Herm Lewis was part of my childhood growing up on the westside of Modesto. Always loved Hip Hop with a message. Glad to see him doing good. When I hear him on Larry June albums it brings back good memories.

Thanks so much for that interview!! I grew up in the 90‘s as a teenager and was always listening to his music. His voice and lyrics are so strong. His Intros and Outros are so special and made him famous. He always had something to tell. Not to forget the others like Primo, T-Lowe and the whole 5/11-Crew and RBL-Posse…Even after nearly 30 years now I have the same vibes while listening to their music. I introduced my son (16 years old) to his music and he is totally into it now. He especially loves the track Three OG‘s.
dope name nico lol , but 4real your right his music & knowledge was such a blessing to the culture , thats so dope to hear that your son is into it at 16

Peace, Nico, My name is Samm Styles. I directed that video you showed for Primo CIty of Players, that you showed and were talking about. it was cool to see video and cool to listen to interview. Respect to the Homie Herm I also directed many other bay area videos such as: RBL Bounce to This, 4Tay Players Club, Players Club Remix, Ain't no Player, JT The Bigger Figga, Game Recognize Game and Dwelling in the Lab, The Delinquents Alley Way that included the Luniz in it. Thats how i got here to this video, watching your interview with my dude Num. I've done video for others. I would love to talk to you about the body of Music video work from myself and other local music video directors from the bay during that time. Salute.

You know what's fucked up? When Herm talks about how he grew up it almost sounds like a fantasy land compared to today. It's pretty bad when a normal childhood sounds mythical.
