    greetings friend great job I was looking for in formation of as they are made and for that they serve the drawings with squares numbered to draw the vehicle of different views for that they serve, some explanatory book for me to learn on the subject also I see that when they begin to drain the clay they do it in sima of a wooden board with squares also I want to know for that it is and as it is made and the measures are taken.

    Hi I have a question am in high school I’m a very creative and artistic person I’m thinking about industrial design but am scared that I won’t be good at fitting things together and the more technical side of thing .aside from the point that I like things done my way it will am not sure if I can take the opinions of the mangers and costumers into consideration .do u think it’s the right field for me or is there a more suitable major for me thank you

      Unless you run the entire show like horacio pagani you will undoubtably be asked to create designs compromised by others. Its true in many professions. Even hollywood producers have been forced into drastic changes by their financial backers. You should just go for it...while having a backup career/job just in case.

      You might accept 80-90% ssignments with lame overrides, and you live for the occasional 10-20% assignments where your design was not overridden. Many people balance passion and paying bills. Its normal.

    18:52 What material did you use to cover the modeling?
    Is it the same material that is used in real scale models?
    Thanks

    Can anybody tell me what they are using to hold up the clay

    • @melzariodesign
      @melzariodesign Před 4 lety +2

      Usually a foam armature is used underneath the clay. Afterwards approximately 25mm or more of clay is added on and that's what you see during the modeling process.

    why would you do that in times of 3d printing? pure nonsense waste of time!

    • @melzariodesign
      @melzariodesign Před 4 lety +7

      Not really. I've gone to school and worked as an apprentice in the automotive industry as a modeler and it's an intense but fulfilling process. Design changes can happen at any moment during the modeling process and you can apply those changes instantly when working with clay vs using 3d printing which is a very costly process material and time wise. That's why every car company is still using the process vs using 3d printing. You'd understand once you've actually done it

      Nearly all cars, particularly the great ones, have to be done in clay! The Basic shape is milled out to save significant building time but the sculpture is always finished by hand. The tension and control from the designer(s) and modellers is what brings forwards the character and spirit of the 'Car'.. it's a creature to creature process.
