Your analysis overlooks the historical context of British colonialism granting Ogaden, Howd, and reserve areas to Ethiopia.
Additionally, it fails to address Ethiopia's existing control of the Djibouti port through leasing agreements and its lease of the Berbera port in Somaliland.
suggesting that Ethiopia is seeking ownership of ports and military bases close to its borders rather than further lease agreements.
This situation suggests a potential gradual annexation of the 20-kilometer land and sea territories by Ethiopia.
However, it's crucial to note the historical territorial disputes between Somalis and Ethiopia.
Many Somalis view this as another instance of Ethiopian invansion in their land, potentially escalating into a significant conflict in the Horn of Africa.
Somalia is actively combating the Al-Shabaab insurgency and making notable progress. The nation is emerging from a prolonged civil war. Conversely, Ethiopia's governance is increasingly autocratic, with the Abiy administration accused of orchestrating massacres against the Tigray people in the Tigray region, prompting concerns from several human rights groups about potential ethnic cleansing.
Similar conflicts are unfolding in the Amhara and Oromia regions, where government forces are clashing with armed rebels. Notably, economic hardships persist, leading the country toward a potential descent into civil war that could integrate the country.
In an apparent attempt to divert public attention from these pressing issues, the Abiy government has opted to open a new front by signing an agreement with a breakaway region that remains unrecognized by any country.

Correction- After Eritrea’s independence in 1991 Ethiopia was allowed to use Eritrea’s ports of Assab and Massawa for almost free of charge.
Just before Ethiopia declared war on Eritrea in 1998 under the pretext of border dispute Ethiopia abandoned using g these ports and diverted all cargo ships to Djibouti. And the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said that he doesn’t want Eritrea to profit from the port services and added that Eritrea can use the port of Assab as a pond for the camels to drink from. That was the arrogance of Ethiopia’s best leader. Ethiopia’s major problem has always being lack of wise leadership with a vision that promotes social justice and the rule of law. Sadly for the Ethiopian people it’s the same vicious cycle of conflict, poverty and corruption where the inflation is skyrocketing and youth unemployment unbearable and the debts repayments to both China and the west have defaulted.
If the internal conflict, corruption and the economic bankruptcy is not addressed Ethiopia will end up like Sudan and eventually disintegrate like Yugoslavia.

Abiy Ahmed really fooled the world when he received the Nobel Peace Prize, the man has become more dangerous, mastering the art of destabilizing the region. He has initiated numerous conflicts in Ethiopia, a fragile state with various ethnic problems. Now, making a deal with the breakaway region in northern Somalia, Ethiopia opens the door for other countries to make similar agreements with regions like Tigray. All African nations understand the importance of respecting colonial-era borders due to potential breakaway regions in each country.

Eritrea has always been a sovereign country that has been colonised for more than century. Eritrea was colonisd by the Turksh Ottoman empire for 300-400 years, then the Egyptian, then the Italian, then the British, then the Ethiopian. In the early 1950s, after the British colonisation of Eritrea, Eritrea was refused their independence and given a federation treaty with Ethiopia. This was done forcfully without the voice or referendum of Eritrean people, while all African colonised countries was given their independence. That federation treaty was unlawfully violated and abolished by the last emperor of Ethiopia and Ethiopia colonised Eritrea. After 30 years of war for independence against the resistance of the colony of Ethiopia , in 1991 Eritrea gained its lawful and legal independence which was supposed to happen in the early 1950s just like all agrican colonised countries. In 1993, a referendum for independence was held and 99.8% of Eritrea people voted for independence.

Ethiopia has probably more organised ethnic liberation movements than any country in Africa, multiple regions are clamouring for independence. They just ended a 2 year civil war against Tigray who wanted to secede. The flames in Oromia is still burning and the Somali region can blow up anytime .Not to mention Abiy completely violated the Tripartite Agreement with Eritrea & Somalia signed in 2018 which states that they must all “respecting each other's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity”. It’s because the Ethiopians still follow the original teachings of Christ remember this is not a war about control of land… it’s a spiritual war as much as it’s physical most people are aware that there is a lot of books taken out of modern day Roman Catholic Christianity, there’s rumours they have the ark there

2006 Ethiopia invaded Somalia. Out of that invasion Alshabab was born. Since then, Ethiopia was forced to withdraw; however, they left behind Alshabab powerful enough to wreak havoc both in Somalia and to the lesser extent Kenya and Uganda. Now, if Ethiopia invades Somali Red Sea coast, southern tip of Bab El Mandeb where 30% of world commerce passes through, no doubt, Alshabab and more extreme groups will gather there and the whole world trade will be affected. This time around, 100% of the Somalis are in agreement to fight the invading forces.
