This game was insane!! USA had leads of 2-1 3-1 5-3 ... Then the two teams traded goals in the final 2 minutes of the game, but USA ended it winning 8-7 in Overtime winning the Bronze medal... Tough scene for team Sweden who were less than a minute away from playing in the gold medal game...
Lindblom choked big time twice in a row, I've never seen worse goaltending, he was actually frozen solid by the pressure. WOW. I hope the kid survives this, but I don't see how.

What I’m saying is I don’t think he’ll have problems recovering, a hockey career is way more than the junior World Cup. As a swede our finish was disappointing but I’d blame the players more than the goalie.. we wouldn’t be anywhere near the semifinals without him, and we’re only 35 seconds away from the gold medal game..

As a swede these two games has been tough.. so close in both semis and this game. If our powerplay worked better im pretty sure we would play for gold. Altho i gotta say i get a bit teary seeing how all of the incredible canadian fans keep cheering for us, got some 2012 vibes when we played Russia in the gold medal game. Amazing, thanks Canada!

Salvaged a bronze after a 6 goal streak by Canada in the SF. But it wasn't easy...those Swedes put up a great fight. To think had they not committed the icing error late in the SF against Czechia they'd play for gold right now instead of being out of the medals...I applaud you Sweden. GG. 😁👏🏾

We have 2 olympic golds, 2006 swe won both gold in the world champs and in olympics. Sweden won gold in The world championship back to back 2017 & 18. Also in 2013 and 2004. We are not as good as we were 10 years ago but we still are a easily top5 team in The world today.

The sixth american I agree he should have saved, not much else can be blamed on swedish goaltending. Lindbom (Goalie) have had a near flawless tournament. It´s the defending players letting him down. This game alone 6 out of 8 goals come from moronic mistakes by his teammates (excluding 2nd and 6th)
Poor Lindbom played so well all tournament, and then this disaster. Maybe a slight drop in focus or motivation from having to play so soon after the previous day’s deflating loss.
As a Swede I feel good for the support we got from the canadian crowd. But mostly its's that neighbor thing. If Sweden plays Canada in Finland, the Finns cheer for Canada.

I'm Canadian and I usually cheer for Yanks vs European Top 6 Teams... unless their winning somehow hurts Team Canada... Underdog teams vs US are a different story...
@@liverpoolfan6 I agree with some of what you said, but you missed something. Augustine (starting USA goaltender) was pulled after the 2nd period, so he gave up only 5. Mbereko gave up the other 2 Swedish goals. Lindbom on the other hand was on the ice for all 8 USA goals.

As a big NHL fan and hockey fan that lives in the U.S I always root for our neighbors to the north in any game except against us. I understand the rivalry but I really couldn't figure out why the fans don't cheer for their brother to the south. I mean we share a whole entire hockey league together! Regardless, I still love Canada and Canadian hockey though and look to visit soon 🇺🇲❤🇨🇦

It's hard to maintain focus so soon after losing a chance to play for Gold... Yanks had the worst of it, because they played the late game and had to play again less than 24 hours later... Good on them, not giving up, plus finding a way to win this game... It wasn't pretty, but good on both teams, for fighting to the end, & giving us such an entertaining bronze medal match... won't be forgotten for quite some time...

If you talk about the USA 7-6 goal the refs did go and watch the replays and confirmed after that, that the goal was allowed. I watched it live on TV.
