The departure from seoul was around 5pm on the 10th of august which is around 4am on the 10th of august, NYC time. I had my birthday on the plane later midnight. At the same time, NYC was around 11am on the 10th of august. When I arrived at NYC after 16hours of flight, it was around 8pm on the 10th of August which gave me 4 hours of counting down to my second birthday for the year. Lol. The one thing that probably skews peoples perception of time when it comes to Anne Frank and MLK Jr is that MLK junior lived to be older (ie. lived longer) so that's why it's possibly hard for people to realize these two were born in the same year, and only did MLK become famous for his movements later on in life, after Anne Frank died but had both lived to be the same age, this woulidn't have stumped people as much. Because we perceive Anne Frank for who she was... a young girl who died at age 16 during the Holocaust, but wee see MLK Jr differently, as an "older" person who didn't die until he was 39.

One fact I've heard that destroys my perception of time is that Finland has been a part of Sweden longer than Skåne (Sweden's southernmost province).
I never realized that Anne Frank and Martin Luther King, Jr were both born the same year as my dad (1929), which was also the year that the stock market crashed that led us into the great depression, I might add. My dad was 2 1/2 months old when the stock market crashed.

In the US the drinking age is 21. In a lot of other countries it's 18. Likewise, in a number of countries the age for majority is later. In Algeria & south Korea is 19 for example. In about 20 countries it's actually 21. So no, not everyone is an adult yet.

I merely walked over to a mall just on the Finnish side of the border and back. And actually I did cross the border a few times in just seconds just for fun. If someone had asked "what time is it?" I'd answered "Where?"
I actually went to australia recently, and we flew for about 18 hours, but australian time said that we had left only around 5 hours fter we had arrived!

Here is another twist. Lets magine a women on the plane that just took off from Auckland gave birth on the plane at 12:20am. which was Jan 1st 2018.
A doctor on board recorded the birth and the pilot even reported it to Auckland airport saying all is fine we are continuing.
Unfortunately upon arriving in Honolulu the baby died in a car accident at 1pm on the 31 December 2017.

The one thing that probably skews peoples perception of time when it comes to Anne Frank and MLK Jr is that MLK junior lived to be older (ie. lived longer) so that's why it's possibly hard for people to realize these two were born in the same year, and only did MLK become famous for his movements later on in life, after Anne Frank died but had both lived to be the same age, this woulidn't have stumped people as much. Because we perceive Anne Frank for who she was... a young girl who died at age 16 during the Holocaust, but wee see MLK Jr differently, as an "older" person who didn't die until he was 39.
