Rules are made to be broken, but mosaics are a very particular art form and it helps to know how to control the distraction of the tesserae to create a coherent and harmonious flow.

Rules, like rulers are useful and handy and have a purpose
I can *feel* the gasele while fish is pleasing and reminds of safe sterility
