My original goal was to paint a plaid fabric to create a custom, pop of color, print.
But when I went thrifting, I found an amazing men's flannel jacket that was cool, but way to big on me.
So we have a little two-for today!
Painting a plaid fabric and also tailoring a large jacket to fit your body exactly.
The tailoring part does require a sewing machine, but the cropping is scissors only. And the painting is obviously....painting only.
Take from this video, whatever works for your skill set!

I think the pink just made this shacket absolutely the most stand-out piece. I wish that I was more aware of the things you are cutting and sewing and making look so darn easy-I’ve tried and cried 🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️🙀and the sewing machine wound up being a nice gift for my mom. 😊
Then only do the things that are fun for you. It's only worth doing if it gives you joy. So if it cause stress, just pass and only do the painting part of it

Flannel isn’t something I ever go for because it’s usually so masculine, but I might have to try this out - tailoring it makes it cute and paint makes it SUPER fun.
Also, you don’t understand how beyond OBSESSED I am with that first pair of jeans you put on with it! I immediately started trying to figure out how I could make them myself but then you said you DIY’d them so I’ll be here eagerly awaiting that.

I've wanted to reduce the shoulders of a shacket for a long time and wasn't sure how to do it. Now I can fix it- As usual you are a source of practical and cute solutions. Thanks!!!
Oh Elena I'm so happy! Just remember, the armhole is going to get bigger. So you'll either have to reduce the width out of the body. OR you can add the boule to the shoulder like a tiny poof sleeve

Orly, you are SO cool! Your projs blow me away! I, amoung countless others, feel you are one-of-a-kind! I just wish I was 20ys younger. Keep doing what you're doing. Advice to young girls ALL over reading this...learn how to sew as soon as it's humanly possible! I'm learning in my 50s, get easily frustrated. I get there, just takes a bit. Mastering Orly's level may not happen in my lifetime? But I'm giving it my best shot?! ❤️
