Looks great. I hv cooked okra since I was a kid, now in my early fifties, I hv never seen any cook soda okra with onions in it. Good to know & well done 👍
I used to over cook the one with soda, but got better with my mum as the taste tester ,this was a while back tho. Great video might try the fried version at some point.
Both have their unique tastes, but I haven't eaten okra for a long time and just looked up videos on CZcams. That's how I found your channel. Thank you so much for sharing. You have another subscribe from the diaspora born and raised from Mufulira.

Hai Coco, question... 2 actually 😁😁
As far as you're concerned, which recipe is more nutritious and how do I know the right amount of soda to add to the okra?
Hi Timothy, I would say both are equally healthy just depends on which one you prefer. As for the soda, its half a teaspoon per cup.
I heard you say you add bicarbonate of soda, is that chapamandashi?
Not chapamandashi. Bicarbonate of soda is just normal soda
chapamandashi is baking powder used for scones, cakes, biscuits etc
Did you add oil in the pot when you started cooking okra with soda?
No oil was added. Just soda was used.
Thanks for the response.
Warm water or cold water to the soda okra?
Hey I use cold water
Looks really delicious. What is the purpose of adding soda bicarbonate? What does that do? Also can I make the soup without the soda bicarbonate?
the purpose of the soda is to make it more slimy.
And also make it cook faster
And it remains green
The one with soda
1 with soda.
Does using soda make it really salty?
No it doesn't. Soda in that small quantity has no taste
What’s the purpose of the soda please
It's to make to okra soft
Fried is better
So the soup one doesn’t contain oil ?
No the one with soda does not contain any oil
@@cococooks_ thank you .
To do it quicker, take multiple okra at a time. It saves time.
Is soda, sodium bicarbonate?
Yes soda is sodium bicarbonate
That's oils was so much.
A lot of oil ain't healthy at all
