    How To Make Jewelry: How To Make A Memory Wire Bracelet
    by Jennifer and Kitty O'Neil
    Running With Sisters
    Memory wire is wire that is permanently shaped in a coil. It is usually found in bracelet size and necklace size. The coil you see in the package is the size of the bracelet or necklace you can make. For this bracelet, we used a package of memory wire labeled “large bracelet.”
    To make the Memory wire Bracelet you will need two tools: round-nose pliers and wire cutters. This wire is harder than regular jewelry wire, so we recommend you use craft snips and not your good jewelry wire cutters. We wouldn’t want your good snips to get marred!
    You will also need seed beads and bicone crystals.
    The complete how-to is on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/make-a-...
    To make the Memory Wire Bracelet, start by cutting a length of memory wire equal to three complete coils plus about two inches.
    Bend a small loop into the end of the memory wire using the round-nose pliers. This will keep the beads from sliding off.
    Feed a complete coil’s worth of seed beads onto the memory wire, followed by a complete coil’s worth of bicones. Then add another coil’s worth of seed beads. Finish the bracelet by making another loop in the other end of the memory wire. Cut any excess wire.

    I saw a beautiful crystal memory wire bracelet in the store for $29. After seeing yours, I was able to make one of my own for less than $3...It's lovely & I love the fact that I don't have to fumble with a clasp. Thank you so much! You got a new subscriber!!!💍

    I love this design! I think I may try this for Mother's day. Are the bicones 6mm and seed beads 8/0? I'm trying to judge the sizes by the video, but sometimes I'm not always accurate. :o) Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful bracelet!

    Hello! I just discovered and subscribed to your channel. I'm beginning to collect supplies to make jewelry for myself because I cannot find bracelets in 6.5" length. If I get memory wire in "small," do you know if that is small enough to make a bracelet that fits like 6.5"?

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi!
      We used the large bracelet size which is 2.5" in diameter. That should be 7.85" around. The small bracelet size of memory wire is 2" in diameter which would make a bracelet about 6.28" around.
      Hope that helps!

    • @e.castlerock8454

      @@TheONeilSisters That helps a lot! Thank you! I saw memory wire online that indicated it was 1.75" in diameter, and I was considering that. But from your reply, I see 2" would be perfect (to be more exact, my perfect bracelet length is 6.25"). Although, now I wonder if I need to accommodate room for the beads. As soon as I get my wire, I'm definitely making this bracelet.

    I got some memory wire to make a bracelet and it ended up feeling too small. Is there any way to ENLARGE the loops?

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  Před 2 lety

      So sorry your memory wire ended up too small. There is no way to enlarge the loops. The wire is really hard and has a "memory" of the size it was formed in manufacturing. Here's a link to "large bracelet" size memory wire: amzn.to/3tpJjn3
