The CPU players filling for unused player/controller slots are particularly competiively tough. Making use of tricks and points gained from them, gravity, starting by stepping backwards until 2.70 and running forwards after that and other universal racing tips such as trying to stay close to the inner edge of corners will help. It can be difficult to master, but every practice helps

The boost button is gone, HOWEVER:
U can use the gravity dive as like a boost, as a matter of fact, you can use it (A L M O S T) anywhere to get a head as long as you have enough.
Actually, I think that if you bump in to someone using the dive U can slow them down a little bit.
A great example is that one part in meteotech sparkworks. That straight path would be best to Gravity Dive on to boost yourself past everyone, and you can land on the boost pad to get more speed.
The game is more fun with GP set to high so you can "boost" and drift more, leading to a more faster experience compared to not using it enough.
The only downside is that it does make it gimmicky, but otherwise I strongly suggest playing around with the Gravity mechanics. It makes it more fun.
Fun fact, the Gravity dive leaves a trail of air rings behind for other players to catch up. If you use gravity controls while in the rings you can boost much faster, rather than waiting for your character to charge up.

- when in attack mode, hold forward to go faster
- you can hold different directions on the control stick/d pad to do a different type of trick
- don't jump on the fly ramp part

Hey. Thanks for the comment. I'm not sure if these are just general tips, or directed at me or a specific player, but I will still address them.
Regarding attack mode, I definitely knew that you're supposed to hold forward. What is tricky about this is it can pop up very suddenly and your character suddenly slows down. It probably isn't a bad idea to hold forward as you're picking up an item, but I don't think I did this.
About different tricks, I feel like I may have known this, but probably didn't do it. There is no benefit to changing what type of trick is done, right?
About the fly ramp thing, I don't think I used a flying character, but I will try to reminds the other players about this if I am able to do a 4p game sometime.

@@arronmunroe also about the tricks I believe if u like alternative between the directions every time it's like easier to get an X rank. U still gotta time it tho but yea. The more X ranks tge better acceleration you will get when u land!
also if you use a flying gear then go through one of the big rings that glow then you can fly for a long time just enter one of the rings and then avoid the rest and fly around
make sure to have air ride
@@arronmunroe did you know that if you use attack mode in certain part of the track you can access a pathway?! Same goes with the springs.

There was a third game, but it was so terrible that it actually killed the Sonic Riders series. No new games have been made since...
