This referee is very annoying. Definitely Chinese players do not need his help to win, they can beat almost anyone without his help but he is very eager “to help”. Yesterday he did smth similar to French team when they played against China. He “notices” all “problems” with French and German players’ serves but is silent on Wang Chuqin’s serve as he almost always hides the contact point with his right arm and shoulder.
Agreed that the ref doesn’t need to “help” the Chinese players. I think, though, the umpire was just trying to do the right thing - calling illegal serves. I couldn’t see your point of Wang Chuqin constantly hiding his serves. You might be judging that from the camera angle. I just couldn’t believe that after so many tournaments, all international umpires are turning blind eyes on his illegal serves. Don’t you think?
