- Did you take apart your JavaPresse manual burr grinder and now you don't know how to put it back together? Did you Google how? Did you find nothing about the black plastic washer? Here ya go!
Honestly maddam your video is lots better that the one from the designer team,I truly hope they paid you, thank you. 👍🏽
THANK YOU. Nobody mentioned the random black thing that would come flying out when I was trying to clean it LOL
Rewatched your video and found it. Thanks!
Thank you for posting this video. Was surprised when I received the JavaPresse manual coffee grinder and was directed to their website and CZcams channel for instructions on how to take apart, clean, reassemble... Will NEVER do business with JavaPresse again owing to that.
Thank you so much! Annoyed the company didn’t give us a manual in the box the device came in.
Thank goodness for people like you.
Thank you so much! I took mine apart to clean it and couldn't find any video in detail, like you just did, to put it back together. All the other videos were just general and not specific, lack of detail. I have actually not used it since because I was afraid of ruin our break it off not put back together correctly!
Great job! Thanks for posting. I would like to add my issue with the absence of the “click”. At the bottom of the new burr there is a star pattern of tiny ridges that match tiny indentations on the grind adjustment knob. My indentations filled with debris and the click didn’t happen and my grinder self adjusted to a very coarse grind as I was grinding. If you’re having that problem, clean out the indentations
I'll add my thank you. This was exactly what I needed. I had given up hope figuring out how this thing went back together. Your video walked me through it and my Javapresse is back in business.
If you were an eBay Seller I'd give you 5 Stars for this insightful video. The two sides of the dark plastic washer were clearly displayed by your camera. Had no trouble seeing which side to insert first. THANK YOU for posting this.
Thank you for clarifying the position of the little black washer, (which the Java Presse company did not address).
Thank you, that plastic washer had me stumped.
Great video, super helpful. I took mine apart and of course parts flew all over the place. I evidently lost one of the black washers. Java Press was fairly helpful, but there video is definitely lacking. They do sell a “repair” kit that comes with the spring, toothed washer, and the 2 black washer on Amazon. T
You are doing God’s work. Thank you.
Great video! I do have one suggestion, though. When you insert the metal rod at 1:13, it looks like there is a black washer on the end that you are holding (not the end you are inserting). I looked everywhere for it and finally assumed I must have lost that piece. However, on closer examination, I found that the square-ish side of the black washer you describe at 1:18 (the subject of your "Big Question") fits perfectly onto the place where you inserted the metal rod. So I took out the metal rod, then placed the black, plastic washer on *first* (fitting the square that sticks out on the washer to the square-shaped indentation around the hole that will house the rod). Then I inserted the metal rod, *after* putting the black washer on, and continued with your video. I kept wondering why the guy in the company video wouldn't mention the black washer. I now think he must assume we aren't going to remove the rod, so the black washer will never be removed. When he shows the Reassembly, the rod is already in there, with the black, plastic washer. Thanks for your video! I hope my suggestion is helpful.
Thanks Geoff! There are two black washers!
What I'd love to see that also doesn't exist from the company is an exploded diagram of all the parts! It makes no sense to me that you'd offer a diagram of your product with only some of the parts shown...
(And you're forgivven, Chrissy, for missing that one. You were emotionally compromised in making this video 😋)
Thank you for posting this. The video from the company is absolutely awful and literally starts out with the guy saying he never cleans his and how the parts don't need cleaned. Dude, this grinder has been through at least two distribution factories, I'm f******* washing it.
Didn’t even realize I put my washer on backwards until watching this video. Thank you so much!
Java Presse - pay this lady!
This video is exactly what I was looking for. You saved me a ton of frustration. THANK YOU!
Thank You Chrissy! I was that person. I went to Javapress to find the grind settings, then thought maybe I should clean it. So I started watching his video on cleaning and reassembly only to realize he only takes the burr out. Really? Thanks so much for this quick yet helpful video!
Very generous of you to make this. Thank you!
Thank you. I took it apart to clean and the star washer came out at some point, and I had no idea where it went. A simple exploded diagram in the instructions would have been very helpful.
thank you so much! yes, even the little black washer. I couldn't find the information anywhere but here!!!!
A huge thank you for creating this video! I've twice now had to put together my grinder using the Javapresse video and it's terrible. 10 minutes long and it's STILL not helpful! I actually took the time to e-mail the company at their customer service e-mail account to ask about the black washer, and despite e-mailing twice, they never bothered to reply. I've since lost that part anyway, but I'm super unimpressed with Javapresse's customer service. So glad to have found this alternative!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!!!!! The little black ring with circle and square sides fell when I was cleaning the top part of the grinder and I had NO IDEA where it came from and where I should put it back. Now I know. Thank you!!!
Thank you! I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure this out with no success.
This was sooooo helpful. I cleaned mine for the 1st time last night (it's new) and that popped off. Seems I put it in the right way but there was no proper way to be sure. Thanks a bunch!
First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video! Incredibly helpful. Second...did anyone else have two plastic black washers in theirs? I'm assuming the second goes after the metal washer/before the grinder...but not sure. Any guidance would be appreciated!
I received two black plastic washers also. I’m thinking the second one goes at the top of the shaft where the rod, that is turned by the handle, goes into the shaft. I hope that made sense. I didn’t replace that washer yet because the original didn’t seem to want to be removed and I didn’t want to force it and break something important, like the shaft itself
I come back to this video every time I clean my grinder. I somehow lost the plastic washer somewhere along the way, but it still seems to work. But I don’t want to mess it up even further and I’m glad I can always come back here after a cleaning. Thanks! 🖤
Thank you so much for your video, Most appreciated ❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 🙏
When she says put the circle side down and put the prongs facing down. She means that they will be facing down towards the ground when the grinder is upright.
hope that avoids confusion because thats not what i think of when i hear put them in facing down. To me that means when i slide them into the grinder they will be facing towards the grinder
Yes correct that's what I meant, thanks! If the words are confusing just follow the visuals:)
omg, god bless you for helping us out. Javapresse should cut you a check for helping them out! Seriously. 🤗❤️👍🙏
Thank you I agree
Thanks for making this! I was in the same situation you were in after watching the "official" video...
Seriously, thank you!
Thanks so much. This worked for my recently purchased Zolay coffee grinder which had the same parts and looks like it's out of the same factory. Thanks!
Haha "you're welcome Java Press". Seriously lol. I don't even remember how I fixed it months ago. I may have just handed it to my husband and said "FIX IT!" It works, so.... I guess we did something right. Thanks for this vid! I'll save it.
Thank you for this!! I thought I wrecked my new grinder when I didn't know where to put the black washer!
Thank you!! Seriously thanks!
the 2 black washers broke in mine and have been using it without them. Works fine even if grounds get inside the shaft.
Michael Scott "Thank you!" Gif
Thanks, You da real mvp.
Thank you so much!
Thank you! Very thorough explanation.
THANK You! I even contacted them by email, specified that I was having trouble with the black washer and the axel, and received a prompt and very polite reply, but did not get the info I really needed--which way does the black washer go??
Awesome. Thanks!
Thank you!
You are my hero
THANK YOU.
Thank you ❤
Thank You!!
Thanks!
This was perfect
Wait, you said circle side down at 1:40 but... it looked like you put it square down.
Eek no! Haha I wanted this to be so crystal clear! Circle side down, and by “down” I mean, when you’re done putting it together and you sit it on the counter, that part is facing down towards the counter.
Yeah, I too was frustrated by the imprecise Javapresse video on how to reassemble the grinder. Thank you. And I'd pay if I could figure out how. To be honest, though, I'd pay mostly for the pleasure of looking into your eyes. I know, inappropriate. I've had 4 cups of coffee trying to figure this out.
Exactly what i was looking for thanks
Thank you
OH MY GAWD THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I took mine apart thinking 'oh this is simple. just unscrew the things, clean it up, let it dry, and put them back together'. Nope. That little metal washer with 'teeth' fell into my garbage bin as i was unscrewing the nut so that i wasn't getting grounds on my floor. Put it back together and it wasn't spinning. I searched here on YT and your video came up first! Thank you so so much! I would've never found that washer had you not highlighted it!
Edit: It doesn't feel the same as it did. And when i turn the nut all the way clockwise (the 'extra fine' grind) it's locked in place and won't spin until i unscrew the nut just a couple clicks. before i took it apart, it would spin when the nut was all the way tightened. Any insight?
Very strong work. Thanks
God bless your soul
Thank you!!!!!!!
Thank you so much. Can someone tell the company that their video is missing pieces?! 😂
You're the BEST! Thanks.
Thank you very very much!! I was trying to clean it out since it had stopped grinding and when I took the grinder piece off, the inner guts came popping out. Every way I tried to reassemble it didn’t work . My grinder is labeled brilliants but it’s the exact same unit. Will looking for your video I came across one where a guy solves the slippage in the grinder by putting a nut on the end of the bar after the adjustment screw to fix your grind level in place - size was 6 x 1mm. CZcams video was called something like turning my $10 grinder into a $50 one
Oh that's good to know, thanks!
I wish i found this video 12 hours ago, since the company does not mention the black washer, I was super confused.
Thank you so much....excellent.
The company may not thank you, but I sure will!
I have 2 identical black washers! Where does the 2nd one go?
Thank you will a check be OK? 😊
Thanks for this video. Luckily it was the first thing I saw to find out how the black washer goes. Btw, did the company remunerate you?
Thank you sooo much for this!!
? if you look at the instructions that come with the grinder there is a link to a video that tells you how to reassemble it
Oh great then you should be fine
Thank you so much haha
Thank u! How do we pay u =)... The company should pay u
How did you figure out what setting for a pour over?
I haven't done pour over but I believe its similar to drip coffee settings? Somewhere in the "medium" range. Definitely requires experimentation!
Thank you. The manufacturer's video was not helpful. I couldn't figure out how the two black washers fit in because he never showed that part.
@javapresse PAY THIS WOMAN
😂
The company video says the washer prongs should face outward - so, opposite of what you're saying.
She does it the same way as the company video. By "down" she means down when you're all done and it's right-side up.
I found a video by someone claiming to be the owner of JavaPresse. You did what took him three times as long. A "dude", which he isn't much of, should be much better at things like that.
Thanks, i Just broke that piece of mierda
Thank you!
Thanks!!!
