- In this episode we recon the BMC Toys World War II Army Men Playset. This set is comprised of 114 pieces and features three factions and three large bunkers.

I bought this set many years ago, but the only thing that I apreciated was the kit (LCVP, Hedgehogs, Bunkers, etc). In my opinion the soldiers have ridiculous poses and they're disproportionate. I don't understand the figure of Harrison Summers. He was a paratrooper and he was dropped behind Utah Beach!

i like army men i have a lot of soilder,tank,plane,boat,truck,jeep,tower,trees,artilery. and couple of sandbags , supplies box,flags,and 1 tank that is ugly and made out of paper that i built

I have been wanting this. Now I want it even more! I really wish BMC did a loyalty program...or points...or you know for people who buy a lot like Lego VIP or something but I asked and they said no. They are quality products but it gets expensive when you want it all. Lol
something i did was that i used silver sharpie to color over the hedgehogs and dragons teeth to make them look realistic

That's awesome! I love that there are so many different countries we are reaching. We are building an international coalition. It reminds me of the original Tom Clancy book, Rainbow 6 and the first video games which were very realistic and difficult. One of the top assaulters was from Brazil.

I just made a purchase of just over £205 including postage. I'm waiting for my bank to authorise the transaction then it will be sent in the post from America to England! I'm expecting there will be a hefty customs charge, but I want them none the less! The only colour I need now is orange, after the purple and yellow soldiers arrive with me in the UK! I also have 11 of the army men games by 3DO! I need a ned PC because some of them are CD rom games that won't play on my PS2. Soldiers are just my thing, other people go out and spend all their money of alcohol and throw up in the streets, I don't think me being into plastic soldiers is really a big deal! People say to me, "Aren't you a bit old to still have army men?" or "You need to throw them out!" But each to their own, you get men in their 40's and 50's who play with Warhammer or watch cartoons! I collect police and army figurines! I even have pink soldiers! Playing with my army men is something I have enjoyed almost all my life! I used to play with them when I was a very young child, and then again when I was 13 and haven't looked back. BMC toys are some of the higher quality soldiers on the market, I enjoy opening the packages when they get delivered by the post man!

I suggest looking at the Iwo Jima playset by bmc toys, the figures and accessories are a lot better.
Yeah
Iwo Jima U.S Marines are good figures. But some of the U.S Army and Germans look deformed. The heads are big and long necks.

I can't find anything on the diamonds on the side of the landing craft. I guess make a call to the national wwll museum. Maybe they'd know.

Some of this U.S and German soldiers look like aliens as I've said before. There head and necks are kinda big and long. Lol!
I always wanted this set but it's pretty expensive
My advice. But this set in individual. The U.S and Gernan soldiers are deformed. Look at there heads and neck. BMC does make better ones tho. And they are good in supplying hardware. Buildings,bridges,Barb wires and so on.

Yes, as if locking together. I attempted to prop them up that way, but couldn't get it to work.
I looked at historical photos, and it appears there's the X shape, then there is a single piece that is fastened at an angle, and goes between the X, so that it stands.

BMC should add the CTS Americans and Germans then delete their terribly molded BMC counterparts except the Brits and Rommel. Once that's done sales of this set should triple. Plus suggest other items like the trucks, jeeps, troops, cannon sets, tents, etc on the same screen.
why do you wear gloves all the time?
I do a lot of work with my hands. Blemishes may be a distraction. The gloves allow for you to simply focus on the army men. :)

I have bought this set it is a great set but I do not think it is ok to make toys of these things these men should be honored not made into a play set I do not think this is what the 20,000 people are hat died that day fought for
The British soldiers look good....not feeling the American or German soldiers. Marx much better. Just my $.02
