  • It's Big Oil vs. landowners on the Sandhills of Nebraska and the underdog is near defeat. How far will the ranchers go to protect one of the most sensitive eco-regions in the US against oilsand crude and the Keystone XL pipeline?

Wow this is crazy. This is the first time I have heard of this area. I hope the pipeline didn't come and never does
We need to leave our natural areas alone

The keystone pipline died duriin 2021. President Biden signed an executive order to revoke the permit in Jan 21. In June, TC Energy pulled out of the deal.

Washington will never listen. You make too much sense. I profit from U S oil, but I respect your issue. God bless all of you.

Why doesn't Nebraska's governor tell them to stay away from the aquifer?

Cause he is a crappy govenor who only does things to get what he wants, and that is the pipline. doesn't really matter now anyway.

PLEASE protect the sandhills at all cost!! One of the few wide-open beautiful areas left in the US!! I've travelled the country on my motorcycle....there are few areas as beautiful as the sandhills in my opinion! Tear down fences, screw Trans Canada, and let nature be nature.

Too bad it couldn't be engineered such that the risk of a leak is extremely small.

I was at standing rock with a bunch of comrades from the nebraska leftist coalition and black flag anarchists we may not see eye too eye but we are in this fight together

I can understand the ranchers view in the Sandhills and no one wants to have a pipeline in their backyard but let's face it we (including those ranchers) all need fossil fuels and enjoy the comfort of heating our homes with natural gas, driving our vehicles with gas and diesel and the hundreds of other daily conveniences brought to us by fossil fuels.

I wonder, too, why they can't build the Keystone pipeline to bypass this part of the country?

This woman only understands a tinge of the sandhills.

I grew up in the Sandhills, purest water you will ever find; the area is the only one of its kind in the world and should be protected at all costs. They've shut them down for now and hopefully it will stay that way. Not sure what "tinge" (?) you are referring to but Jane Kleeb will continue to advocate for this beautiful area and those who make their living there.
