      I had to pause the video because I was laughing and couldn't hear you. 🤣 I ordered a Japanese Maple and it showed up with scale!!!! We have 6 other ones plus my houseplants. I've been diligently cleaning them off. Just remember my friend, I only just said, I've never had trouble with any pests. First spider mites and now scale. I should have just not said a thing. 🙊🤐
      I hope you have a Happy Easter tomorrow!!

      I know!! My poor babies! Thankfully the weather is nice and I can quarantine. I don't know how they spread so I'm being super careful. Are you still into the begonias? I have a brevirimosa. I wanted it because I saw one and it was gorgeous!! Only it looks real sad. Not sure if it doesn't like being in a box for days or it doesn't like me. Only time will tell. Just not sure what to do for it.

      @@cindyjohnsen326 Hey Cindy. The only begonias I’ve kept are angel wings. Did you just receive that one or have you had it a while? They don’t always travel well, it seems.

    Hi Paul. You seem to know when to put out just the right video. My Peperomia Red Watermelon is ready to come out of soil and I was trying to decide which S/H medium to use. I’ll be interested to see an update on your plants before I move mine from soil. Thanks for sharing a great video.

      Awesome. Thank you so much!!! So far both are doing great. No wilting from either of them. I’ll keep you posted and will definitely do an update as well. 😃👍🏼

    I'm terrified for my plants right now because I saw an ant yesterday on my one plant desk, I'm not used to living in an apartment and we are starting to get sugar ants looking for moisture. I feel like I should rehome all my plants and Isopods because the ants will get into them in seek of moisture. : ( I even grow my monstera's in nothing but water.

      It’s something a lot of ppl don’t even think about, regarding pests. I know I hadn’t. Hopefully you won’t have an issue like I did. 😞

    Would you recommend using yarn in a prop box as a substitute for sphagnum moss?

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Před 4 měsíci

      For me, I like to keep plants in yarn. Otherwise there can be some root loss when transplanting. Unless you use a small amount and you transplant the yarn as well. But might not be as easy as moss or perlite, that can stay on the roots. 👍🏼

    Do you water with just water or fertilizer in the water?

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I only add fertilizer once the the plants start showing new growth. But peperomia aren’t heavy feeders so it’s not as important than with other plants. 😊

    Thank You Paul for Another Great video ; is there an approximate length of chain yarn that You use for most of Your plants ? ☺️✨

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hello. Thank you so much!! It really depends on the container it’s going in. I make the chains and then try stuffing it in the container. Nothing set in stone tho. Should be more than half full of yarn when you’re done. 😃👍🏼

    Do you recommend using leca or lava rock?

    • @paultheplantparent2702
      @paultheplantparent2702  Před 4 měsíci +3

      Both work well. I tend to use lava rock because it’s available locally and it wicks moisture higher than Leca. But Leca is easier to remove roots from if you’re transplanting to another medium. Both have good and not-so-good qualities. 😉
