Resort by Falling In Reverse (stop with the trailer core covers)
Gone Away by FFDP (see point above)
Gone Away by FFDP was on the original list.
@@BurningAzure that’s right. Man I really need to rewatch videos
I actually love LB's cover of "Faith"
14:09 Goddamn it I was in the middle of eating and I almost choked laughing so hard😂😂😂😂
Re: Limp Bizkit's cover of "Faith"
I heard that George Michael had a MAJOR meltdown when he heard the cover, which is a plus in my book.
This was way earlier in Avril's career. She's an amazing singer now.Her "How You Remind Me" Nickelback cover was better than the original.
Well…that’s not hard to do lol
I continue to appreciate your work! I've started making content in part due to your Regretting The Past videos and your growth is inspiring. You also like wrestling, which is a plus!

Brooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, your kitty is ADORABLE!!!! Great video too as always!
Seeing Tantric on here, made me remember the two songs that played nonstop! Totally forgot about them.
I'll admit it, singing the Tantric version of The Chain at karaoke is one of my guilty pleasures.
That ending though…
It’s funny actually cause when Adam was still with TDG. They did an amazing cover of give in to me.
I think one of the covers I've heard that I was most disappointed in, was Halestorm's cover of "Girl Crush".
Girl Crush was HORRIBLY overplayed at the time. Everyone hated it (for one reason or another, but mostly being overplayed). When we still used FM radio at work, people would use our paging system to override the radio and interrupt it on a MASS scale.
I stumbled upon the cover by Halestorm, and thought, "oh alright, this could make a difference" at a friendly gathering. Immediate freak out. "WHY ARE WE LISTENING TO GIRL CRUSH?!?!" Calm the fuck down and give it a minute. It's Halestorm. Gave it a minute. Nope. Nope nope. No originality. No addition. No dressing it up. Just Lzzy Hale singing it. I apologized for giving it a chance, and moved on to better heavier things to cleanse our ear holes.
By no means "awful" like some of these (MGK, W.. T.. F..!). But, wow. A cash grab if ever I saw one.
Saw Motley Crue a month ago. Can confirm they're still playing Anarchy in the UK
theres 2 videos of limp bizkit covering prince's 1999 which was rejected from their albums tracklist by prince
I just gotta ask this once. Why is machine gun Kelly famous again?
Three days grace's version is the first time i ever heard "somebody that i used to know"...i love it
I know you like Robert Smith and The Cure. The new album is called London Lullaby. No new songs but remixes of different songs from different records.
That's not even the worst cover U2 did. At least, just imo. I hate their rendition of "Paint It Black" even more. That attempt at "Fortunate Son" is pretty bad regardless.
State of mine did an awesome cover of thunder rolls. Even garth brooks liked it
I loooove Faith by Limp Bizkit 😂 still anoying neighbours, Family and friends with this Version 😂😂
3:03- That one was bad,the one by State of Mind & Brandon Davis was 100% better.
I only know two of these covers so I’ll only comment on them.
The Limp Bizkit cover of Faith, I quite liked it when I first heard it although it doesn’t get many plays these days…
And Avril Lavigne covering Fuel was ok apart from the start, she doesn’t have the vocal power required for the “Gimme Fuel” opening.
I regret to tell you this but not only has Motley crue been doing anarchy in the uk on their recent tours but it's been a frequent staple of their shows since its release
I went to take a look at the cover of Fuel and noped the hell out before the drums kicked in.
That Aerials cover from MGK is still one of the worst things I've ever heard, like I'm a huge SOAD fan but that version is still absolutely cringeworthy as hell...
Limp Bizkit’s cover may be a product of its time, but it’s still a funny nu metal song. MGK is definitely the worst, it was painful to watch that…
Love the bounce back and forth between puddle of mudd and MGK at the end

Limp Bizkit’s faith is a fucking banger 🔥 Behind blue eyes is way worse
I found that speeding up the sound on the TDG cover actually makes it sound slightly better.... but just slightly lol
I swear, that awful Bad Wolves cover of Zombie needs to be on one of these videos someday. They took that haunting melody and made it into one of the weakest, limpest excuses of a cover of all time.
Pentatonix did a much better job of covering "Somebody I used to know".
I don't think Thunder Rolls deserves to be on here. Is it great? No, but its not awful
This poindexter makes hating Limp Bizkit his entire personality. How sad!
Thank you for reminding me that Faith was the first limp bizkit song and i have vivid memories of hearing it in the car as a child 🤣🤣🤣
I remember Avril performed Fuel. I'll be nice and say at least she tried.😂
Lyle Workman and Bon Thiele Jr did an amazing job covering 'Fortunate Son' on the soundtrack of Sons of Anarchy. No vocals, just acoustic guitars, and it works beautifully.
8:40 to 08:51 ♥
The three days grace cover is 🔥 idc
Limp bizkit cover of faith is the reason they blew up and took over and haters didn't know what to do other than hate 😂I don't like plenty of music. Difference is I don't even mention the bands 😂
when i saw mgk i thought you would be talking about his version of misery business. boy was i in for a rude awakening
I'm surprised Aaron Lewis' god-awful cover of Pearl Jam's "Black" didn't make either list.
I heard two things I didn't know existed this week. Cake did war pigs? Elton John and 2pac worked together?
All That Remains Thunder Rolls cover was underwhelming when I first heard it, but over time I started to like it more. I feel like the song was missing a big pay-off, but to say it was terrible I think is too far.
I actually like Avril's cover of Fuel. The original gives more "firing on all cylinders" energy, while I think Avril was going for more of a "slow burn" feeling, and when you think about her cover in that context, it was executed quite well.
To be honest I am actually a huge Eminem fan and i know this is a rock/metal channel but id love if you did a tier list ranking for Marshall's discography
You’d pry have a better time with nolifeshaq 😂
Here's an idea for a part 3: G-Eazy's cover of David Bowie's Lazarus.
i think rock covers or punk rock covers are not intended to make it better or anything. it's intended as a parody or just simply to ridicule the original song.
Don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually really like Limp Bizkit's cover of "Faith" - in fact, I've been getting quite a bit into this band in general lately. They're genuinely talented and a lot of fun. Even Fred Durst isn't all that bad, contrary to what most music nerds seem to agree on.
On the opposite end of the spectrun, I never even knew that cover of Green Day's "American Idiot" existed before watching this video, but hearing the singer of 5 Seconds of Summer sing the first line of the song made me cringe and that's when I realized this was going to suck. Can I go back to when I didn't know this cover existed, please?
Never heard of nor care about the rest, though, other than ARTV mentioning U2's cover of CCR's "Fortunate Son" in his video about the same topic of bad covers. Considering how great the original song is, I don't think I need to hear the cover to realize that the original is better.
Honorable mention suggestion: Our Last Night - Surface Pressure
It's not enough that Lin Manuel Miranda doesn't have the passion anymore if he's making songs purpose built to be popular on TikTok; we now have what sounds like a trashcore cover band taking advantage of Encanto's obnoxious meme status. And people wonder why I keep comparing modern Disney to Vought and EA combined.
"Faith" has grown on me over the years, the worst thing is that it came at a time when punk and metal was completely SATURATED with covers. Limp fans should check out the KLF and Extreme Noise Terror's off-the-rails rendition of 3AM Eternal performed at the 1992 Brit Awards
Motley’s cover of Like a Virgin was even worse than the Pistols cover . And as a Pistols fan I found that cover insulting and disrespectful .
The only cover I ever heard Avril Lavigne do with interestingly basket case from Green Day. Not sure how to feel about that.
I have to agree with you on All That Remains version of The Thunder Rolls. However, the State Of Mine version is amazing, especially the long version.
Didn't know of that Script cover before, just heard it and I may be biased because I have a bit of a spot spot for them, but I thought it was pretty solid
I don't agree with Tantric's cover being terrible. It's fine, but i've heard much much worse.
Avril's cover of chop suey is much worse than Fuel.
Better cover versions of some of these songs:
The Thunder Rolls - Dead Season (butt rock-ish, but I think actually done right)
Aerials (acoustic) - The Scratch (backing symphony adds a lot to an already great performance)
I liked faith, not gonna lie
Hendrix plays Sgt. Pepper in front of The Beatles - 🤘
Avril plays Fuel in front of Metallica - 🤦
What about Ozzy covering Stayin Alive?
The only one I partially don’t agree with is the Fuel cover by Avril Lavigne, I heard so many people say her live cover was terrible and then I listened to it and while it wasn’t great, it wasn’t awful either, just whatever. All these other ones though are terrible, especially 5SOS and MGK’s covers 🤮
I like Tantric’s version of The Chain
As much as I love Rob Zombie, his cover of Black Sabbath's Children of the Grave just completely misses the mark. The original was a rallying cry for the younger generation to push back against cold war politics before it got everyone killed. The cover kept the original lyrics but tried to make it into a B horror movie by adding newsreel audio about cannibalism and the dead rising. The instrumentation sounded good but... God damn.
i actually really like the cover of Faith.
