After watching this scene, I wished there was a scene in the comics that has Batman hold the gun that killed his parents b/c despite his training, intellect, and moral code he still needs to come to terms b/c in my mind Bruce Wayne's still that scared little 8-year old kid who saw his parents die in front of him because of some punk with a gun.
Holding a gun is one thing, but it is resisting to pull the trigger is one of the most difficult thing to do since it can end a life in the blink of an eye. Soldiers don't have that option since they have to follow orders to protect themselves, the squad, and our country. Police officers may have the option not to pull the trigger, but still have to when all options are gone.
