- This video is showing you how to build your own pulley system for your deer, boar, bear, elk, etc. I hope this video helps you out and gives you some options to think about. Also I forgot to mention I got the pulleys from Tractor Supply and the rope and tie down from Walmart.
Thank you for watching and please don't forget to like the video and subscribe. Please comment and let me know if this video helps you out and if the pulley system worked for you. Thank you and God bless you
That's a great set up. I will try this myself. Thanks for the idea brother!
the harbor freight $16 is a no brainer. I thought it was probably cheap but the pulleys with a brake and hanger are durable.
Thank you for this video. I needed this
Ton of help, I’m currently building something similar at my farm.
Looks great! I'm making one to mount on my trucks hitch.
That's awesome 👌
GREAT JOB I'M GOING TO USE YOUR IDEAS ....APPRECIATE GREATLY YOU SHARING IT WITH US HUNTERS
Thank you, greatly appreciated !👍🏻
Good video and idea. Find you a boat winch and make it easy peasy to lift whatever.
Nice set up!!!! Only thing you need is trailer winch or power winch
Maybe run some through bolts with a plate backing on the main pulley. The screws could rot out the wood over time just enough to drop the deer when you start tugging
That was my thought. The last thing you want is an animal falling right at the time you've got a knife in your arm next to it
I’d add a $20 hand crank harbor freight boat winch!!!☝️
Would it be easier just to mount a crank on there than pulling especially for scanning because sometimes you just want adjusted a couple inches
Where did you get the gambrel/spreader bar?
Nice! Clean and functional setup. Have you tried it out yet?
Yes working pretty awesome. Thanks for watching
Out of curiosity, how much effort does it take to lift a deer? I’m sure a doe isn’t bad, but at best you’re not really getting any mechanical advantage since the pulleys are just a change of direction. Would it be better to find an old (or buy new) boat winch or something similar to help gain more advantage? I’d love to be able to dedicate a space for skinning/quartering game but don’t own any property to hunt, nor do I feel inclined to build such on the private land we have permission to hunt.
Yes it doesn't take much for a small doe or much of the deer around where I live. Yes a boat winch would be an excellent alternative.
Wrap the line in a figure 8 around the cleat.
Thanks for the heads up
