It was nice meeting up with you and Sara again. Excellent day to be in the Olympics and just to look at big rocks. I did go back with Jeff and Forrest and we collected that jasper I pulled out of the stream. Hard to believe I could barely move it and it wasn't a big jasper.
I'm glad you went back for it and it was great seeing you again as as well!
I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Rockhounding in that terrain is no joke. Kris has been such a mentor to many of us! He knows that terrain well and just has a good time.
Man those things are huge! We were cutting some big jasperized agatized stromatolites today and… it may be time for a new blade and we may have to figure out how to slow the feed rate. Our jasper was tiny compared with the one Kris found. Too big 🤷🏻♂️😆 I didn’t feel like spending 10 hours. Hope Old Guy makes some more videos but I think he said he’s done a while back
The giant red Jasper is absolutely surreal!!! What a find!
It was all very cool to see.
Great Adventure Jared with the 'Old Guy'. Don't believe I've ever seen Jasper so large before. Thanks for letting us tag-a-long!
I was glad to see Kris last weekend (Oct 7th)
I had a great time this weekend, can't wait to cut into some of the black/red agate
That red is so vibrant!!! I absolutely love red jasper!
OG always has the best settings for rock hounding. So peaceful.
Good video. He seemed like a good guy. Willing to share his treasures and advice. I hope you are going to show us the end results of the cuts.
Thanks for sharing Jared! Such a beautiful area to enjoy. 🌲
I'm glad you liked it!
Old Disabled House Bound Dusty Rusty Rockhound here: Absolutely enchanting! I used to hike with my kids all over the Olympic Penninsula of WA. It's magical!
Those are some massive Jasper boulders!
If only one could extract those out for some nice decorative lawn rocks 🪨 😅
Nice to see you guys getting the Olympic experience! Kris is the best guide in the area!
The seam that green jasper came from is way up river, up several tributaries, at the very top of my claim. It is the same stuff as the slabs and cab I sent you before. Beautiful stuff!
Sorry I was busy that day, I could have taken you to the claim and shown you the huge red plume agates I'm mining. Keep on digging!
I knew when you saw that green that you would know exactly where it came from. I had the same thought when I picked it up
It was great getting out into that area and seeing.
Maybe next time we can coordinate a little bit better and make that visit happen!
Holy Cow… Those were huge and beautiful Jaspers.
Nice finds, old guy knows where to go. Thanks! Looking forward to seeing those jaspers cut and polished.
It's always nice to be shown around by a local expert in the area.
Love Old Guy Adventures ❤Great to see you hounding together.
If only we lived closer to each other.
I am really starting to appreciate Jasper. I am looking forward to you cutting that green one.
Same!
It's really pretty stuff.
That jasper is gorgeous when cut and slabbed! I really liked that green piece he gave you...that was unusual. Your videos are always a delight!
That was amazing. Some incredible jaspers. Your very blessed to be able to do that. ❤
It was an amazing outing.
Wonderful trip with neat finds
Lovely jaspers. Thanks for sharing.
Love both you guys. Been watching you both for along time.
Thank you so much! :)
Cool beans! Lovely finds! Lovely scenery!
I am just learning the differences in jasper and agates, etc. Love your content! Edutainment at its finest
I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
That is one awesome walking stick!
Kris! Get back to making videos! Miss you!
I also hope that at some point he can start making videos again.
Great video, as always! Love the Jaspers! I have many that have not been getting enough attention from me, lol!
Right on love old guy adventures
Wow, incredible rocks!!
Excellent jasper hunt! Next is the slow joy of cutting them. Thank God for diamonds.
Gorgeous!
Wow ! I live in Quilcene right on the river tons of Jasper SO cool to see u hounding in my neck of the woods !!
Beautiful jaspers
Wow. Awesome to see. Thank you and your friend for sharing this amazing place. ⚒️🪨💎✌️
Sub’d to Kris looks like a fun channel! What a cool creek
Amazing location!! How fun!!
Thank you!
Excellent video!...makes me want to come back out to the PNW!....please cut some slabs out of that green jasper!..im looking forward to seeing it polished!
It will get cut up some!
Thank you for these videos! I may be binge watching this weekend. Riffe Lake in Morton, Western WA is a great place to rockhound, petrified wood etc. I am far from a geologist, but I do recommend Riffe in the late Fall-Winter while the water is down, a lot of treasures to be found!
I'm glad you liked it!
OHHHHHH MANNNN here we go!!!
:)
Somewhere way up close to the headwaters of Germany creek is a pice of red jasper the is almost as big as this massive one . Pop and I could not get it out of the canyon so we left it . This was 30 years ago so I imagine mother nature reclaimed it into the creek bed
nice finds
The forests on the Olympic peninsula are so freaking thick you could see only a few yards away. I can see why people have claimed to see Bigfoot or other creatures.
Dude those are some huge beautiful jaspers. You almost need a hand truck or wagon if you can roll it towards a trail.
Wow... 😮 ... 🎉
Nice.
I’ve gone to the Chehalis River and found agates and Jasper.❤
Nice!
Cool finds. Old Guy is not that old😀
Tell that to my body, it seems to think I am almost done
You are agile as a stag. Look at the places you get to! Pretty buff.@@OldGuyAdventures
That's some squatchy looking woods. 🦍
Welcome to my nationhood, the real PNW. I know the location of a piece of jade the size of a bus. It's in the park, found it in an old survey.
Wow! I just found some 11 lb + Jasper specimens here in Arizona. Any chance you two will be going to the Quartzsite or Tucson rock and gem shows?
I would say its very unlikely that we can make it to those shows this year but it would be really fun to go.
Huge pieces of Jasper and other rocks. It can be Dangerous though.
@15:39....omg......@18:48 is that red monument jasper?
What was the green rock called? I find a lot of it here in CA. Is it just a green jasper? I think it is related to serpentine, but much harder. I can’t scratch it with my knife. It has some translucency. Some people call it chert. But chert is opaque.
The green rock here was just green jasper.
There's also lots of other green rocks that do look pretty similar.
At 8:55, what is that walking in the background by the river?
That is Sarah and Lyka walking by the road that was 30ft from where they were standing.
@@ssteele1812you were supposed to say Bigfoot
In this case it was some little feet.
Do you have gps location for this spot?
Unfortunately I do not.
