- #264. Using ALCOHOL To Make HOLOGRAPHIC Effects In Resin Art!
In todays Resin Art video, I show how I achieved some crazy almost holographic looking pieces by using alcohol on my resin and then curing.
The alcohol on the resin created the shiniest finish and texture I have ever seen in resin art! Along with the nail powders, the results are incredible!
I filmed this one a few weeks ago now and have only just got round to editing and uploading, we are so close to 100,000k now guys, thanks so much!

Ok, now for the disclaimer! Isopropyl alcohol is extremely flammable! NO FLAMES OR TORCHES! NO SOURCES OF IGNITION! Isopropyl can self ignite but it requires a temperature of 400C/750F, UV resin can get hot whilst curing (not as hot as the isopropyl needs to be to self ignite) however, Isopropyl fumes can ignite if there are any sources of ignition near by, I do not know which lamps you are using or if they may have breaks in the wires (source of ignition).... for this, I am advising not to try this experiment at home!

I honestly think if you use a little bit of the yellowish gold with the blue in the white and then add maybe a little bit of the lighter greys and darker gray you could come up with almost a perfect labradorite Stone maybe even using a darker alcohol ink to get the cracking in it as well I think that you could achieve that and I think it would be absolutely wonderful! I know I am definitely going to try it out labradorite is my absolute favorite Stone next to the moonstone

Very cool ❤ i really like them all the on with the stick detail my fav also i was thinking maybe a face in there might shift nicely thencover with more resin reply another face powdered on in a darke shade then cover again so you have his and hers faces shifting i dont know if this poss but just idea some memory incased in brain lol anyhow your stuff is the absolute best and because your so interesting it really get people like me thinking more you sir have got my imagination popping like it hasn't in a very very long time I thank you you re- awakened my creativity !! !

I love those iridescent colors in those pieces. I wonder if that can be done with a pen blank that has the brass tube suspended in the mold and plugged off at both ends?
I actually managed to get a bottle of the frost effect. Had to keep checking on it. Then one day it was actually in stock!🥳
I really like the one where you scratched the back with the tooth pic ! Have you ever thought of useing alcohol markers? I'm thinking...fill the mould 1/2 way with clear, and cure it. Then use the marker(s) to make some design on the back. Finally fill the rest of the mould..and cure again. I wonder if the marker would move, or stay the way it was laid down?

Hey Daniel! Wow! These are just stunning! I use the Vallejo ice paint frequently, I love the stuff! I was looking into the finish on faux opals, you do a matt finish, which looks good, but I realised the top on a natural opal is more milky than matt. So I mixed some white pigment with UV resin and did a top coat, I'm not bragging (ok maybe a lil bit lol) but it came out stunning, so perhaps give it a try? Being as it's a top coat with resin it gives a shine like a natural opal gives when polished, just milky! Thanks as always, you're a total inspiration and I appreciate you so much x
